Chapter Thirty-Eight: An Unexpected Duel
The students, who had been expecting to learn something real, were disappointed to find that the dueling club became a joke.
Lockhart had intended to show everyone how to fight, but he had picked the wrong opponent, and Snape was definitely not a little wizard at his mercy in class.
After Lockhart counted down to the three, Snape only flicked his wand, and a dazzling red light flashed in front of everyone. Lockhart was knocked unsteady on his feet, flew backwards off the stage, slammed into the wall, and then slid down, curled up on the floor.
Evan gasped, and this fall was not light.
Lockhart staggered to his feet amid the screams of the girls, his hat falling off and his wavy curls standing on end.
He stumbled back onto the stage, seemingly realizing what had happened.
"I think you've all seen it, it's a disarming spell, and as you can see, I've lost my wand. ”
"And fly out!" there was a boo from the audience.
But everyone underestimated the thickness of Lockhart's cheeks, and he waved his hand downward, taking the boos as a compliment to him.
"Yes, Professor Snape, it's a brilliant idea to show the students, but don't mind if I say that, your intention is obvious. If I want to stop you, I don't have to do anything. I think it would be better for them to see what they are informed."
Noticing Snape's murderous face, Lockhart hurriedly said, "Alright, alright, the demonstration is over." Now I will come among you and divide you all into groups of two. Professor Snape, if you're willing to help me."
They weave their way through the crowd and pair everyone up.
Lockhart pairs Neville and Justin, and Snape walks in front of Harry and Ron.
"The Dream Team should be broken up, I think!" he sneered, "Weasley, you can pair up with Mason;
Hearing his words, Harry subconsciously moved closer to Hermione.
"I don't think so. Snape said, smiling coldly, "Malfoy, come up here." Let's see what kind of person you can make the famous Potter become. Miss Granger, you can be paired with Miss Millicent. ”
Malfoy walked over with a smug smile on his face.
He was followed by a Slytherin girl, tall and strong, stocky, with a fat chin that stretched forward menacingly, and Hermione grinned at her, which she ignored.
The ensuing duel was a nightmare, and Lockhart had just finished shouting three-two-one, when a puff of green smoke filled the entire venue.
Harry and Malfoy were struck by each other's curses until Snape walked over to untie them, Neville and Justin were both lying on the floor, panting, Hermione and Millicent were still moving, Millison clamped Hermione's head, and Hermione screamed softly in pain. Both of their wands had been forgotten on the floor.
Harry hurriedly jumped forward and pulled Millicent away.
The worst is still the group of Evan and Ron, before the duel begins, Evan asks Ron to use the weapon against him, this spell is very low, with Ron's magic, even if he is hit, at most he will let his wand fly out, not as exaggerated as Snape knocking Lockhart away.
In the next second, Evan realized that he was wrong.
A deep blue light flew out of Ron's wand, and Evan had never seen a spell with such a glow, it looked like evil black magic. It wasn't Avada's curse, but Evan sensed the danger of death.
Knowing that he couldn't take it hard, he yelled and threw himself to the side.
The obstacle spell seemed to work, and the dark blue light slowed down and landed exactly where Evan was standing.
As if contaminated with strong sulfuric acid, Aven saw that the marble floor was rapidly corroding and sinking deeply, and the surrounding wizards let out an exclamation.
"Oh my God, Ron, what the hell are you using?" shouted Evan in fright.
"I don't know!" Ron seemed to wake up, "You know, I just used your weapon, I didn't know it was going to happen"
Snape hurried over, looked at the marks on the ground with a gloomy face, and after a few seconds, looked up at Ron with a strange expression.
"Weasley, you're going to peek at the books in the ** section?!" His tone was more questioning than questioning.
"No, no!" Ron replied as he remembered the book "Potions of Power", looking very suspicious.
"Needless to say, something must have gone wrong with your broken wand. Seeing Ron's appearance, Evan knew that he was going to suffer, and he couldn't let Snape find out that they were brewing a polyjuice potion, so he hurriedly changed the subject and said, "Ron, I will definitely not practice with you again until you get a new wand." ”
"But what the hell is this curse?"
"That's enough!" Snape cried out, "if I let you empty-headed idiots practice, I'll be able to collect your bodies tomorrow." ”
"That's right, Professor Snape. Lockhart followed, "I think it's best to teach them how to stop unfriendly magic. Is there a couple who have volunteered to come up and demonstrate, Longbottom and Fenrieri, how are you?"
"That's not a good idea, Professor Lockhart. Snape glided briskly across the stage like a vicious, large bat, "Like the empty-headed Weasley, Longbottom can wreak havoc with even the simplest of spells. We will put Finlieri's remains in a matchbox and send them to the hospital room. ”
Neville's round pink face flushed even more, and Snape smirked, "How about Malfoy and Potter?"
"Wonderful!" Lockhart motioned for Harry and Malfoy to walk to the center of the auditorium, and the people stepped back to make room for them.
Harry and Malfoy stood on either side of the stage, and Lockhart and Snape whispered to each other to teach some fighting techniques. Lockhart didn't know what to say to Harry, and he swung his wand a few times, dropping it to the ground.
Next, just as Evan remembers.
The long black snake suddenly burst out of Malfoy's wand, and it landed heavily in the center of the stage, then raised its head and prepared to attack.
The crowd screamed, quickly dodging backwards, making way for the clearing.
Snape had intended to scare Harry, but Lockhart made it worse by waving his wand to send the Black Snake flying high and landing in the middle of the crowd.
Enraged, it swam straight towards Justin Fenrieri, spitting out the letter, and struck an offensive posture with its head held high, fangs bared.
Then everyone heard Harry start hissing at the Black Serpent, as if in an ancient mysterious ritual, and everyone held their breath and didn't move, and the Great Hall was so quiet that they could hear the sound of a pin hitting the ground.
The snake stopped, and Harry looked up at Justin and grinned.
Seeing his gaze, everyone took a step back in unison, anger and horror written all over Justin's face.
"What do you think you're up to?" he shouted, turning and rushing out of the auditorium for fear of tears rolling in his eyes.
Looking at Harry, who was standing on the stage with a confused expression, Evan hurriedly followed Ron up and dragged him down.
