Chapter 542: Experiments
"Attention all staff, please take your place at your respective posts, and the test will start immediately!"
"Number 1 is in place!"
"No. 2 in place~"
"Number 3 is already in place!"
"No. 4 is fine!"

"Okay, test number 2005120101, it's officially started!"
In an incomparably spacious room, no, it can no longer be called a room, it should be said to be an incomparably spacious hall and warehouse. Pen | fun | pavilion www. biquge。 info
A huge hole-like thing, pitch black inside, in this beige hall looks extraordinarily blinking, as if opening a huge mouth, and right in front of it, a red sedan is parked here, the whole body is streamlined, on the grille in front of the front of the car, with a huge silver logo, it is a predatory falcon swooping down on the letter emp.
This place is the northeast of China, and at this time, it is already a cold and snowy land, but in this hall, it is still a hot scene.
This is the Automobile Wind Tunnel Laboratory of Jichun University in Jichun Province, which is the first automobile wind tunnel laboratory in China, and is affiliated to the Institute of Automotive Aerodynamics, School of Automotive Engineering, Jichun University. Prepared to be built in 1999, the construction started in 2002, and was completed and put into use in 2003.
Today, the wind tunnel test project for EMP electric vehicles is taking place here.
Automobile wind tunnel test, known as the highest test in the automobile industry, as a test that is not mandatory by the state, it costs up to 400 yuan per minute, a car from the initial design to improvement, acceptance generally has to go through three tests, each test is the shortest one day, which means that it will cost 75-900,000 yuan, which can be called the "most expensive" experiment.
Because when the speed of the car reaches more than 80 kilometers per hour, the wind resistance accounts for 60% of the total driving resistance, which means that most of the fuel consumption is to overcome the wind resistance, and with the increase of speed, this data is also increasing. At the same time, wind noise will also increase significantly, surpassing engine noise and road noise to become the main source of noise, affecting the comfort of occupants. Therefore, optimizing the shape design of the vehicle, reducing the wind resistance, improving the driving safety, and reducing the noise are the main objectives of the automobile wind tunnel experiment.
For electric vehicles, endurance is an important indicator that affects the quality and quality of their products, for this reason, the body adopts a lot of lightweight design, not to mention, this wind resistance is also an important factor, lower wind resistance can reduce energy consumption, which is why EMP commissioned the automotive wind tunnel laboratory of Jichun University to carry out this wind tunnel test.
Today, the arrangement of this wind tunnel test is mainly composed of three items: wind resistance test, wind noise source test and in-vehicle wind noise test.
At this time, the red sedan in the center of the laboratory is the object of this test, and it is also the first concept prototype of the EMP electric vehicle that the EMP car industry has spent a year building - where this F is the abbreviation of future, which means "future".
Of course, the concept model to be tested today is not the final product, because its chassis has not yet been finalized, and what is tested today is only the data of its exterior design, which is essentially not directly related to the chassis performance, so it can be carried out separately and simultaneously.
At the beginning of October, EMP invited the famous car design master, then the chief designer of the Volkswagen Group, Peter? Cyril designed a model for them, and after a short trip to China, the conversation with Bai Ningyuan also gave the design master a lot of design inspiration, so that he quickly delivered the new design to the EMP side, and the speed of EMP was also very fast, after discussing and reporting to Bai Ningyuan for approval, after determining the appearance of this model, it took a month to do it1Of course, except for the specific electronic equipment and interior inside, all the exterior parts are made of real materials, so as to obtain the closest data to the real use.
With the order of the staff, today's wind tunnel experiment officially began, at this time, in the rear monitoring area, Sun Ying and some engineering experts from the design and development department of the factory are watching all the details of the test through the screen in front of them.
Wind resistance test is a high-speed driving state of a vehicle simulated by using a high-power fan to create a high-speed airflow blowing through the body when the car is stationary. Through a series of sensing devices arranged on the car, the drag coefficient of the car and the state of the car at high speed are measured. Generally speaking, when the front of the vehicle is hit by air, the grille, windshield, A-pillar and rearview mirror will be subject to greater air resistance.
In addition, in addition to the frontal wind resistance, several angle tests such as offset 5°, 10°, and 15° will be carried out to simulate the influence of bias wind resistance during road driving, as close as possible to the actual situation, to ensure that the design of the vehicle shape reaches the best state, so that the test data has a higher reference.
The development of the automobile industry has gone through more than 100 years of history and has become a complex of a number of sciences, so a model is not simply designed, and the shape that seems to have no bright spots does contain the command and sweat of countless engineers and designers, because the shape design alone includes fluid mechanics, plastic arts, Color science and ergonomics and other complex content, not designers can just draw a shape can be finalized, the establishment of the appearance of each model, is based on a large amount of data collection.
In the case of the current drag coefficient, it is very difficult for the designer of the car to reduce the drag coefficient of even 0.01.
Rao believes in the design of the master of automobile design, but when the experiment really began, Sun Ying and many engineers couldn't help but get nervous, their eyes stared at the monitor in front of them, and their hearts instantly rose to their throats.
The fans in the wind tunnel continued to blow strong air currents, and under the operation of the staff, a white smoke emitted from a tube, and with the flow of air, along the lines of the car body towards the back.
This is called the smoke flow experiment, which uses white smoke to show the direction and flow trajectory of the air flow through the model, because the air is colorless and transparent, so if you want to understand the flow of air flow in the wind tunnel, you can arrange a device that can emit white smoke in front of the experimental model, and when the white smoke flows through the experimental model with the air flow, the flow trajectory of the white smoke will show the flow of the air flow, which is intuitive and clear.
With the smooth progress of one test after another, more and more data are gradually appearing on the screen, showing the invisible strength of this model that has been pinned on by the EMP people......
Today's second update!
Thank you for the kind reward from the book friend "Your Good Dad", bow and thank you!
The body has basically recovered, remind you to pay attention to food safety! )
