Chapter 831: Yongle Bell
You look at me, I look at you, and you don't know where the bell came from.
Yang Rong walked to the door and glanced at the direction of the Hanjing Factory with his hands behind his back, and in the dark night, the vague shadow of the Yongle Bell was still clearly visible.
This Yongle bell began to be cast in the early years of Yongle, thousands of Ming craftsmen dug out a deep pit of ten meters square on the ground outside the city of Beijing, first according to the designed bell model, divided into seven sections for casting for the outer fan, low temperature drying, baking into pottery. Then according to the radius and thickness of different sections of the bell body, the scraper mold is designed to make the inner model of the bell. When the seven pottery outer rings are docked in turn, such as the shape of the seven-level floating slaughter, the integrated bell is successfully assembled.
This is a seamless operation, and the slightest gap and the difference of cents will cause "fire" and lead to total failure. In order to withstand the pressure of casting and ensure sufficient strength, the outer fan is undoubtedly filled with earth and compacted layer by layer. The imperceptible scars next to the bell button leaked the exact location of the four pouring openings, and then dozens of furnaces were lined up along the four channels, and the furnaces were boiling with gold and copper juice; The inside and outside of the pit are preheated at high temperatures at the same time. When the hearth filled with Wanhu golden soup rushed out, this Wanjun bell was completed in one go. The whole big bell, the bell body is smooth and clean, there is no crack, there are 230184 words of scriptures cast inside and outside, there is no word missing, the casting process is exquisite, the first big bell from ancient times to the present.
The bell was cast in the eighteenth year of Yongle, and Zhu Di, the ancestor of the Ming Dynasty, was very happy, and he gathered the ministers to discuss where the cast bell should be hung. The ministers talked a lot, in fact, Ming Chengzu already had an idea in his heart, that is, to hang the bell in the Hanjing factory. Located on the edge of the Forbidden City, the Han Jing Factory is part of the Imperial Palace Complex. Ming Chengzu chose the Hanjing Factory to hang the bell, and the answer lies in the 230,000-word inscription of the Yongle bell. Ming Chengzu Zhu Di Rong Ma all his life, devout and believed in Buddhism. Influenced by his father, Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang, Zhu Di advocated the use of Buddhism to consolidate the rule of the Ming Dynasty. He once ordered: Every time there is an important festival, the civil and military officials must wear robes, hit the bell and chant like monks, and then change into court clothes after they are finished. In order to facilitate the visit, a Hanjing factory was built on the edge of the palace and the Yongle bell was hung. Since then, the bell of the Hanjing Factory has continued to ring throughout the city of Beijing.
When the bell was cast, for some reason, the capital spread a Yongle Emperor cast the Yongle bell, which was a sense of guilt for the loyal ministers who killed the Jianwen Emperor, and was repentant.
In history, palace coups are common, and it can be said that every coup is very cruel, and no emperor who ascended the throne because of a coup has ever "repented". Diligent government and love the people, such as Tang Taizong, didn't he launch the "Xuanwumen Change", kill his brother to force his father to the emperor, and cut off dissidents and then ascended to the throne? However, he made great achievements for the government, created the famous "Zhenguan Rule" in history, and became the main founder of the Tang Dynasty, after Zhu Di ascended the throne, he ruled the world with literature on the inside of Tang Taizong, humbly admonished, strictly economized, persuaded the people to recuperate, the country and the people were safe, opened up the territory to the outside world, conquered the Eastern Tu and Xue Yantuo, conquered Gaochang, Qiuci, Tuyuhun, hit Goguryeo hard, and set up the means of the four towns of Anxi were all praised, and actively imitated, He had a "confession", he not only never because of " and on the contrary, he always believed that the Battle of Jingjing was in accordance with his father's will, and he personally said to the ministers: "In the construction of the text, trust and treacherous returns, with flesh and bones. At that time, I was forced to raise an army because of danger. Relying on the spirit of the ancestors of heaven and earth, it is difficult to be cloudy in Keping. Not only that, but in the preface to the imperial system engraved on the Yongle bell in the fifteenth year of Yongle, he said: "Slandering kings and ministers, slandering goodness, and creating sinful karma are immeasurable. …… Today, the king's law is punished by disloyal and unfilial people, fierce and scoundrels, and they are not relocated. Therefore, pull out the evil, cultivate the good, exalt the Three Jewels, Yonglong Buddhism, and Guangli Yiqiē. In the second year, he said in the imperial "Yao Shaoshi Shinto Tablet": "And the emperor Kabintian, and the traitorous ministers took orders, changed the old chapters, and made them into chaos, and bowed down in danger." I have the most important society, and the responsibility of saving is always there...... Internal difficulties are peaceful, and the society is safe. "How can there ever be half a penance? But so many people believe it?
Yang Rong looked at the vague shadow of the Yongle Bell, and fell into thinking about the past for a while, at this time, the Yongle Bell bell was endless.
Yang Rong frowned, as if he felt that something was wrong, but he couldn't say what was wrong.
"Is this bell so strange? In the past, I was leisurely and leisurely, listening to it in my ears, I only felt very refreshing, and the bell sounded so impatiently tonight, which made people feel so irritable? Yang Pu glanced at Yang Rongdao at this time.
Yang Rong frowned when he heard this, only to feel that every time he heard the bell, the feeling of uneasiness in his heart seemed to be strong.
At this moment, I heard a sound of footsteps outside the door, but no one came in, so I couldn't help but walk to the door curiously, stretched out my neck and glanced at it, only to see the palace maids walking in the palace, the guards, and the eunuchs all looked in a hurry, as if they were busy with something? But I can't see the clue.
Yang Rong was about to ask, but at this moment, the sound of the Yongle bell suddenly slowed down a little, and when he took a few clicks, revealing a certain sadness, he frowned and counted silently, it was nine. His heart moved, and he suddenly remembered something, and raised his head in astonishment to look in the direction of Qin'an Palace, only to see that the palace ladies, eunuchs, and guards who were in a hurry had stopped moving, and in the silent palace, only the Yongle bell rang non-stop.
After a while, no one in the palace shouted first: "Your Majesty——? “
This sound resounded throughout the palace, everyone could hear it clearly, Yang Rong's heart was shocked, two hot tears immediately flowed down, and he knelt down in the direction of Qin'an Palace with a plop, and kowtowed.
The rest of the cabinet was slightly stunned, and then their expressions froze, plopped a few times, and knelt down one after another, Yang Pu shouted sadly: "Your Majesty——? “
I don't know how long I knelt down, but I could only hear a cry coming from inside the thick palace gate, which resounded throughout the palace.
The sound of crying, from the first one, two, three people to the end, whether it is the palace eaves, eunuchs, guards, and the imperial doctors on duty, the officials all cried loudly.
Everyone in the cabinet was also crying, Yang Pu looked at Yang Rong with tears in his eyes, and said sadly: "Lord Yang, the emperor, is the emperor dead?" ”
Yang Rong looked at the Qin'an Palace immersed in the dark night with tears on his face, and it took a long time to spit out a few words from his mouth: "The emperor has died——? ”

"The World is Fighting" is over, this volume is a little long, I don't know if you like it or not, but I have to say, the subscription of this volume of Xiaojing, the collection has grown a lot, it can be seen that you still like it, this is the happiest thing for Xiaojing, the next volume of Xiaojing is named "Jinghua Smoke and Clouds and Snow Full of Snow" from the Qingming Festival to upload, and strive to do two to three more every day, constantly changing, do not abandon the pit, let you like it, and finally say that more than two million have been written, those are still waiting, Even book lovers who are interested in fattening can now get on board and can be slaughtered! I still remember what we said at the beginning, this boat is very long, you have to get on the boat, buy tickets early!
Recently, I spent a lot of pen and ink writing about Mingrenzong's personality and political measures, and after reading it, many book friends think that I have exaggerated Mingrenzong, no matter how capable an emperor is, it is impossible to have such a high evaluation, and even many book friends think that Mingrenzong's contribution is exaggerated by later generations of literati, in fact, there is no contribution, I must say a few words about this.
Ming Renzong Zhu Gaochi was the third emperor of the Ming Dynasty, he was born in 1378 AD and died in 1425 AD at the age of 47. He was the eldest son of Ming Chengzu Zhu Di, who succeeded to the throne after Chengzu died of illness, and died of illness after only one year of reign. He was made the prince of King Yan in 1395. He is calm and quiet by nature, recognizable in words and deeds, and likes to read. Ming Chengzu raised troops and ordered Zhu Gaochi to stay in Beijing. Zhu Gaochi united his subordinates and successfully blocked the 500,000 army of Li Jinglong, the general of Emperor Jianwen, with an army of 10,000 people, and kept the city of Beijing. After Zhu Gaochi received the letter, he didn't read it, and sent it to Chengzu untouched, making Emperor Jianwen's anti-plot fail. This can not only show Zhu Gaochi's intelligence, but also see that Zhu Gaochi is a person worthy of wooing in the eyes of Emperor Jianwen, and furthermore, from the fact that after he received the letter, he was sent to Chengzu untouched, and it can also be seen that he understands human nature, at least for his father and king, than his other two younger brothers.
Of course, if you rely on these two points, it means that he has made great contributions to the Ming Dynasty, which is inevitably a little unreasonable. "History of the Ming Dynasty" commented on him: "When Jing is difficult to learn, Renzong lives in the world, and the whole city is a teacher. Later, Chengzu took advantage of the public opinion, went out of the northern expedition at the age of the year, supervised the country in the east palace, and there was no waste in the court. However, the people who were in danger were repeated, and finally they were fulfilled with sincerity. It is good to tell people that "I know that I have done my duty, and I don't know that there are slanderers", which is the law that can be used by the sons of all generations. Reigned for one year. Employing people and administering is very good. In the year of the day off, Han Wei recuperates, and the prosperity of morality is not compared with the text and the scene. This evaluation is still pertinent, because in the evaluation, it is not only about his achievements in the ten months after he ascended the throne, but also about his political achievements when he was in charge of the country as the crown prince.
Zhu Gaochi's real contribution to the Ming Dynasty is worthy of the word "benevolence" in his imperial name, and most of his merits are attributed to his Ming Chengzu Zhu Di's northern expedition or northward journey, staying in the south and directly subordinating to Tianfu and acting as the imperial power, and carrying out six prison times, which lasted for 16 years.
In August of the sixth year of Yongle, Zhu Di issued an edict saying that the capital would be moved to Beijing, and that he would go to Beijing the following year, and ordered the crown prince Zhu Gaochi to supervise the country. In the winter and November of the same year, Qiu Fu, Jian Yi, Jin Zhong, Hu Guang, Huang Huai, Yang Rong, Yang Shiqi, Jin Youzi and others also tutored the emperor's eldest grandson.
In the first month of the spring of the following year, the crown prince was ordered to supervise the country. Except for the civil and military worship, the tribute of the four descendants, and the transfer of border transfers to the upper line (Beijing), the rest of the general affairs do not have to be started, but are directly handled by the prince. The secretary of the Ministry of Officials and Zhan Shifu Zhan Shi Jianyi, the secretary of the Ministry of War and Zhan Shi Jin Zhong, Zuo Chunfang University Scholar and Hanlin Attendant Huang Huai, Zuo Yude and Hanlin Attendant Yang Shiqi tutored the prison country. And Hu Guang, the scholar of life, Yang Rong, Jin Youzi and Xia Yuanji, the head of the household, went north from Ming Chengzu.
In February of the same year, Zhu Di left Nanjing; Arrived in Beijing the following month. Du Yu Yu Qian, Du Qin was ordered to inspect the two Huai, and the soldiers and civilians of Yingchuan were short of food, so please issue a loan. Zhu Gaochi sent people to immediately issue loans. In addition, Zanshan Wang Ruzheng discussed poetry to the crown prince every time, Zhu Gaochi asked Yang Shiqi about the level of poetry, and Yang Shiqi said that poetry would only lose ambition, and reading the edicts of the two Han Dynasty was also considerable. It is concise in its administration, and it is always hard and learning. In October of the eighth year of Yongle, Zhu Di returned to Nanjing, and Zhu Gaochi completed his first prison of the country.
In the eleventh year of Yongle, Zhu Di went north to Beijing, and Zhu Zhanji, the emperor's grandson, followed, and ordered Shangshu Jianyi, scholar Huang Huai, Yude Yang Shiqi and Xima Yang Pu to counsel the prince and supervise the country. In March of the following year, Zhu Di began his northern expedition to the Watts, and in June of the same year, he was stationed in Shahe, and the prince sent troops to Shangshu Jinzhong and other officials to greet him.
In August of the same year, Zhu Di arrived in Beijing and was furious because the prince sent him to slow down the car and make a mistake, saying: "This is the fault of the counselor." Zhu Gaoxu, the king of the Han Dynasty, went to slander again, so Zhu Di sent envoys to arrest Shangshu Jianyi, scholar Huang Huai, Yude Yang Shiqi, Xima Yang Pu, Rui Shan and the Zhengzi Jin Wen of the Bureau of Economic Affairs, etc., and issued an order to forgive Jianyi and return to Nanjing, and Huang Huai first went to Beijing to be imprisoned. On this day, Yang Shiqi and Jin Wen arrived, and Zhu Di said: "Yang Shiqi forgives." I can't recognize Jin and ask, how do you serve the East Palace? "Ordered the Department of Justice to arrest and question. After that, Yang Shiqi was summoned and asked about the East Palace. Yang Shiqi kowtowed and said that the prince was filial piety and sincerity, and all problems were the sins of ministers. So Zhu Di sent Yang Shiqi to prison. Soon after, he was especially forgiven and reinstated. Jin Wen implicated Yang Pu because of his words, and Yang Pu was also imprisoned. Later, someone asked Zhu Gaochi: "Your Highness, do you know that someone is slandering?" Zhu Gaochi said: "I don't know, I only know the responsibility of being a son." ”
In the autumn and September of the thirteenth year of Yongle, there was a hurricane in Yancheng County, Zhili, and the sea overflowed, injuring 215 hectares of people's fields. The prince ordered the land rent to be reduced by more than 1,170 stones. After that, Zhu Di returned to the dynasty and ended the second prison of the country.
In the spring and March of the fifteenth year of Yongle, Zhu Di went on tour of Beijing again, and ordered the secretary of the Ministry of Officials and Zhan Shijianyi, the bachelor of Hanlin and Yang Shiqi, and the attendant and Zanshan Liang Qian to assist the prince Zhu Gaochi to supervise the country. In July of the same year, he gave the crown prince the "Discipline of the Order". During the period when the prince was in charge of the country, he looked at the time of the court, did not release the scroll, and was served broadly, just like a Confucian.
In the summer and May of the same year, Zhu Di killed Zanshan Liang Qian and Zhou Mian. Because the crown prince was in charge of the country at that time, Zhu Di fell ill from time to time, and Beijing and Nanjing were thousands of miles apart, and many villains secretly attached themselves to Zhu Gaochu, the king of the Han Dynasty, and repeatedly framed Zhu Gaochi. At that time, the ministers who were in charge of the state were anxious day and night, and no one could protect themselves. At that time, Chen Qianhu had taken people's wealth without permission, and after the matter was discovered, the crown prince Zhu Gaochi ordered him to make meritorious contributions. A few days later, he revisited his military exploits and forgave him. So someone slandered Zhu Di and said: "The prince has forgiven the guilty people who the emperor has confessed." Zhu Di then arrested Chen Qianhu and killed him. and Liang Qian and Zhou Mian, and were arrested and imprisoned together, and they were all executed.
In June, Zhu Di sent Hu Hu, the left attendant of the Ministry of Rites, to patrol the counties of Jiang and Zhejiang, and after the face-to-face performance, Zhu Di said: "People say that there are many political failures in the East Palace, and after arriving in Beijing today, you can stay for a few more days, try to observe some, and then play a secret performance." The word 'play' needs to be capitalized, and I will read it when I arrive at night. After Hu Hu arrived in Beijing, he accompanied the pilgrimage to meet and record various political affairs, and wrote the seven things of sincerity, respect, filial piety and filial piety that he saw into the secret and presented it to Zhu Di. Zhu Di was overjoyed after reading it, so he no longer doubted the crown prince.
In the autumn and September of the eighteenth year of Yongle, the Beijing palace was completed, and Zhu Di ordered the head of the household department to summon the prince Zhu Gaochi and the grandson Zhu Zhanji to arrive in Beijing in December. When he left Beijing, he paid homage to the tomb of the Fengyang Emperor and passed through Shandong, where he encountered a famine, which ordered the political secretary to send Su for disaster relief for 19 years, and Zhu Di returned to Nanjing, ending his third imprisonment.
In the spring and March of the twentieth year of Yongle, Zhu Di once again personally conquered Mobei, and in the autumn and September of the same year, he returned to Beijing, during which Zhu Gaochi was once again in charge of supervising the country.
In May of the 21st year of Yongle, Wang Yu, the chief guard of Changshanzhong, reported, saying: "Meng Xian, the commander of the Changshanzhong guard, and Peng Xu, the commander of Yulinwei, raised troops to push Zhu Gaosui, the king of Zhao, to take the lead, and the plan was not conducive to the affairs of the crown prince." Zhu Di ordered a hurried arrest, and then summoned the crown prince Zhu Gaochi, the king of Zhao Zhu Gaosui, and the minister of civil and military affairs, and Zhu Di personally inquired at Youshunmen. At that time, Zhu Di ignored the court because of his illness, and many things inside and outside the court were punished by the prince. The crown prince often cut off the eunuch guards, and the eunuchs Huang Yan and Jiang Bao were especially reprimanded. Huang Yan slandered Zhu Gaochi in front of Zhu Di every day, and had always been good friends with Zhu Gaosui, and often colluded in private. The Qintian supervisor Wang Shecheng and Meng Xianmi said to him: "Looking at the heavenly phenomena, there should be a change of ownership. ”。 So everyone conspired with Ma Shu and Tian Zihe, the old guards of the left guard of Shanzuo, Gao Zheng, the old army of the Houtun guard of Xingzhou, and Chen Kai of the right guard of Tongzhou, and gave poison to Zhu Di. After Zhu Di died of illness, he used his soldiers to rob the inner treasury and fight Fu Bao, and divided the troops into the ministers. Gao Zheng forged the edict and delivered it to the adopted son of Zhongguan Yang Qing, including the deposed crown prince, and made Gao Sui, the king of Zhao, emperor. After the discussion was confirmed, Gao Zheng secretly told his nephew Wang Yu. Wang Yu tried his best to stop him, so he had no choice but to sue. Zhu Di was furious after reading the forged edict, immediately arrested Yang Qing's adopted son and killed him, and said to Zhu Gaosui: "You designed it, right?" Zhu Gaosui trembled and couldn't speak, and the crown prince Zhu Gaochi explained, saying: "Gao Sui will definitely not participate in this scheme, this is what the people below did." Zhu Di then ordered the Minister of Civil and Military Affairs and the Three Laws Division to rule, and the ministers played Meng Xian and others to commit a great rebellion, and there was a real situation, and they should be sentenced to capital punishment together. After that, Wang Shecheng, Meng Xian and others were sentenced to death.
In August of the 21st year of the fifth prison of Yongle, Zhu Di went north again, and returned to Beijing in November of the same year, during which Zhu Gaochi was again in charge of supervising the country.
In March of the 22nd year of the sixth prison Yongle, Zhu Di discussed the northern expedition. In April of the same year, the imperial decree ordered the crown prince Zhu Gaochi to supervise the country again. In July of the same year, Zhu Di died in Yumuchuan, and Yang Rong, a scholar, and Hai Shou, a young eunuch, were ordered to obituary the prince.
Six times to supervise the country, as long as 16 years, 16 years can Zhu Di send troops to Mongolia five times before and after, move the capital to Beijing, go to the West, send troops to Annam, it can be said that the contribution is indispensable, although there are Zhu Gaoxi, Zhu Gaosui many times from the obstruction, but the Ming situation is not chaotic, but presents a state of vitality, it is not an exaggeration to say that Yongle has a share of the credit of Ming Renzong.
After ascending the throne, he changed his name to Hongxi, and began his reign for less than a year, but in just one year, he did a lot of things, first, pardoned the former ministers of Emperor Jianwen and the families of officials who were exiled to the border when Chengzu was in exile, and allowed them to return to their original places, and rehabilitated unjust prisons, so that many unjust cases could be revealed, and various contradictions within the court since Zhu Di ascended the throne were alleviated, and the Ming Dynasty was stabilized from the inside.
Second, select virtuous ministers, cut redundant officials, and appoint three Yangs (Yang Rong, Yang Shiqi, Yang Bo) as auxiliary ministers. The three Yang auxiliaries of the cabinet continued to be stable for several years after his death; Despite its shortcomings, the Cabinet plays an important role in maintaining a civilian government.
Third, the ancient palace punishment was abolished, the treasure ship was stopped from going to the West, and the royal procurement of jewelry was stopped; He ordered tax reductions and exemptions, gave free relief to the disaster-stricken areas, opened some mountains and rivers for farmers to fish and hunt, and changed the usual punishment for the displaced people, and adopted the practice of proper resettlement. So that the population that began to flee in the last year of Yongle slowly returned.
Fourth: The imperial examination stipulates the proportion of "60 in the south and 40 in the north", which has been used until the Qing Dynasty.
Compared with Zhu Yuanzhang, Zhu Di's great military exploits, he did not do much, but four things according to the history books, in this nearly a year of time, the people of the Ming Dynasty have been fully recuperated, the productive forces have been unprecedentedly developed, the Ming Dynasty has entered a stable and strong period, for the later "Renxuan rule" has made a foreshadowing, this is not reluctant, from the later Ming Xuanzong's various political means, most of them are a continuation of the line of Ming Renzong, it can be said that if there is no Ming Renzong this year to make the foreshadowing, Ming Xuanzong's ten years may not be so smooth, the later "governing the world" does have half of Ming Renzong's merits, because Zhu Gaochi reigned for less than a year, there is nothing earth-shattering, crying ghosts and gods, but his benevolent government is still shining in the history of the Ming Dynasty, in my opinion, the word "benevolence" in the honorific name is still worthy of the name!
