Are there robbers and thieves? Who still steals when they treat other people's homes as if they were their own? Who still harms others if they treat others as if they were their own? Treat other people's families as if they were their own family, who still infringes? Treat other people's countries as if they were their own country, who still attack? Therefore, if the doctors invade each other's families, and the princes attack each other's feudal countries, there will be no more. If all the people in the world love each other, if the countries no longer attack each other, if the families no longer infringe on each other, if there are no robbers and thieves, and if the kings, ministers, fathers and sons can be filial piety and love, like this, the world will be governed well.

Therefore, since the sage is a person who governs the world as a profession, how can he persuade each other to love without forbidding mutual hatred? Because the world can be governed well by loving each other, mutual hatred will be chaotic, so our teacher Mozi said: "We cannot help but persuade and love others." Here's why.
