Chapter 746: Destroying "Can"
As the weather gets cooler, the leaves on the roadside slowly begin to change color. Autumn is coming, and it's a harvest season. However, since the beginning of September, the whole country has been covered by the subtropical high, so there has been no heavy rain. With the continuous sunny weather, it is conducive to the accumulation of sugar in the fruits, but it also brings another hidden danger, that is, fires, especially forest fires.
With the continuous strengthening of our people's awareness of environmental protection and the continuous increase in the area of mountain closure and afforestation, wildfires have become one of the biggest natural safety hazards at present.
Every year, the forestry department and the fire department spend a lot of effort in this regard, but it still has little effect, after all, there are too many factors that can cause fires, natural factors, human factors, and even some accidental factors.
For example, the weather is too hot, which leads to dry vegetation, and some oily and drier plants are prone to spontaneous combustion. In addition, natural factors such as lightning strikes can also easily cause wildfires.
In addition, it is more man-made, especially in remote mountainous areas, the way of sweeping tombs is more traditional, and it is easy to cause fires, the fire is a cigarette butt, and the picnic is also very easy to cause mountain fires.
Just this year, since the beginning of summer, there have been many and paid a heavy price.
The Nanshan area in the southwest of Anxi is the first primeval forest reserve in China to realize the closure of mountains for afforestation. In recent years, due to the development of tourism, several large forest parks have been developed in the Nanshan area, and they have attracted a large number of tourists.
And this naturally also brings a lot of potential safety hazards, especially the large number of tourists, the quality is uneven, because of the negligence of tourists and the fire has been several, fortunately was found in time, and did not cause too many consequences.
This has also caused a lot of controversy, and there is only one focus of attention and discussion, that is, whether tourism and environmental protection can be both.
The question now is whether tourism development has seriously affected the safety of the reserve, and whether it should be carried out is a matter of opinion.
The environmental protection department and the forestry department naturally hope to close tourist attractions, reduce human harm to nature, and reduce the risks and hidden dangers caused by human causes.
As a tourism department and locally, these forest parks and tourist areas have indeed stimulated the local economy, especially these villages and towns located in mountainous areas, which have quickly lifted themselves out of poverty and become rich by virtue of these tourist areas.
If these tourist areas and forest parks are closed, these villages and towns that were originally lifted out of poverty may be impoverished again, and even cause some social problems.
Whether we can find a way to achieve both, all parties have been exploring over the years. One of the most common or effective methods is to increase patrol and surveillance, set up numerous fire warning observation points in these protected areas, install electronic monitoring and sensing equipment, or arrange special personnel to carry out duties.
In addition, the independent and dedicated forest fire prevention patrol team conducts continuous patrols to ensure that fire hazards can be detected in time and eliminated in the bud.
This method has naturally achieved good results, and has also succeeded in storing a lot of potential safety hazards, but it also has great shortcomings.
Especially in the mountainous areas, the traffic is extremely constant, and some primeval forests, high mountains and dense forests, there are no roads at all, so it is impossible to enter. For example, the Nanshan area itself is a granite volcanic rock uplift landform, and the mountain is very steep, and it is very difficult to patrol.
To this end, the reserve has not only relocated more than a dozen villages scattered throughout the reserve, but also mobilized helicopters to carry out patrols. However, the cost of helicopter patrol is very high, and the mountains are steep and the mountain microclimate is diverse, which can easily bring flight safety. Last year, a patrol helicopter in the reserve encountered strong air currents in the mountains, which almost caused the tragedy of the plane crash and death.
Eventually, the patrol helicopter was damaged and forced to land in a mountain col area, injuring the pilot. Now this patrol helicopter does not dare to go deeper, and it is worth patrolling the outer areas.
The reserve has also considered the use of drones for patrols, and large drones can fly at an altitude of more than 5,000 meters.
Although equipped with infrared optical sensors, the mountain stream's microclimate is diverse, often dense with fog and thin clouds. Moreover, the mountainous areas are full of tall trees and dense vegetation, making it difficult for infrared optical cameras to detect small fire spots.
By the time it is detected, the fire is already large, and it is more difficult to extinguish the fire, especially in such a dense forest area.
Therefore, in this regard, the reserve has put out a tender for external bidding, hoping to have a set of wireless monitoring systems that can be placed in the entire reserve.
According to the bidding requirements, the system must be small and safe, easy to install, have solar or wind energy charging function, and can be unattended for a long time. It has a keen insight into small fire spots, and has the ability of high-speed image transmission, which is convenient for the prevention and control command center to view the situation.
As the first intelligent fire prevention and control project, it has attracted the attention of a large number of technology companies, and Wu Hao is the same.
As a local business, they got the news a long time ago and were very interested in it.
Everyone knows the value of this project, once this project is successful, it means that it will directly open up a huge market, not only in China, but also in the whole world.
Forest fires have become a headache for countries all over the world, and they are also the most harmful disasters. Therefore, if there is such a monitoring and prevention system, it will undoubtedly be effective in preventing the occurrence of such major disasters.
Wu Hao: They are interested because they have an intelligent unmanned patrol security system, which was designed with the diversity of tasks it can perform in mind.
Fire prevention and control is also one of its main functions.
However, this is not enough, especially in a complex mountainous area like Nanshan, where the system needs to be adapted in a targeted manner.
First of all, it is to strengthen the main force in the intelligent unmanned patrol security system, that is, the ability of the air patrol alert drone to deal with complex terrain and complex climate (mountain microclimate).
As a result, the entire R&D team also carried out a very complex process of experimentation and improvement. Because of the proximity and the fact that it is a local enterprise, the entire project R&D team directly entered Nanshan to conduct on-site testing.
As a result, they also have access to first-hand information that others can't get, especially detailed data on the mountain microclimate, which is conducive to targeted improvement and optimization.
However, this is not enough, this is only a mobile patrol and alert system, and some fixed monitoring and early warning systems and some sensors are needed to cooperate.
