A summary of the book and a postscript to the novel

Previous Chapter

When I finished the last chapter of Ancient Greece: The Overlord of the Mediterranean, I felt both lost and relieved.

I still remember five years ago, after a period of extreme boredom, I finally decided to rewrite the story of ancient Greece to make up for the guilt of breaking off, and at the same time, it was also a long-cherished wish that I had always had in my heart.

At that time, I only conceived a rough outline, and I hurriedly started writing, never imagined that I would be able to write for nearly 5 years (including the idea and the time to save the manuscript in advance), and the word count was close to 4 million. In such a long time, my life and work have undergone a lot of changes, and I have experienced a lot of difficulties in the process of writing, I have thought of giving up many times, but the passion in writing and the long-cherished wish in my heart tell me that I must persevere, coupled with countless lovely readers to accompany me on my lonely writing road, it is your continuous encouragement and support that makes me fight to this day.

"Ancient Greece: The Overlord of the Mediterranean" has finally been written, which may seem a bit hasty to you, but in my opinion, it basically achieved my expected goal, completed the outline drawn up in advance, and can be regarded as the first work in my online writing career that is really finished ("Campus Love" does not count, it is interrupted twice in the middle, and the ending is hasty), which is also a great achievement and worth celebrating!

But the first time I completed such a super long film, the lack of experience exposed some shortcomings.

The main shortcomings, I think, are several:

First, the character portrayal is not enough, most of the characters are just symbols, which do not leave any impression on readers. The second is that the process of Dionya from rising to hegemony is too easy, and the impact and contradictions and conflicts caused by some unprecedented new systems formulated by the protagonist to the ancient West are too superficial, without more complex deduction and deeper excavation. Third, there is a lack of comprehensive control over the entire grand historical process in the book, which should be omitted and what should be detailed, and the countermeasures taken by the various powers in relation to the rise of Dionysa and the armed conflicts that took place with it are not well described......

The reason for these shortcomings, I think the first is that I lack pen power, limited talent, and can't plan and control the overall situation like those gods, and at the same time can write tens of thousands of words every day. The second is that there is not enough time, especially after the manuscripts are consumed, I have to go to work during the day, and I have housework at night, so I can only rely on some fragments of time to be able to update every day, even if the task is completed, there is no more time to carve the characters and plots in detail.

Another major reason is that the energy is not as good as before. Writing takes a lot of energy, and I like to put myself in the shoes of each character I conceive, imagining their emotional flow, their dialogue, and their reactions in battle...... The whole brain is running non-stop. More than 10 years ago, when I was writing "Campus Love", I was able to stay up late for a long time to write a book without feeling tired, and even after writing it, the whole spirit could still be immersed in it, and I couldn't get out for a while. Now, when I'm in my 40s, I get tired from thinking for an hour, and if there are patients to disturb me or have household chores to bother me along the way, I feel very irritable and it takes a lot of effort to get back to the situation I conceived, so I instinctively avoid making the plot more complicated so that I can complete the task more easily......

Anyway, this book is finished, but I have a lot of regrets, and these regrets will become the motivation for me to write the next one, I will spend a longer time to conceive the outline in detail, build the image and character of each character, improve the scene, and flesh out the storyline...... Hopefully, I'll be better than this by then.

I said so much at length, because I had a lot of reluctance in my heart, and I was reluctant to write it with all my heart's work, and I was reluctant to be separated from you who have always supported and encouraged me, and I hope I can get together with you again when I upload the next one, but this interval may be longer, because before preparing for the next one, I need to rest for a while, after all, I haven't been relaxed for more than 4 years, including during the Spring Festival.

Finally, I'll tell you a little secret, in my original idea, after Dioonia defeated Persia and became the hegemon of the Mediterranean, the whole text ended, and there was a postscript, but then I thought about it again and again, in order to leave it blank, and in order not to be obtrusive, so it was later deleted.

Now I will tell you the general plot of the postscript:

When the time came to 2020, when Xianyang City in country Z was vigorously renovating the old city, the construction team excavated an ancient tomb in the west of the Weihe Plain, and after archaeological experts identified the Chinese objects of the ancient tomb, it was believed that this ancient tomb was actually from the Dionian Empire, which dominated the West more than 2,000 years ago, and it was very likely to be the tomb of Davers, the founding emperor of Dionia.

This news shook not only the international archaeological community, but also the entire Western world.

You must know that in history, Dioonia was a large empire across Europe and Asia, ruling the West for three hundred years, in its heyday its territory not only included the whole of Western Europe, the whole of North Africa, the whole of Asia Minor and most of the Near East, and even extended its influence to Eastern Europe and India, although it eventually fell apart because of its own decline and barbarian invasion, but later generations of Western European monarchs with great talents and strategies all wanted to reproduce its glory, and there are countless Western literati and writers who fantasized and eulogized the greatness of that eraBut no matter how hard they tried, until today, the whole West is still a small country, difficult to complete the unification, the great deeds completed by Dioonia has always been only a beautiful vision for the descendants of the West, but also makes the cultural relics of the Dionian Empire highly respected by Westerners.

When this news spread all over the world, it was angrily questioned by countless Western people: how could Emperor Davos, who was respected by them as the first emperor of the ages, be buried in the country Z, which is thousands of miles away!

But soon, the current head of the family of Davers, the oldest and noblest royal descendant in Europe, publicly declared that this was very likely, and he also released some chapters of the words and deeds of the emperors of Dionia, who had always been secretive, emphasizing that the founding emperor Davers repeatedly mentioned to the second emperor, the "Loving One", Croto Kataz, who was known as the "Loving One", the distant kingdom of the East, and in his later years, Davers expressed his yearning for the Far East to the third emperor, Christophord, known as the "Wise". And claimed that Hades had given him several oracles in his dreams that after his death, it would be better to bury his clothes in a distant eastern country, so as to ensure the long-term stability of the empire.

Immediately afterwards, the most authoritative association of archaeologists in Europe also announced that they had carefully searched all the historical materials of the Dionian Empire, and found that during the reign of the fifth emperor, Salicius, known as the "conqueror", a large army of emissaries was indeed sent, allegedly to find the distant eastern country, but there was no historical record after that.

So there was an uproar in the West, and the people of every Western country marched and protested unanimously: if this is really the tomb of the great Emperor Davos, the government of country Z should return it to the West!

All Western governments have complied with the demands of the people and put pressure on the government of country Z.

In the face of strong international pressure, the government of country Z finally agreed: if this is really the tomb of Emperor Davers, then it is the wealth of all mankind and should be shared by all countries.

Soon, the Western archaeological team, led by the descendants of the royal family of Davers, joined the archaeological team of country Z, and at the request of the people of the world, the entire archaeological process was broadcast live.

Rusty gold crowns, helmets, gold breastplates, swords, rotten brocade robes...... After each object was removed from the tomb, the Davers family owner would tell some historical anecdotes about the object in vivid voices, and the audience in front of the television would be fascinated.

It is now possible to fully confirm that this is the mound of Emperor Davos.

The audience is looking forward to Chinese and Western archaeologists using modern technology to restore the former style of these objects as soon as possible.

A few days later, the gold crown, helmet, cuirass, and sword were all stripped of rust and shining brightly, and Western experts also found that the same inscriptions were engraved on these objects, but the experts on the Z side widened their eyes in surprise: because these inscriptions were the simplified Chinese characters of country Z!

……

Hehe, guess what those words are?

Dear brothers and sisters, let's see you in the next one!
