Chapter 28: The Struggle for the Successors (22)
After three days of sailing, we passed through the Bosphorus Strait into the Caspian Sea, and after approaching Ukraine, we changed again to a Ukrainian ship, and a day and a half later we returned to Mariupol, the eastern city of Ukraine and the headquarters of the XVII.
We went very smoothly along the way, just like Rebic Su Hong. There was no obstruction, no pursuit or pursuit. We are like real seafarers of a shipping company, and we returned to Ukraine on a ship without hurrying or even swaggering.
After returning to Mariupol, the injured were taken directly to the hospital by the people who came to pick us up, while the uninjured were all sent back to Paul's training base. Including Rebic also returned to Paul with us.
Shortly after we got back to base, before we could start resting. The old fellow Eunice came to the door with someone. On the way back, while still in the Mediterranean, Rebic had already informed the old fellow of our situation and gains.
And at this moment, the old guy also seemed very satisfied after seeing us. The facts should also be satisfied, after all, we have successfully eliminated two guys who have been confirmed to be NATO minions, and we have almost achieved the goals we set before.
Of course, Bodachev was still alive and was going to kill him. But then didn't you already think that Bodachev's old fellow might be a person who could be united?
Joining the old fellow Younis were Ivan and Semolov, after Rebic and Zhao Yi and I met in Paul's office and sat down. Rebic gave a detailed account of what happened to us in Greece in front of everyone.
After listening to the description, Eunice's face was rather ugly. It's not hard to understand, after all, what's the scariest thing? For someone like him, that's why the other side has such a clear grasp of the movements of our squad. This may well mean that there are still gaps in his system that he has no way of knowing about. Finding it is a time-consuming and laborious task, and it may not end up satisfying to you.
Although the old fellow didn't say anything explicitly on this issue, I think he will arrange for someone to check it out as soon as he returns, and I even think it is possible that we are still in the Mediterranean, and Rebic has already started to check it when he gave him his first report.
When ending the topic, when it comes to Milarov's cell phone and that guy from the Bulgarian intelligence agency. The old guy seemed to have a great interest in these, or rather in the Bulgarian. Because in his opinion, this person should be directly involved in NATO's operation against the 17th Bureau, should know some things on the NATO side, and even know the identity of the planner and commander of the entire operation.
The old guy Younis told us that he had arranged for someone to check the number and the information provided by Milarov, and that Semolov was specifically responsible for the matter. He believed that there would soon be some eyebrows.
Finally, we discussed the question of Bodachev. The old guy disagreed with his men Ivan and Semolov on this issue. This time, it was Semolov and Ivan who stood together, and the two of them agreed to continue the purge of Bodachev and his family members involved in the gang's affairs, as previously planned.
But the old fellow Younis meant the same thing as we said when we were in the Mediterranean, that he wanted to make contact and cooperate with the old fellow Bodachev. Although Ivan and Semolov felt that this would complicate things, and felt that perhaps at this moment Bodachev had already compromised with NATO and started to cooperate. But Younis still insisted on cooperating with Bodachev, even when Zhao Yi repeatedly said that Bodachev was extremely principled and never cooperated with people or organizations with government backgrounds, he did not waver or change in the slightest.
The old guy insisted on the fact that, first of all, he did not think that Bodachev would not necessarily resolutely refuse to cooperate with us for the sake of so-called principles. In his opinion, now Bodachev is not faced with a simple multiple-choice question of who to cooperate with or not with, but is facing a very serious problem of survival. Judging from the current situation, Bodachev was not chosen, then he must be the hostile party in the previous plan, and he will be suppressed or even eliminated. Perhaps the NATO side, with the kind of mind that Rebic said, will not play Bodachev to death at once. But for Bodachev, no matter what, his life will not be easy, to be precise, it will be very sad. He will feel dangerous, he will feel precarious.
So what options will Bodachev have in this case? Do you choose to work with NATO? On the surface, it seems that this is very likely, after all, as Zhao Yi said, Bodachev is a suitable candidate. But Younis doesn't think so, in his opinion, he has very little room for bargaining when he chooses to cooperate with NATO, and obviously because he has supported those two guys against him before will definitely make them estranged. In other words, Bodachev would feel that he was being forced to cooperate, and to choose the latter when it came to the dilemma of perdition and cooperation and perhaps a chance to be helped.
But Younis thinks that no one likes to make such a choice, and NATO must be talking about Nikki's relationship with Russia when it threatens Bodachev with demise. That is, to take the seventeenth game to carry out brutal revenge, Dimitri and Milarov both died in the hands of the seventeenth game one after another to intimidate Bodachev into submission.
So what if, in this case, the seventeenth inning takes the initiative to give Bodachev a third option? Let him rest assured and tell him that the Seventeenth Bureau will not retaliate against him, and that he can still maintain his power and his family business. And the premise is to maintain their own principles and not to cooperate with NATO. What will he choose? At this time, the deaths of Dimitri and Milarov not only did not bring any benefit to NATO to convince Bodachev, but in turn just showed that those who followed NATO did not end well. And when Bodachev refuses to cooperate with NATO, he has actually turned to us, at least it will make the NATO people feel that he has taken refuge in us. Then the final form will force him to really start working with us.
Of course, if Bodachev is really determined, then there is no need to rush to deal with him. Wouldn't it be better to look at his and NATO's movements first, and then let's clean it up?
I don't have much of an opinion on Eunice's analysis. Because in my opinion, the old guy's ability in this area is still quite good. More importantly, I do think that the old guy's analysis is reasonable, from my point of view, since NATO has already started a counterattack operation, and nearly a week has passed, then no matter who you work with, it is always right to take a look before trying to do it.
