"Shouldn't man be in awe of something unknowable? If there is nothing to fear...... Is it a good thing? ”

"You can explain the earth under your feet and the unpredictable moon, but you don't say a word about ghosts and gods, so you don't believe in ghosts, right?"

After thinking about it, he replied: "Sir, don't you think that ghosts and gods exist, isn't it also for the rule of the world?" If there are two things, the great rule of the world and the ghosts and gods, you can only choose one, which one do you choose? ”

Mozi smiled: "You don't have to ask me like this, I don't question your qualifications to be an inkman, there are many inkers who doubt the existence of ghosts and gods, but there are not inkers who don't practice righteousness." I can tell which is more important. I just thought that the two hermits would always know something to solve my confusion. ”

Shi asked tentatively, "Are you really confused?" ”

Mozi replied: "If the princes and nobles believed in the existence of ghosts and gods, would there be no unjust wars?" Sometimes I know that what I say is not the same thing as what you said about Tianzhi, but what you say is very reasonable, and it can be regarded as a kind of Tianzhi. I said to the princes and nobles that I would listen to the will of heaven: God likes people to love people, does not like unjust wars, wants people to love each other, and hopes that people will not be divided into ranks because of their blood......"

"If there is no such providence, if there are no ghosts...... Before you became a Mo, I had been hesitating about what to use to restrain these princes and nobles to do what was righteous and beneficial to the world. ”

Shi had already smacked a hint of taste, and before he joined the ink maker, it was when Mozi's serious illness caused the theory of ghosts and gods to be suspected.

Mozi said that before he joined, he couldn't figure out how to perfect his ideas to restrain the princes and nobles, and emphasized that he did not become a Mozi before.

Mozi couldn't think of a reason for the princes and nobles to happily accept the truth that everyone loved each other equally, so he wanted to use the ghosts and gods and tell them that it was what the heavens liked.

But in fact, Shi is very clear that if you want the princes and nobles to accept the truth that everyone is equal, there is no way to "happily" accept it except to beat them to the ground.

It is absolutely impossible not to kill people's heads and blood to flow like a river. It is impossible to be happy, and it is impossible not to shed blood, ancient and modern, Chinese and foreign, nothing can be.

Again, Mozi's theory of ghosts and gods cannot prevail, because he does not solve the problem of "where to go".

There is no heaven or hell, everything is the afterlife, which is too easy to prove non-existent, and too easy to question.

Heaven and hell are different, you can't prove that they don't exist in this world, but Mozi's theory of ghosts and gods is very much advocating the retribution of this world. It is always said that there are gods in the first three feet, but the problem is that the princes and nobles of those who fought unjustly are alive and well, and those who really believe in them cannot die anymore.

So don't talk about the princes and nobles, but most of the disciples don't believe it. There are almost no righteous people left today who think that ghosts and gods like people to do righteousness.

Shi felt that it was appropriate to have a showdown at this time, and asked rhetorically: "Sir, can't the law have the same effect?" If there is a rule that kills innocent people to death, then doesn't the law have the same effect as the punishment of demons and gods? ”

Mozi asked rhetorically, "Can the law be enforced?" Even if it can be inflicted on the people, then the princes and nobles who launched an unjust war, are they considered to kill innocents? Who will restrain them? ”

He stared at Shi with both eyes, and he felt that Shi knew that although the sword of the world he talked about last time made his heart move, he could feel that he had been watching people for many years, and Shi must have other ways, or the sword of the world was only half of what he said.

"Yes, I'm very old. But I can't do what I want like Jonny, because I follow my heart, but my heart is not the moment in the world today. Can the sword you call the world really be forged? The overseas countries you told me about have different politics, but they all have their own drawbacks, but they are missing only one thing. ”

"Isn't there a country that believes in the existence of ghosts and gods, is omniscient and omnipotent, and believes that if you do something wrong, you will be punished?"

Shi Shi looked at Mozi and thought of those kingdoms that would only exist in later generations, and replied solemnly: "Sir, there is such a country, but it is useless. This is the first thing to do, you don't know about such a country, but I really know. ”

Shi nodded firmly and replied: "Morality is a shadow, and the Promised Land is a thing." The promised land will change, and the shadow will change. The virtue of the past will not be the virtue of the future. Therefore, the preference of ghosts and gods is useless, if there are tens of millions of ink people in the world who believe that everyone is equal to the ministers of heaven, whether the princes and nobles believe it or not, they will eventually believe it. for the unbelievers are dead. ”

Mozi asked: "If there are no ghosts and gods who say that everyone should be equal, and if there is no Heavenly Emperor's will to like everyone to be equal, then how can the equality of people be believed?" Because few people believe that people are equal, how can there be tens of millions of ink writers? ”

Shi smiled and said, "Sir has thought of the simplest reason to argue, but if Sir thinks of a more difficult reason, can't he argue?" ”

"There is no need for such a reason as the preference of ghosts and gods, but simply to demonstrate the equality of human beings, the importance of the king of the law, and the source of power of the king and the courtiers...... Isn't that harder to refute? Isn't that easier to believe? Isn't it easier to stay alive? ”

Mozi smiled when he heard this, and asked, "Will you?" ”

"I don't know. This is a shadow, which needs to change before the world can understand it. Therefore, it is still necessary to benefit the world first, do more things that benefit the world, and let the world think and contend, so that more people have the opportunity to read and write, use straw silk, and listen to lectures. ”
