Chapter 272: The Battle of the Two Sons (9)

After firing a volley from the column in the central direction, they chose to charge, relying on heavy waves and fleeing spearmen, as well as arquebusiers who had not yet reloaded after the fire that had already been disturbed by the attack of the first camp, and quickly rushed away from the central direction.

The cavalry on the flank, after receiving the enemy's volley from the horizontal musketeers, also quickly launched a surprise attack on the Qi army formation that had been opened up.

However, in half an hour, the flank defense line of the right flank of the Qi army completely collapsed.

The Mo family used a vigorous way, did not reserve reserves, but fully deployed, risking a possible counterattack and a complete rout, breaking through the flank of the coalition's right flank in one fell swoop.

The cavalry after the breakthrough did not stop, but under the orders of the cavalry officer, they went straight to the Qi army behind the hillock.

Behind the hill, the commander of the right army of the coalition army knew that the flank could not withstand it, but he did not expect that the flank would collapse so quickly, but in a quarter of an hour, this could not give him enough time to adjust the deployment.

He originally thought that he would let the flanks push up, gather all the remaining forces by himself, and at the risk of being shelled by the Mo family's copper cannons, capture the hillock, and garrison on the top of the hillock, delaying the collapse of the right flank by shrinking his forces.

His plan was good.

On the side of the entire coalition army, he is the only nobleman who thinks of using the anticline to avoid the bombardment of the Mo family, and the only nobleman who can be regarded as turning passivity into an active inducement to induce the Mo family to fight with him on the hill to resolve his own disadvantage.

When he found out that the Mo family was covering through the sight of the hill, and the flank attack was actually attacking the flank with a feint, he also immediately thought of the tactic of occupying the hill to protect the right flank.

Since he had thought of the tactics of dodging the shelling on the anticline of the hill when he was arranging the formation before, he naturally understood what it meant to set up a formation on the hillock.

But he had to do it for the sake of the big picture.

The hillock is very important, and the key is that even if the flank collapses, the existence of this hillock makes the artillery, main force and cavalry infantry of the Mo family divided into two parts.

This made it impossible for cavalry and infantry to attack from the flanks bypassing the knoll and directly attacking the coalition center without friendly forces.

If the Mo family wants to win a decisive victory through the tactics of sweeping the right flank, they must first capture the hill, and then they can use the hill as a commanding height and support point, and integrate the troops in front and behind the hill, so that they can have enough strength to assault the central army of the coalition army.

Therefore, if he can concentrate his forces to counterattack the hillock successfully, even if he will be destroyed by artillery within an hour, it will also buy at least an hour for the central army and the left flank to adjust their deployment.

It is impossible to win, but at least you can gather your forces and hold out until dark, whether you choose to break through tomorrow or wait for reinforcements, there is always the strength to fight.

But he didn't expect the flank to collapse in less than a quarter of an hour, which left him with not enough time.

Seeing that the cavalry of the Mo family who had assaulted from the flank had begun to approach the rear of the hill, and the battle at the ridge line of the hill continued, the Mo family had stabilized the ridge line and used the loading advantage of the flint gun to gain a firm foothold.

General Qi gritted his teeth, drew his sword, and said loudly: "Gu Yun, the monarch is dead, the doctor is dead, and the soldier is dead." ”

"Scholars, if there is much conterminence, there will be perseverance. And those who have no permanent production but have perseverance are just soldiers. ”

"Those who we are fighting today are not the system of the king, but the system of the world, and the soldiers should die in the system, and they will be immortal!"

The maker can be big or small.

In a small way, it is the command of the king.

In general, it is the rules of the world.

The death of the monarch and the death of the doctors, there is no need to talk about it.

At this time, the so-called "soldier death system" system of the Qi generals was a system in a broad sense, and it was a system that divided the feudal system into feudal systems and distinguished the noble from the lowly.

Under this "system" in a broad sense, the spirit of the scholar is free in a certain sense.

For example, Wei Zhen was taught by Tian Zifang when he was a child: The rich and noble cannot be proud, and the poor can be proud.

Under the condition that the system remains unchanged, under the "system" in a broad sense, scholars belong to the world, and their allegiance is also the system of the world.

Therefore, the land controlled by the monarch is only a part of the world, so the scholars can be very proud.

As long as the system and rules of the world remain unchanged, your Wei State will not leave me arrogant and arrogant to me, and I will go to Han, Zhao, Qinqi with knowledge and ability, which is also in line with the "system".

Therefore, if the king is not polite to the corporal, the scholar can vote with his feet.

Therefore, at this time, the "scholar death system" mentioned by General Qi does not mean that he should be loyal to the monarch and die under the order of the king, but that the scholars should fight for the rules of the world, and the interests and freedom of the scholars should fight.

He sublimated the meaning of the war, telling the soldiers who could be mobilized that it was not for the king, but for the true righteousness and the system, that is, for themselves.

General Qi said: "In the past, Jin and Chu fought, and the Jin people returned to the corpses of Gongzi Guchen and Lian Yin Xianglao in Chu, in order to seek knowledge." The king said, 'Why should you repay me?' He said: "The minister does not allow him to be resented, and the king is not allowed to be virtuous, and he has no grievances and no virtue, and he does not know what to repay." The king said, "Though it will not be a valley." He said: "With the spirit of the king, the tired ministers have to return to the Jin, and the widow thinks that they are killed, dead and immortal." If he is exempted from the favor of the king, he will give the head of the minister other than the king; The first is to invite the widow to kill the sect, and he is also dead and immortal. If you don't get the order, and make the heir to the sect, the second thing is to do things, and the handsome teacher is to repair the territory, although he meets the deacon, he dares to disobey. He tried his best to die, and he had no two hearts, so he repaid him. The king said, "Jin is not to fight." 'Returning to it as a courtesy. ”

"What is immortality?"

"Zhiwuzi told us what immortality is, and also told us how the world is unchanging for a long time, and also told us what is the root cause of the Mo family's endless life, the martial king's ability to have the world with an inch of land, and the invasion of Yidi and the strength of Zhuxia."

"We, we should be immortals, why not die?"

The word immortal was the highest spiritual pursuit of the nobles at that time, and there were endless debates about what immortality was.

The immortality that the Mohists think is to make the world profitable, go to the soup and fire, and die without turning around, so that the total wealth of the world increases, the population of the people increases, and the people become rich, so as to achieve both non-aggression and love.

And the immortality that the nobility thought was another meaning.

The immortality in the concept of aristocracy in the original meaning is still Fan Xuanzi's words, that is the immortality in the mainstream three views of the aristocracy, namely: my ancestor is so-and-so, he was a nobleman in the Yu Dynasty, and he was still a nobleman in the Xia Dynasty.

At this time, the immortality in the words of General Qi instigating the scholars has another meaning.

Zhiwuzi was captured by the State of Chu, and when the prisoners were exchanged, the king of Chu asked him how to repay me if I released it to you?

Zhiwuzi said that you didn't take the initiative to let me go, but exchanged prisoners. After I go back, if the king kills me, then I will die a well-deserved death because of the defeat of the army, so I will die immortal, because my death is for the rules, and it is the king who killed me according to the rules, and my death itself is to maintain the rules and systems.

If the king doesn't kill me, but my father asks the king to give me death, and then my father himself kills me in my family's temple, then I will also be immortal. Because my death itself still upholds the rules.

If the king doesn't kill me, and my father doesn't kill me, but lets me continue to be a nobleman and inherit the status of the family, then when I am in office, the biggest reward for you is the king of Chu, that is, when you lead the army to attack Jin, I will go all out to fight you. This is also an example of being a courtier, maintaining the rules between kings and ministers, and this is also the greatest reward for you to release me.

In any case, the rules are the greatest, and dying for the rules, or not dying and fighting for the rules, that is immortality.

In a sense, the same is true of the immortality of the Mo family, it seems that the difference lies in the different "rules" of the behavior, so the Mo family avoids this meaning of "immortality".

This is one of the reasons why the Mohists have always pursued the principle of "political leadership".

Otherwise, there will be a strange view of history, and after the concept of the nation appears in later generations, it will be similar to the aggressor being a hero, the war criminal being a hero, and the murderer being a hero.

This view of history is absolutely unacceptable to the Mohists, so immortality in the Mohist sense must be a person who contributes to the interests of the people of the world, and who dies for the benefit of the people of the world and loves each other.

This is also the reason why the Mohists are "reversing the world and re-establishing the rules", to smash some things that existed in the past, reshape the three views of the world, and even reshape the definition of heroes, immortals, and so on.

The heroes under the three views of the Mo family may be thieves under the three views of the aristocracy, and whoever masters the present can master the past, so this is a drastic change in the world, not as simple as changing the dynasty.

Immortality, is good.

But how to be considered immortal is no longer the set of nobles, but has new definitions and standards.

At this time, the agitation of the generals was effective.

The system of death is the system that is beneficial to them, because these Qi nobles are not wanderers with no permanent property, but soldiers with fiefs.

Once the Mohists won the world, the system that favored these scholars would be completely destroyed, so the scholars had the obligation and responsibility to die for the system in the broad sense.

This is the material plane.

At the spiritual level, if you die for the sake of the system of the world, then spiritually, the person who dies for it is immortal, and immortality is one of the highest spiritual pursuits of the aristocracy.

Whether it is to leave a name in history, make meritorious contributions, or continue the family, in fact, they are all means of pursuing immortality under various interpretations of immortality in the so-called aristocratic spirit.

Death today is also a way to pursue immortality.

The nobles in the Qi army were full of blood, and when they heard the words, they drew their swords, took off their shirts one by one to expose their right arms, and each took the purple turban of the true five virtues of Qi and tied it on the top of their heads, and said excitedly: "If you die, you will die, and you should be immortal!" ”

Favoring the right is a sign of punishment and a sign of resistance.

At this time, there is a deeper meaning of favoring the right.

Favoring the right is to be punished.

Death is the greatest punishment.

Dying on the right side is an attitude of pursuing immortality through death: I am willing to suffer the greatest punishment, which is death, in exchange for the immortality of my spirit.

Coincidentally, this is fused with another meaning of favoritism that will appear later, forming the true meaning of favoring the right under the cultural accumulation of 2,000 years later.

When Zhou Boping rebelled against the Lu family in the Han Dynasty, he once said that he supported the right arm of the Lu family and the left arm of the Liu family.

In a sense, it coincides with the division between the left and the right in the era of the Europa Revolution: those who support the old forces are the right, and those who support the new forces are the left.

At this moment, it is precisely through hundreds of thousands of years that the right-hand has reached a kind of providence that seems to be doomed, and the rightist is conservative and reactionary in support of the old forces.

This time, the charge of the nobles of Qi State, the right, has since become a division of the three views of the world, which leads to the meaning of the left as radical progress and the right as conservative reaction, which is to change the accumulation under history, and will not mention it later.

At this time, more than 200 nobles of the Qi Kingdom each held short swords and organized a real charge that was not afraid of death.

The nobles lined up in front of the formation, leading the charge, followed by columns of Qi infantry gathered behind the flanks of the hillock, followed closely behind, hoping to capture the hillock at once and thus use the hillock to hold on.

On the ridge of the hill, the Mo infantry who had been loaded in the formation quietly held muskets, quietly looking at the nobles under the hill, with their right arms exposed, purple turbans on their heads, short swords, and chanting slogans.

The officer on the hill thought to himself, this was a massacre.

Then he calmly ordered the soldiers.

"Raise your gun!"
