In fact, this does not correspond to historical truth. Although the 106th Division of Songpu is a type B division, its combat effectiveness is not much inferior to that of a type A division because of its brave and fierce folk customs in the place where its soldiers come from, and because its soldiers are all retired veterans who have fought for many years. After the Battle of Wuhan, in the Battle of Nanchang in 1939, the main attack was the reorganized Songpu 106th Division, which performed well in the counterattack on Nanchang. In the first Battle of Changsha and other battles after that, the 106th Division of Songpu also fought extremely bravely and tenaciously.

The initial battle of the Nanxun battlefield was successful, and Okamura Ninji's attempt to attack head-on along the Nanxun Railway was thwarted.
