Chapter 25: Zhuangzi's Theory of All Things, Vernacular Texts (5)

Trying to argue about something, or an opinion, doesn't know that the end result is the same.

For example, what is the dispute between Confucianism and Mohism? Aren't the final results of the argument all the same? Isn't it all about how to manage society and how to make human life better? The end result is: how to make life better. Isn't it?

So! It's called "Chaosan"! What is Chaosan?

The monkey keeper gave the monkey acorns to eat, saying, "Three liters in the morning and four liters in the evening." The monkeys were furious when they heard this. The monkey keeper hurriedly changed his words and said, "So? Just four liters in the morning and three liters in the evening. When the monkeys heard this, they all rejoiced.

In fact! There were not many oaks given to the monkeys, just a different way of saying it. But! But the monkey thought it was too much.

Because! The argument is different, and the monkey is confused by the nice language and thinks that it is too much. The monkey keeper began to say that three days and four nights, and three in front. The monkey thought three was less than four, so he got angry. Outcome! The monkey keeper immediately changed his words and said that four were in the morning, and four was in front. The monkey thought four was more than three, so! And he rejoiced.

Here's why, monkeys are confused by nice language.

Like most of us, we were tricked like monkeys by others.

What is the argument between Confucianism and Mohistism? Confucianism or Mohistism, whose doctrinal views are correct? Is it the best? In fact! It's just a beautiful slang (lie) that can confuse the "monkey man".

Most of us have been tricked like monkeys, by the lie that the morning has become four and four is beautiful.

What was the purpose of the Confucian-Mohist controversy? In fact, they are all the same, all to make human life better. What did Confucianism argue with Mohists? But it's all about selling your own doctrinal views!

So! The ancient sages did not argue about right and wrong, did not look at problems from the perspective of this realm, hierarchy, and individual, and debated right and wrong. They understand things from a higher level, at a higher level, from the totality of things. Do not argue and judge who is right and who is wrong between Confucianism and Mohistism, whose doctrine and views are correct, and who is more conducive to human life. Instead, let it unfold freely and see the final result.

Of course! This is an example, not just a matter of the Confucian-Mohist controversy. Before this, there was no Confucianism or Mohistism. The meaning of this sentence is: The ancient sages looked at things, stood on a higher level, height, and realm, and grasped things as a whole.

For example! People, if we only look at the problem from the perspective of people, and only care about people and ignore other things, it will cause ecological imbalance. And we stand in the human and all things are a part of heaven and earth, we are a whole, from this height, realm, the whole to look at people, then! There will be no ecological imbalance, resource depletion and so on.

In ancient times, there were many people whose wisdom reached the highest level.

What is the highest level?

At that time, some people thought that at the beginning of the world, there were no concrete things, it was chaos, and the real things could not be seen with the naked eye.

This kind of understanding is the most remarkable, and it is also the most correct, so correct that it could not be more correct, to the point of no return.

Secondly, it is believed that things exist at the beginning of the world, and that those concrete things that cannot be seen are things, the Tao. It is believed that the Tao is chaotic, with no distinction or boundaries.

Secondly, there are concrete things in the world. And! There are also such and such differences between things. But! There is no argument between them, they maintain a situation where they are independent and irrelevant to each other.

Since human beings have an understanding, they have subdivided things, and they have divided each other, right and wrong, you and me, this thing, other things, and so on, and then subdivided things, which shows that it is scientific progress, but in fact, cognition has begun to deviate.

We only know how to subdivide things, but we forget to combine things and analyze things from a higher perspective, from a standpoint, and from a holistic perspective.

Like people! When we subdivide man from nature, he becomes different from other things. Human beings are distinguished from other things, and there is a distinction between animals and plants, and there is a distinction between earth, air, earth, rocks, minerals, and so on.

When we subdivide people, we have five internal organs, four limbs, and minds. If we subdivide it further, we can also subdivide our bodies and organs into countless types.

By analogy, just one person can subdivide countless new contents, and new and independent individuals can come out. For example, it can be subdivided into heart and lungs. liver, intestines, etc. But! We're going to put it all together, all of it! It's all about people! are all part of the human body.

In retrospect, what if we treat heaven and earth as a whole? Adult words? By analogy, human beings, like everything on earth, are only a part of the human being. Just like the five organs, limbs, bones, skin, and blood vessels in our human body, they are only a part of the human body.

So! Since human beings have come to this understanding, we are often unable to look at things from a higher perspective, and we are no longer able to look at things from the perspective of the Tao.

So! Our understanding of the Tao is skewed.

So! Our perception of things is skewed.

The main reason why we have a bias in our understanding of the Tao and our understanding of things is because we have a preference for certain things and are biased towards cognition.

Ever since we have preferences, preferences, and biases, we have taken care of one thing at the expense of the other, giving preference to the things we like, and not studying the things we don't like. Look at the problem from your own perspective and position, rather than from the perspective of the whole thing.

So! All their arguments and opinions are one-sided. So! The theories of Confucianism and Mohism are both one-sided, and they both look at problems from their own perspective and standpoint, rather than from the perspective of things as a whole.

Is that really the case? With prejudice, partiality, and favoritism, is there a deviation and misunderstanding of the perception of things? Do you have a misunderstanding of the Tao and cannot understand things comprehensively and correctly?

Is that really the case? Without prejudice, partiality, and preference, there will be no deviation and misunderstanding in the understanding of things? If there is no misunderstanding of the Tao, will we be able to understand things comprehensively and correctly?

With prejudice, partiality, and preference, there is the Zhao's drum and piano. Through her ability to distinguish the rhythm of music and combine sounds into beautiful music, Zhao has made her achievements in music. But? If we think that Zhao is an accomplished person, we have a one-sided understanding of life.

To know! Zhao is only accomplished in music, not in other areas. Music is just a part of life, and Zhao's achievements and success in music are only because she prefers this direction and has feelings and talents for this aspect.

If we think that Zhao is successful, this is life, and life should be to study the rhythm and play beautiful music. Everyone in the world plays music, doesn't farm or do business? So! Is there something wrong with our understanding? Is our understanding of things one-sided? Are we not looking at the problem from a holistic, holistic perspective?

So! Let's not think that Zhao's piano playing well, the farmer has a good harvest for a year, and the child gets a compliment, that is, if we give up other pursuits in life, then we have a problem in our understanding, and our understanding is one-sided.

What if we were free from prejudice, partiality, favoritism? Don't? Is there no deviation or misunderstanding in our understanding of things?

In fact! Just like Zhao didn't play music, Zhao didn't know how to play. Zhao doesn't play the piano, and without beautiful music, we don't have a sense of music. But! It's not that we don't have misunderstandings and misunderstandings.

Zhao's inability to play the piano and his ability to play music beautifully only shows that we do not have deviations in our understanding of Zhao's playing the piano and music, and in other aspects, as long as we are biased, biased, and favoritish, we will also have deviations in understanding.

Zhaowen is good at playing the piano, Shi Kuang is good at compiling music rhythms, and Hui Shi likes to talk high against the plane tree, and all three of them have reached the highest level in their respective professions! They all have great reputations, so! Their deeds have been recorded and handed down.

They all love their profession and feel that their level is higher than others; It is precisely because I love my profession that I feel that my level is higher than others. So! I always want to be able to show my professional level and let others know.

It is precisely because they want to express their own differences, that their professional level is higher than others. So! They ended up going biased.

Therefore! Hui Shi finally ended in the confusion that the color of the stone is white and the quality is independent of the stone; And Zhaowen's son also inherited his father's career, and did not reach his father's professional level throughout his life, and was not recognized by the world.

Can Zhaowen, Shi Kuang, and Keiko say that they are successful people? If yes! Then I also say that I am a successful person. If Zhaowen, Shi Kuang, and Keiko are not successful people, then! You, me, him, and everything in heaven and earth have not succeeded.

You are still the same you, I am still the same me, he is still the same him, everything in heaven and earth is still the same as it is, and it has not changed. Our survival problems have not changed because of the success of Zhaowen, Shikuang, and Keiko.

Survival is the problem we face, Zhaowen playing the piano, Shi Kuang compiling music rhythms, and Hui Shi talking about them are just an episode we encounter on the road of survival, an episode that adjusts the joy of life.

(In modern language, they are just "plays," plays for entertainment.) It's like a monkey or a clown in a circus, performing for entertainment. )

Therefore, all kinds of deceptive things, all kinds of ostentation, all kinds of propaganda and advertisements are despised and rejected by saints and wise people. On the road of survival, we must abide by and attach importance to what is conducive to our survival. We must despise and reject things that are not conducive to our survival. This is the real way to see things and things clearly.
