Everyone is already a "protΓ©gΓ© of the Son of Heaven", and you still treat him as a "child" who doesn't know anything, not to mention the difference between the old and the new, the distinction between Huayi and other conceptual issues, even self-esteem, and I can't accept it.
Guan Zhuofan wanted to instill these things in them from the stage of "childhood", or even earlier, from the time when the "scholars" did not have any name and a copper plate was not worth it. At that time, it was "a blank sheet of paper that is good for drawing". Also, and more importantly, these things are all "required questions", and they are the only way for "readers" to get ahead.

If you choose one of the two options, "Sticking to the Scriptures, Moyi" and "Shiwen", any "Chinese style" can be regarded as the "Chinese style" of the scriptures, and there is probably no fool in the world, and it will be difficult to abandon the easy, then the "Shiwen" - Baguwen will soon decline until no one cares about it completely.
When the time comes, it will be natural for "Shiwen" to withdraw from the imperial examination.
"Sticking to the scriptures and Moyi" is also based on Zhu Xi's commentary, which is no different from "Shiwen", on the surface, the "general direction" has not changed at all, so no one can blame Guan Zhuofan's "restoration".
In today's words, it is just to "reduce the burden" on the candidates.
All these changes have been implemented in the name of "giving readers better and more outlets", and if some people really want to speak out against it, I am afraid they don't know how to say it.
It is certainly Guan Zhuofan's desire to reform the imperial examination system and make it as useful as possible for me, but he also has a more ambitious goal: to restore the "current affairs policy" and send "current affairs guidance" to the "people-friendly construction and governance", so as to create a modern school throughout China.
