Chapter 5 The Slaughterhouse
What is now presented to Xu Jun and his officers is a slaughterhouse, a slaughterhouse that slaughters human beings.
"God......
The officers stared blankly at the horrific scene in front of them, and could only let out such lamentations in their minds.
It was hell worse than hell, and what was happening here was more brutal and bloody than these German Army officers could have imagined.
In front of Xu Jun and his officers was a huge clearing, which could have been a market or a square, but now Xu Jun and the others could not distinguish the original appearance of this clearing, because this clearing had been completely covered by blood and corpses.
The corpses were stacked on top of each other, pressed against the other, densely entangled. The blood gathered under the pile of corpses into blood-red streams, flowing slowly along the terrain towards the bottom of the clearing.
The victims were dressed in a variety of costumes, some ornate and some plain, but they all wore the same logo on their clothes, an armband with a blue six-pointed star on a white background. The victims ranged in age from 10-year-olds to able-bodied youths, from young children to infant babies. The expressions on the faces of these victims varied, and from their expressions you could see the doubts, anger, sadness, nostalgia and pain in their hearts at the moment before they died, and they all had one thing in common, their eyes were open, staring blankly and desperately at the sky.
Xu Jun and his officers were completely frightened by the bleak sight. The officers had also been through the rain of bullets and bullets, but it was rare to see so many corpses gathered together, even on the battlefield. Although they were accustomed to seeing blood and corpses, the hellish scene in front of them still gave them a strong shock in their hearts, and several officers turned their heads and vomited.
"It's cruel, even though they are all inferior Jews, but they are also God's created beings, and they can't be treated like this in any way."
"This is not a battlefield, and these people are not hostile soldiers, how can they be so vicious."
"It's a shame for the Germans."
"I don't believe that we Germans have done this, and whoever does such barbaric things is no longer worthy to be called a human being."
The officers were outraged by the crime they had seen, which, in their opinion, should never have been committed by civilized Germans.
Mueller looked at the corpse yard in front of him, his body trembling constantly, and he couldn't help himself with anger. It was unheard-of cruelty and barbarism, and if the rest of the world knew about the crime in front of him, Germany's reputation in the world would be completely ruined. The Germans will never think of raising their proud heads again in front of the people of other countries, which is a disgrace to all Germans, and such a thing would make people equate Germans with savage beasts. These goddamn murderers must not be allowed to continue, this must be prevented from happening again, and the price must be paid for the beastly acts.
"Sir! The massacre here has only just ended, and it seems that they have only been gone for a short time. Judging by the gunfire that is still coming from now, there must be another massacre going on ahead, and I feel that we should immediately go over and stop them. Mueller said loudly to Xu Jun.
"Yes, sir, we're going to stop those brutes!"
"They are beasts, no matter how inferior the Jews are, but they have been deprived of their citizenship rights, and they have been centrally controlled, they can no longer do any harm to our noble Germanic people, why should they be killed."
"It's miserable! It's simply the most tragic thing I've ever seen, how can they be human no matter how they say, how can they be slaughtered like livestock. β
The other officers also shouted angrily.
Xu Jun couldn't listen to a word at this time, and the scene like a Shura field in front of him completely shocked him. Although he was well aware of the Nazi Holocaust, he had seen countless footage of the Holocaust. But when he saw the scene of this genocide with his own eyes, he realized that the materials he had seen before could not describe the brutality of this massacre. The horror and cruelty of this kind of massacre cannot be described clearly in words, and this kind of deep and shocking bloody horror, this barbaric cruelty brings people a sense of psychological impact that people who have not experienced it cannot imagine.
Xu Jun originally thought that after the bloody battle of Arras and the countless scenes of flesh and blood, he should be able to withstand any miserable scenes. But he knew he was wrong now, and when he saw the babies in the pile of corpses who had been pierced by bayonets, Xu Jun's last line of defense finally collapsed, and he grabbed Hans's shoulders violently, bent down and vomited heavily.
"Sir! How are you! The officers hurriedly gathered over.
"Spread out, sir, you need fresh air."
Hans slapped Xu Jun on the back and shouted orders to the officer.
After a long while, Xu Jun finally stopped vomiting, and he had even vomited out yellow bile water. Xu Jun felt a sudden weakness all over his body, he took a handkerchief handed by Hans, wiped the dirt from his mouth, and then slowly walked to the corner of the street and sat down on the steps of an apartment on the side of the street.
"Sir, are you alright?"
Hans looked at Xu Jun worriedly, and now Xu Jun's condition made him very worried. Xu Jun's face was now pale and pale, with sweat on his forehead and a tired look.
"Sir, drink saliva first."
Dogan handed over a kettle. Xu Jun hurriedly took the kettle, then tilted his head and began to pour water in large gulps.
"Whew, I'm finally recovering."
Xu Jun put down the kettle, wiped his mouth with his sleeve, and let out a sigh.
"Sir, you're all right, what are we going to do next?"
Muller squatted in front of Xu Jun and looked at Xu Jun.
"Are we going to move on, this filthy slaughter continues, and we should stop them now."
Xu Jun shook his head, stood up, and asked loudly to the officers, "Do you think the same as Ensign Muller?" β
"Yes, sir. We already understand perfectly well what you have said to us, which is indeed a disgrace to Germany, and that this crime would cause great damage to the reputation of our great Germany. We, as the defenders of Germany and as glorious German officials, must not turn a blind eye to this evil, and we must prevent it from continuing. A junior officer stepped forward and replied, and the other officers nodded in agreement.
"Very good, you didn't disappoint me, I'm happy with your performance. We're going to go to the slaughter there, and we're going to see what kind of troops can do something like this. However, I ask you to be patient when you get there and not to act to stop them from slaughtering. β
Xu Jun's words surprised everyone.
"Sir, are you alright?"
"Sir, why should we be patient!"
"Sir, you saw what they did, too!"
"Sir, didn't you tell us personally before, as a qualified moral officer, you must prevent this cruel crime from happening in front of you? Why do you want us to ...... now?"
The officers shouted in unison.
"Everyone, be quiet! Is this your attitude towards your superiors? There must be a reason for the chief to say this, everyone should have understood our chief's personality a long time ago, and he will not let such a barbaric and evil thing happen in front of him. MΓΌller loudly stopped the clamoring of the officers.
Xu Jun looked at the excited officers and said slowly: "I'm glad that everyone has this kind of reaction after listening to my words, this is the character that noble moral officials should have." I was going to rush to the scene of the massacre over there to stop those brutal crimes, just as you thought.
But when I saw the innocent civilians being killed now, my mind changed. Even if we get there right now, what can we do? Do we threaten them to lay down their arms by force? From these corpses, it is clear that those who carried out the massacre have completely lost their sanity and humanity. And their number must be very large, otherwise it would not have been possible to slaughter so many people in a short period of time. We now have only thirty-eight men, and if we stop them by force, we will surely suffer if these people try to resist in a frenzy. Even if the other party exchanged a thousand of these beasts for one of my good officers, I would not be able to tolerate it.
Of course, I can use my identity to order them to stop this slaughter, but I think it's better to hide my identity for now. Because only then will they continue to carry out their crimes with impunity in front of us, and we will be able to know exactly which troops are involved in this crime. We can find out who is behind this incident from these participating troops, and then I can punish those culprits so that this thing will not happen again. Otherwise, we'll only be able to hit some of the small shrimp that are executed, and the big fish hiding behind them will get away with it, and when we get out of here, maybe it will happen again.
Of course, my decision is very unfair to the Jews who are now being slaughtered. But their sacrifice now will be exchanged for the same fate for countless of their compatriots in the future, and their sacrifice is still worth it. You now understand my painstaking efforts.
As soon as we got out of there safely, we immediately went back to the hotel to restore our true identity, my vacation has been ruined by these guys, and I must make the guys who planned and directed it pay. β
"Yes, sir!"
After listening to Xu Jun's explanation, the officers suddenly realized, it turned out that what the commander wanted was to catch the mastermind, if he went to stop the slaughter now, he was indeed startling the snake, although he could arrest the soldiers and officers who carried out the execution, but those masterminds would definitely find a reason to get out of the matter. And it would have been miserable if there had been a firefight involving the general while he was stopping those madmen, and in any case he could not let this happen, and he could not let the greatest military genius and leader of Germany suffer any harm.
"Well, now that everybody understands what I mean, let's move on and remember, no matter what you see, no matter how ugly what happens, no matter how angry you are, bear with it. Gather as much information as possible about the perpetrators of the massacre and gather evidence of the massacre. Recognize the faces of those commanders. Remember, as long as we remember these things, we can only take action against them tomorrow. Do you understand? β
"Understood, General."
The team began to move again, and Xu Jun and his officers bypassed the square far away, and made their way to the place where the gunshots were still ringing out.
After rounding two street corners, a slaughtering ground came into view. "These ...... Brute! Hans cursed viciously.
All the officers were inflamed by the sight before them. It's also a clearing about the size of the square you passed by, but it's not supposed to be a square, but a well-groomed construction site.
It seems that the massacre here has come to an end, and as seen earlier, countless corpses are piled up in the clearing. The slayers of Jews were herded like cattle, and then they began to shoot desperately, waiting for the Jews to fall and then rush to another group.
Huge numbers of Jews were constantly being carried by soldiers from other streets to the slaughterhouse, and all kinds of screams and screams were constantly heard from the ranks of the Jews, and some young Jews tried to resist, only to be beaten into a honeycomb by the soldiers who were guarding them. Gunfire and screams echoed throughout the slaughterhouse.
Xu Jun and the others stood on the edge of this slaughterhouse, suppressing their anger and disgust, silently watching the murderers happily carry out their crimes.
The officers were carefully distinguishing the ranks and unit insignia of the fellows, and they carefully memorized the faces of each and every slaughter commander. Most of the slaughterers wore black SS uniforms, and a large number were German security guards.
There were no army soldiers, which made those German officers breathe a sigh of relief, they were really afraid that there would be officers and soldiers of the German Army involved in the slaughter, and then the glory of the German Army would really be tarnished.
Xu Jun's two SS adjutants were already on the verge of being blown up, and they felt that the SS's reputation would be wiped out after this incident, and they were now gritting their teeth and staring at the SS members who were laughing and shooting, determined to let these guys know what kind of severe punishment they would face if they tarnished the SS's reputation after they were restored.
An unexpected event happened, a little Jewish girl suddenly escaped from the team and ran out of the slaughterhouse, crying and screaming. Several SS soldiers immediately roared and chased after them from behind.
This little girl was too small, only six or seven years old at most, dressed in a beautiful pink children's dress, with beautiful blonde hair and permed curls, and seemed to be a child of a wealthy family. She was now crying out loud as she stumbled between the corpses.
Her size gave her an advantage in the race against the few SS men, who could not run at all among the corpses, and they tried to catch up with the corpses on the ground, and were sometimes knocked down by them.
After the little girl frantically climbed over the pile of corpses, she turned around and ran straight in the direction where Xu Jun and the others were standing, and it seemed that she was already frightened.
The SS soldiers who were chasing her came to a halt after climbing over the piles of corpses, and they took aim at the little girl with their rifles. As a result, at this time, they found Xu Jun's group standing on the edge of the slaughterhouse, and these SS soldiers hurriedly put down their rifles.
How could there be an army officer? The SS soldiers were all very strange, and now that the German ** officers and the little Jewish girl were in a straight line, they did not dare to shoot casually, and if they missed one of the officers, then their days would be over.
They picked up their rifles and followed the little girl and walked slowly towards Xu Jun.
Muller grabbed the little girl when she was about to bump into him, and then he realized that the little girl was running with her eyes closed in front of her, no wonder she would rush towards their group of German ** people. When the little girl opened her eyes and saw that it was a German ** officer who had grabbed her, she immediately let out a piercing scream, and then began to struggle desperately to escape Mueller's palm. Xu Jun and the other officers looked at the poor little girl sadly, and it seemed that she was indeed frightened.
At this time, the SS soldiers also rushed to Xu Jun and them, and one of the sergeants led by him saluted Xu Jun and said loudly: "Mr. Captain, thank you very much for helping us catch this damn Jewish imp, please let that second lieutenant give that little ghost back to us."
Xu Jun looked at the SS soldiers with disgust, and asked coldly: "What will you do with her after handing her over to you?" Of course, like other Jewish imps, don't you see it? Hahahaha." The SS sergeant replied with a smile. Well, I'm very sorry you can't take her out of my hands, and now I declare that this Jewish girl has been taken over by the German Army. No one should try to take anyone out of our hands unless ordered to do so by the Army Command. Do you see what I mean? Sergeant."
