Chapter 512: The Shipbuilding Boom in the Far East

The large sail carrier was named the Mountain class, and the first two ships to be launched were the "Huashan" and "Taishan". The main purpose of the ship is to meet the needs of maritime transportation, so from the beginning of the design, every effort has been made to improve the transportation and loading capacity of the ship.

The hull has five decks, and most of the remaining three decks are used as cargo holds, except for the fourth deck and the bottom deck. In order to meet the needs of transporting displaced people, the three main cargo compartments can be equipped with four additional folding berths, and the third cabin is equipped with a complete ventilation system to maintain the air circulation inside the cabin. The number of displaced persons has also been increased, provided that the living conditions have been guaranteed.

If the carrier needs to deliver cargo later, the folding sleeper can be loaded and unloaded in a matter of hours. The sailors on board also optimized as much as possible to ensure that the ship could carry more displaced people and cargo.

A large transport aircraft sailboat can carry a large number of displaced people, and at least 1,500 displaced people can be transported under short-distance extreme transport conditions. Moreover, the cargo hold is also equipped with a variety of modular components, which are convenient for the placement and storage of various goods, and the modular components can be easily replaced in just a few hours.

There is a steam-assisted lifting platform system between the three-level cargo hold and the deck for easy loading and unloading of cargo, and several steam-powered lifting systems on the deck of the vessel allow for autonomous loading and unloading of cargo at the harsh port terminals.

The large sail carriers (relatively weakly armed, usually armed with only four twin water-cooled heavy machine guns, reserved for artillery, if necessary, can be loaded with two naval version of the 75 mm guns with extended barrels.

In addition, the ship is equipped with a large military radio, an internal wired telephone system, two diesel generators, four pumps, four searchlights, a fire line system, and twelve lifeboats on deck. And the ships also reserve a place for the installation of radars, and if necessary, small civilian navigation radars can be installed.

Several ships of the ocean exploration fleet were in a hurry because of the deadline. There was no radar installed, and as a result, in the fog of the English Channel, countless white-skinned sailing ships waited for rabbits, and they were beaten with blue noses and swollen faces. Therefore, the Admiralty deliberately proposed to reserve a location for the installation of radars in preparation for the Admiralty to carry out long-range projection of land combat forces in the future.

Moreover, in the future, all the main aircraft and sailing warships of the Far East Navy will be equipped with a small civilian navigation radar. These radars are the equipment reserved by the company for the follow-up advanced warships, and now they are simply taken out, after all, the equipment can be developed, but it takes more time and resources to train an experienced naval officer and soldier.

The Admiralty has also put forward requirements for this class of large transport aircraft sailing ships, each large transport aircraft sailing ship can carry the strength of one reinforced battalion of the army, as well as a full set of equipment and supplies, to meet the high-intensity combat needs of the reinforced battalion for three months. And it guarantees 150 days of self-sustaining at sea. 10,000 nautical miles of delivery capacity.

The shipyard has also designed a set of bulletproof components, which can be installed in only half a month, to meet the anti-gun and anti-scatter capabilities of various key parts of large transport aircraft and sailboats, and to meet the basic bulletproof requirements of low-intensity naval warfare.

In addition, the Lushun shipyard has also developed a transport vessel that can travel in the Yellow River Valley. The design requirements are: the cabin and deck together can carry more than 100 mountain and Shaanxi people, the length of the ship is 26 meters, the width of the ship is 4.5 meters, the draft is 2.5 meters, and the load is 80 tons. The hull is a wooden mechanism. The key parts are reinforced with stamped steel plates, and six compartments are used.

The hull is transversely hexagonal. The longitudinal front is gentle, the aft part is high and flat with the deckhouse, the roof is equipped with two black canopies, and the middle of the hull is equipped with a pair of hard sails, the rigid sails are 2-2.5 times the width of the ship, and the mast height is equal to the length of the ship. It can reach speeds of up to 6 knots downwind and can sail against the wind.

The stern of the ship is equipped with a diesel engine, which can travel 1,500 kilometers at a speed of 7 knots. The section of the Yellow River from Yuntiguan to Henan is about 700 kilometers, and it only takes 6 days to make a round trip without the need for wind.

The Lushun shipyard is producing several verification vessels, due to the fact that they are only river boats traveling on the Yellow River. Therefore, the difficulty of production design is not high, and the production and construction method of modular components is adopted, and if Lushun Shipyard is at full power, it can produce and build at least more than 100 ships a year.

The shape of this kind of ship adopts a river boat type of salt transportation in the Ming and Qing dynasties, which has the advantage of making full use of the wind, the hull draft is shallow, and the resistance is small, so the fast sailing performance is good. Not only can you drive on all the rivers of Daming at will, but you can also sail along the rivers and coastal waters, and the concealment is good, and it will not be eye-catching.

If this kind of Yellow River transport ship has been verified and tested, and various parameters meet the design requirements, it can be built in large quantities in the future, and various tasks can be carried out by using the rich waterway environment such as the Yangtze River and the Yellow River in the Ming Dynasty.

With this kind of inland river transport ship, in the future, the company will carry out immigration in Daming, you can not be limited to Henan, you can go deep into the Huguang area along the Yangtze River to carry out immigration actions, and you don't need to carry out centralized transportation, you can carry out long-term immigration actions, and ensure that there is a steady stream of immigrants from all over Daming every year to go to sea.

Next year's Vladivostok shipyard will have a heavier task, not only to produce large transport aircraft sailboats, but also to refit dozens of sailing ships. The same is true of the Lushun shipyard, which not only has to ensure the production of river engine sailboats, but also refits dozens of ordinary sailboats.

Fortunately, at present, the production tasks of the Far Eastern Navy's clippers and stroop sloops have been basically completed, so although the tasks next year are heavy, they can still be completed by working overtime. It's just that this year they will be recruiting a large number of apprentices to prepare for next year's production and construction tasks.

The company has decided to build a new shipyard in Manila, which will focus on the construction of clippers and slupp sloops. The production tasks of the Vladivostok and Lushun shipyards for almost two years were so heavy that the Admiralty simply could not continue to place new orders.

However, if you want to control this area, you need at least 100 clippers and slutsticks to join the battle sequence of the Nanyang Fleet, and cooperate with various guerrilla fleets composed of more than 1,000 pirate junk ships to carry out daily patrols and vigilance.

Therefore, the construction of the Manila shipyard has become urgent, but fortunately, the two ships have been assembled and produced using modular components, and the production is not very difficult. Moreover, the two major shipyards in the Far East have accumulated rich experience in the production and construction process in the past few years, and have also trained a large number of experienced shipbuilding industry workers. Moreover, there are a large number of Chinese shipwrights along the coast of Daming and in the South Seas, all of whom can be recruited into the newly built shipyards in Manila through various means.

After the Manila shipyard was completed and put into operation, relying on the experts and technicians drawn from the two major shipyards in the Far East, as well as a large number of skilled industrial workers, supplemented by a large number of Chinese shipwrights, after a period of running-in, the annual output is not small, and there should be no problem in assembling and building dozens of clippers and slupp sloops.
