Chapter 947: Vladivostok's Apprenticeship

In the past few days, the standing committee members and members of the board of directors of the company have inspected the enterprises in Vladivostok during the day, and have gone deep into the dormitories of various enterprises in Vladivostok and visited the homes of workers at night. Chatted cordially with the ordinary employees at the grassroots level, learned about their daily life and work, and also brought them the greetings of the board of directors of the company.

In the course of the visit, the members of the Standing Committee of the Board of Directors and members found that the employees of various enterprises in the Vladivostok region are in good condition in all aspects. Everyone is very enthusiastic about their work and has a deep sense of belonging to the Far East Company.

The immigrant employees arranged by the Far Eastern Company in Vladivostok are basically craftsmen from the Ming Dynasty, and some craftsmen from Japan, Korea and various regions of the South Seas. Last year, a number of artisans from India were sent in, and they were all assigned to various companies as apprentices, and they are currently undergoing various trainings.

Among these people were blacksmiths, carpenters, jewelers, jewelers, coppersmiths, armourers, smithsmen, and so on. After being sent to Vladivostok, they must also be registered and purified in advance, and then go through three months of intensive training.

During the training camp, they had to undergo physical training, as well as training in organizational discipline such as queues and internal affairs, and the instructors were all from the backbone of non-commissioned officers of the Far Eastern Army stationed near Vladivostok, and the intensity of the training was very high.

There is also literacy training and political and ideological education, and although the time is very short, the training tasks are still very tight. The instructors of the various units of the Far Eastern Military Commission were trained extremely strictly, and for three months, they were scolded from morning to night, and they were waiting with sticks and whips, so that even the most stupid people could successfully complete all kinds of training subjects and basically solve the problem of literacy.

It is even more difficult for foreign migrant employees, who are also required to be able to understand Mandarin for three months. They can also conduct simple Chinese conversations, as well as recognize and dictate hundreds of commonly used Chinese characters.

This may seem like an impossible task to the average person, but in the apprenticeship camp in Vladivostok, none of the apprentices passed the post-training skills assessment.

In fact, people are afraid of being forced, if the knife is on your neck. You can do a lot of things that you couldn't do before. Although the training camp did not threaten with knives, in the past three months, if someone dares to be lazy and slippery, beating and scolding or something, it is pediatric, just a variety of tricks and ways to rectify people, you can make life worse than death.

Anyway, the instructors are all from the Military Commission, and after the training is over, they will return to the troops, so they will not talk about any feelings at all. In fact, there are no stupid people in these craftsmen themselves. As long as you are willing to endure hardships and work hard, you can complete various training subjects.

After three months of intensive training, each company will send someone to bring back the apprentices from their respective units. They will all be placed in an apprenticeship dormitory where they will spend a long time to come.

The treatment of the apprentices is actually quite good, living in a standard woodcarved house, each room is a standard bunk for ten people, and the usual three meals are also eaten in the apprentice canteen. Their clothing, bedding and daily necessities are distributed by their respective businesses. The conditions are much better than those of the company's placement.

Their company issues a small number of centimeter invoices every month, although not much. However, the company is responsible for the food, clothing, and housing of the apprentices, and there are basically no other expenses.

Newly assigned apprentices will do chores in the factory for three months in the first few months, and there is a special person to familiarize themselves with the factory area and carry out basic training. They also go to night school every day, mainly to learn the rules and regulations of their enterprises and the basic business of each type of workshop work.

and other apprentices who have passed the evening school examination. will be arranged for internship in front-line production positions. Each apprentice will be assigned to the old staff to learn in a mentoring way, and some of the better qualified apprentices will be selected and assigned to various key technical positions for special training.

In June and December every year, there are two regular employee assessments. As long as they pass this assessment, the apprentice will become a regular employee of the company. In Vladivostok, apprentices can basically pass the regular assessment after one or two years of ordinary jobs in general enterprises.

Of course, some of the more technical positions, the time to become a regular is longer, such as thermal power plants, machinery factories, hardware mold factories and other key technical positions, many apprentices after a five-year internship period, finally passed the regular staff assessment.

These key technical positions are also the places that apprentices most want to go to, once they pass the regular assessment, the salary and various benefits are very high, even several times more than ordinary positions.

Although these positions are difficult to pass, they are still highly sought after by apprentices. Just want to become an apprentice in these key positions, without exception, the best talents in the previous apprentices, can be selected.

The apprenticeship system in the Far East has been in place for several years, and most of the people who can become apprentices in various enterprises in the Far East are immigrants from various craftsmen, and when they first register in Liaodong, they will be directly transferred to Vladivostok.

After several years of hard work, various enterprises in the Far East have trained hundreds of thousands of industrial workers, although there are quite a few of them, but most of them are employees of enterprises in ordinary positions. In many key positions, only a small proportion of qualified industrial workers are trained.

To this end, the company has set up a number of professional technical schools in Vladivostok, and selected some young people from among the displaced people who have performed well in literacy activities, and then sent them to these technical schools for further study.

The relatively outstanding fresh graduates from schools in the Far East have also been sent to the staff technical schools of various enterprises for study. After two to three years of study and one year of internship, they can directly participate in the regular employee assessment after graduation.

Even so, the industrial and mining enterprises of the Far Eastern Company still lack a large number of industrial workers, as long as they are reflected in the technical jobs in various key positions, almost every enterprise is lacking.

This is not a matter of urgency, for example, it often takes several years for machinery factories to train an experienced lathe operator, senior welders and other technical jobs in various enterprises, and it often takes several years to fully mature.

Like the mold fitters of the hardware mold factory, the company has tried its best to get a few from the modern society. If they want to train a large number of qualified mold fitters, it will take a longer time, and even more than ten years of continuous learning and accumulation will take place before they can finally stand alone.

The lack of a large number of skilled workers has now become a stubborn problem in the development of Far Eastern companies. Moreover, it is a problem that cannot be solved in a short time, and this problem can only be completely solved through continuous accumulation and enough patience and years of hard work. (To be continued.) )
