Crocodile-class landing ship 2

Note: The lead ship entered service in Kaliningrad in 1966. The last one ship of the class was completed in 1976. BDK on the model name means large landing ship. There are several Type 3 ships in service with Ukraine. This class of ships is equipped with a bow and tail tongue gates. The bridge structure of the Type 3 ship was raised, and the bow deck was added to install the bombardment rocket launchers on the opposite shore. The Type 4 ship was similar to the Type 3 ship, except that 2 twin 25mm guns were added to the center line after the superstructure. In addition to 1 tank deck that extends 91.4m along the hull, there are 2 smaller deck areas and 1 cabin. In the 80s of the 20th century, ships of this class were often seen in West Africa, the Mediterranean and the Indian Ocean, and usually carried infantry units on board. Half of the ships of this class have been scrapped or dismantled. Of the remaining ships, 2 are in the Black Sea Fleet, 2 in the Pacific Fleet and 1 in the Baltic Fleet. In 1995, 1 ship was sold to Ukraine.
