Chapter V: Orders
Hammamet, an ancient city located in the northeast of Tunisia, has a wide and beautiful white sand beach along the coast. If it weren't for the war, it would have been a tourist attraction.
We got off at a group in the northern part of the city of Hammamet, Hans went to consult with the quartermaster about the details of the equipment, and Leona and Vincent and I went to assemble our own crew. A group of soldiers in front of us were laughing one after another, their eyes fixed on a soldier dancing with his back to us.
Vincent walked over quickly and put his arm on the soldier. And the soldier was bending over like a monkey and making some strange movements, and Vincent was frightened and instinctively straightened up, but the top of his head was bumped against Vincent's chin. Both of them were in pain at the same time, covering their chins and heads respectively, and the scene suddenly became more funny, and everyone couldn't help but laugh.
"Alright, alright. Everyone finds their own commander, and each commander briefly explains the task, and then disbands and starts eating. "After I gave the order, the soldiers quickly assembled.
"Let me introduce myself, I'm Valtrod, your commander, and the commander of this squad." I introduced myself to the four people in front of me.
"And then it's me, my name is Roy! I'm in charge of communications, and I like the radio station the most. The next answer was the soldier who had just staged a comedy scene with Vincent, his blue eyes set on that energetic face, and he seemed to be more energetic than Vincent.
"Hi sir, my name is Stein, and I'm in charge of the loader's duties." Then came a powerful voice, and looking at it, it was a sturdy young man. The neat short hair and calloused palms undoubtedly indicate that he was originally engaged in heavy physical work.
"Don't look at his stupid appearance, in fact, he is old, and loading shells is definitely not a problem for him." Roy added.
"Tell me who? Who is stupid? Stop, stop, don't run! Stein made Roy stutter in anger. I wanted to grab Roy with my hands and fix it severely, but Roy had already escaped like a monkey.
"Hello, sir. I'm Yorkson and I'm the driver. "In front of him was a handsome young man. With curly blond hair on his head, his expression is a little lazy, and he can even be said to be a little listless.
"Don't look at him like this, as long as he gets in the car, then he will be a different person." The last person who hadn't been introduced came over and put his hand on the shoulder.
"You drunkard still have the face to talk about me? Don't mind, sir, he's my countryman, Nattel. "Yorkson gave a brief introduction to Natel.
"Please advise me in the future, I am the gunner of your crew." I shook hands with Natle in front of me. Looking at his appearance, with short black hair and logo facial features, he gives people a sense of down-to-earthness.
"What does it mean to change someone? And that 'big drunkard'. I turned my gaze to Nattel and asked in a curious tone.
"It's interesting to say otherwise. Yorkson played with me as a kid and was always listless. Ever since we were fourteen years old, I took him to steal Uncle Jack's keys and touch his car, and the moment he put his hands on the steering wheel, his eyes changed. Since then, he's been able to drive as long as it's a vehicle, and he's like a madman! With that, Nattel deliberately put his hands on either side of his face and made an exaggerated gesture.
"Don't listen to his!" Yorkson pressed Nattell's head down, and he said, "This guy is a complete drunkard. When he was a child, he was drunk by bad adults at a big dinner, and who knows that since then, he will never forget that taste. He really drank all kinds of wine, I still remember that he didn't know where he got Oriental wine, so strong wine can be poured as much as he wants, what a monster. If you don't believe him, sir, you can search him, there is definitely wine in the package on his body! Yorkson's hand was groping around Nattle at this time, presumably trying to find Natle's hidden bar. Nattel, on the other hand, began to fight back, entangled with Yorkson.
Looking at the four people scurrying in front of me, I sincerely sighed that it is really a good thing to have such a "lively and active" crew.
Soon, we had dinner. It was the only time in the past two days that I had a stable meal, and everyone had a good time. However, I saw Nuttell, who was sitting across from me, feeling a steel kettle out of nowhere, and though I had expected it, the strong smell of wine wafting through him the moment he unscrewed it convinced me that Yorkson's words were not wrong.
Natle noticed my strange appearance and handed the flask to me. "Brandy, Spanish." I hurriedly waved my hand, indicating that he would just enjoy himself
After the meal, we finally got to see our most important piece of equipment - the tank. When the camouflage net was lifted, four brand-new tanks appeared.
"This is the IV. type F2, the latest cargo. We're going to make a fortune this time. Hans whispered beside me: "Equipped with a 75mm KwK40L/43 barrel main gun, there is nothing we can't penetrate!" In addition, the armor of this model has also been strengthened compared to the previous model, and the defense has been further guaranteed. ”
"We assigned the chariots, and I belonged to the number 217, Hans the number 178, Vincent's number 403, and Leona's number 716." After assigning the vehicles to the respective crews, I took my crews and got into my tank.
Once we've figured out where we are, we become familiar with where we stand in each other. On my left front is Nattel, to the left of the turret, operating the main gun and a coaxial machine gun; In the lower left is Yorkson, who is responsible for driving the tank; In the lower right is Lowy, responsible for the tank's communications and a machine gun on the hull; On the left is Stein, who is responsible for reloading ammunition; And I myself was located directly below the viewing hole at the rear of the turret.
Looking out from the observation hole, the line of sight is not very wide. Just as I was getting acquainted with this field of view, there was a knock on the front of the car, and then Hans's voice was heard.
"Trode, come out to discuss the next step of the battle, and the order given to us has come down."
