It is said that this tactic of rope landing was also invented by the Soviets...... Don't look at the Soviets sometimes do a lot of swaggering in weaponry, but there will be many unexpected innovations in tactics, and this rappel is one of them......

It is said that the Soviet Union first invented this tactic to combat domestic terrorists, that is, the "Alpha" forces were the first to use it...... The purpose is to change the restriction that most of the urban warfare can only be attacked from downstairs...... If the terrorists are upstairs, they will undoubtedly occupy many advantageous positions, such as the upstairs has a wide view and a wide range of activities, while the attacking side will be limited by the narrow corridor and other environments.

On the other hand, the rooftops are often not suitable for airborne...... At this time, there are often many chaotic facilities on the house, and these things will always twist into the helicopter's propagulation with the air flow at unexpected times, or it will cause an accident due to the chaotic air flow that makes the helicopter unable to balance it.

But with the tactic of "rope dropping", it is different...... The helicopter does not need to land directly on the roof at all, it is usually about ten meters from the target, so those terrain restrictions do not exist...... Then the special forces can "smack" a few times along a few ropes...... Reach the roof safely within minutes...... Generally, it takes two minutes, and the limit state is one minute to land safely.

Needless to say...... Special forces can cooperate with ordinary troops to attack targets from above and below at the same time, and even more...... If the information is detailed enough and the conditions allow. It is also possible to rappel directly from a helicopter, and several special forces break into the terrorists' rooms through the windows and launch a surprise attack!

These rappellings are not substantially different from helicopter rappelling, if only what is the difference...... That is, the helicopter rappelling is completely suspended. And it has a very stable fixed point like a rope drop on the high ground...... The other end of the rope is tied to the helicopter, and from time to time it will shake with the helicopter a few times, coupled with the roar of the helicopter propeller and the air flow around it...... There is still a certain amount of psychological pressure on the rappelling personnel!
