Chapter 635: Crouch who came back early
As Ivan thought about it, Moody's pace suddenly stopped, causing him to nearly hit the wall.
Ivan looked up indignantly to ask, only to find that Barty Crouch's office was close at hand, and they had arrived!
"Hold your wand, Hals!" Moody was about to put his hand on the doorknob and whispered.
Ivan nodded, ready before Moody reminded him.
"Alohomora ~" Moody waved his wand, and with a crisp sound, the lock unlocked the door automatically.
Moody cautiously pushed the door open, looking nervous as if someone was going to pounce on him at any moment.
But things were clearly not that bad, and it was empty, as Moody said. It seems that the information is correct, and Crouch did go to discuss the competition with Bagman.
Ivan didn't go in immediately, he glanced outside.
The makeshift office was not very large, half the size of a classroom, with a warm red carpet on the floor and a fire in the fireplace that had not yet been extinguished, all of which proved that Crouch had only just left.
Moody's eyes were on the walls around him for the first time, and he was relieved to see that there were no portraits on them, and then walked in with his cane.
Until then, though, Moody hadn't forgotten to cast a silent spell on his wooden legs, which would make his steps quieter.
Ivan followed, and immediately walked to the work table in the center.
There were papers scattered around the table, quill pens and inkwell bottles had been pushed into the corners, and in addition to that, there was a daily Prophet newspaper in a prominent place!
Ivan directly reached out and didn't take it, but adjusted his position and stood in front of it, looking at the specific content of the newspaper clearly.
But when he saw the cover of the newspaper, he was stunned, this was not the latest issue of the Daily Prophet, he was sure he had read it!
Because it was about the Quidditch World Cup during the summer vacation, Sirius's big face was still printed on the photo, and below was the news about the Dark Mark and the Death Eaters gathering to set fire to the camp.
On the other side, Moody was carefully flipping through the papers, his brow furrowed from time to time, and he didn't make a sound for half a while.
The movements of the two also disturbed the small creatures here, and a fox flew out of the gap in the corner, accompanied by several snuffbox-like creatures.
None of this escaped Moody's whirling eyes, and he stepped on the soles of his shoes as soon as he lifted his foot, and then grabbed one of the little ones with his hands that was not dead.
"Hey~ It looks like there's a serious lack of care here, otherwise they wouldn't dare be so rampant." Moody looked around, noticing dust on the few chairs leaning against the corners.
"Don't forget, Crouch has been out of school a lot these months, you told me!" Ivan reminded.
"Yes, but he's been back for days this time! Crouch didn't touch the signed documents on the table......," Moody continued, solemnly. "And he doesn't want people to come in at will! So those house-elves can't help him tidy up! ”
Listening to Moody's words, Ivan fell into deep thought, and he became more and more convinced that it was this Barty Crouch who was a little Crouch disguise.
After all, Crouch Jr. is not the real director of the Department of Communication and Cooperation, so naturally he can't handle these documents, and he may not be at Hogwarts to meet Voldemort from time to time.
"What kind of person do you think would not have time to take care of their office? Even if it's just a finger to release a cleansing spell? Moody asked suddenly.
"Busy people? Like you? Or maybe you're in a particularly bad mood? Ivan looked at the Daily Prophet, distracted by the matter, and replied casually.
"It's all possible!" Moody nodded, and then noticed that Ivan seemed to be thinking about something else, and said dissatisfied. "Alright, don't think about Miss Granger, Hals, we need work now!"
Ivan glared at Moody fiercely, lazy to explain, but pointed to the document in Moody's hand. "You rummaged through his stuff like this, won't Mr. Crouch find out when he comes back?"
"Do you think he still has that in mind?" Moody glanced at Ivan and turned the papers upside down to show him.
It was a document from a few months ago, and it was a bill that Crouch, as the director, was supposed to sign at the end and write his name or disagree, but there was not a word at the end, and even the deadline marked on the bill had passed.
Ivan understood what Moody meant, which meant that Crouch had probably never looked at the document, or had flipped through it and tossed it aside.
"What if he just wants us to think that?" Ivan still retorted that he would not underestimate the counter-reconnaissance capabilities of a former director of the Executive Division.
If the other party is fake, it is even more worthy of vigilance, an undercover agent who infiltrates the castle alone will be more cautious than anyone else!
"You're careful!" Moody smiled, looking at Ivan with a look of appreciation.
"Then let's not forget to remember the location of these things, and if we don't find any important information this time, we have to put them back in place......"
Moody was about to continue, when the expression on his face suddenly changed, and the strange blue eyes turned straight to the doorway, and his mouth opened and closed, as if to say-
He came back early!
Ivan's face changed, and he suddenly became a little nervous, he was 90% sure that Crouch must have a problem, but they had not yet found enough evidence to correct the other party, such as a bottle containing a polyjuice potion, or something else that could prove the other party's identity.
He suddenly regretted that he had been wary of Moody and had not exposed the map of the living spots, which made it impossible for them to accurately grasp Crouch's whereabouts, and they were stuck in the room.
Now was obviously not the time to regret it, Ivan only used the method that he thought of for a moment, he tapped his body with his wand with his backhand, and the whole person disappeared in place as if enveloped in a film.
On the other side, Moody used the Illusion Charm almost simultaneously, and the small room seemed empty again.
Ivan also noticed that the papers on the table were sorted out, as if an invisible hand was fiddling with them, and the dead fox in the ground was also trampled under Moody's feet.
In the next second, the sound of turning the door lock came.
Ivan's mind was tense to the extreme, don't look at them now out of a state of invisibility, but the effect of the illusion spell is not as powerful as the Deathly Hallows invisibility cloak, and some clever wizards can easily see through it.
Not to mention that they were standing at the table right now, and if the other person wanted to come over and sit down, they would definitely bump into each other......
(PS: Don't guess, there is no Shura field, and there is no bloody Qiong Yao plot, and they are not just because of this little misunderstanding to cause contradictions, I remember giving foreshadowing and hints dozens of chapters ago.) Seeing that you are really tired of guessing, the angel really doesn't want to spoil it...... )
