Chapter 010: Determination

"The area where we are now belongs to the city of Bordeaux, where storms are frequent and there are many meteorological observation points along the coast."

"It's based on a lighthouse from many years ago."

Kant stopped what he was doing.

"I was assigned here two years ago, and my last observer was named Nick, and he was a good guy who was optimistic and righteous."

"He was about to retire, so I took over his job, and our handover lasted about a month, but the day before he left, a rare storm struck."

"I've been at sea for so many years, I've never seen the sea so furious, and it feels like it's expecting something."

"The torrential rain lasted for nearly a week, we completely cut off contact with the outside world, there were no telephones, no boats, only the two of us, fortunately, the food left in the lighthouse was enough to feed the two of us for half a year."

"But on the seventh day of the storm, those terrible monsters came up with the tide."

"The first time we saw those things, we were so frightened that we forgot the gun in our hands."

Kant had a look of fear on his face.

"That night, their roars echoed in our ears and they retreated into the sea before dawn."

"And that's where the nightmare began."

"Every day for the next day, those monsters would rush ashore with the storm, and they seemed to want to destroy the light on the lighthouse, stack on top of each other, and climb up like crazy."

"Nick and I can only pick up the guns in our hands."

Kant aimed at Roger and made a gesture of shooting.

"Bang bang bang!"

"One after another, shoot them in the head!"

"But there were too many of them, and Nick was old, and in the dark there was a problem with the direction he was guarding, and he was torn out of his chest by those monsters and ripped off the lighthouse."

Kant sighed.

"When I went out on the second day, I saw only a pool of blood in the rubble below, and it didn't take long for the pool to be washed away by the sea."

"The storm that lasted for nearly half a month finally subsided, the sky cleared, and I waited for three more nights in a row, but those monsters were like disappearing, and they never appeared again."

"On the fifth day, the supply ship approached the island, and he had come to pick up Nick home, but now he couldn't find a single body."

"I'll give a detailed recount of what happened to the ship's liaison."

Kant had a look of exhaustion on his face.

"But everybody thought I was hallucinating, and they told me that Nick must have stumbled and died in the sea when the storm came."

"There are no monsters in this world."

"All this is just my imagination, and they even sent a psychological counselor to stay with me on the island for half a month."

"But nothing happened."

"During that time, even I thought I had a mental problem, and a month after the counselor left, everything was normal, just when I thought my life was back on track......"

"On a stormy night, those monsters reappeared!"

Kant rubbed his rough face.

"Since no one believes it, it doesn't matter, one day I will kill the last monster, and then pull his corpse to tell everyone that Lao Tzu is right!"

Kant roared with a swollen face.

Roger just listened carefully, and did not make any sound, but after listening to Kant's words, instead of solving the doubts in his heart, he became more anxious.

He wanted to open his mouth several times, but when the words came to his mouth, he swallowed them stiffly.

If he hadn't seen that scene on the beach that night, he might have believed Kant's words, but now, he only felt a chill down his spine, and even wanted to turn away from the lighthouse.

But where else could he go?

Last night was lucky, if there was one more monster that attacked him, then Roger's corpse would probably be cold by now.

He had never been so desperate as he was at this moment when he could become strong.

"I've cleaned up the bottom two floors of the lighthouse, the bottom one for you to live in, and the top one for our dining room, so stay here for the next few nights."

Kant said to Roger.

"You can give me a gun, and I can help you guard the lighthouse at night."

Roger suggested.

Kant shook his head.

"There is only one gun left on the island, and there is a limited number of bullets."

He looked at Roger.

"Amazing little one, rest here, survive these few days, when the supply ship docks, I will send you to a nearby town, you have been missing for so long, your parents should have been in a hurry."

"Parents?"

Roger pretended to be in pain, he hugged his head and muttered, "I can't remember, I don't remember anything but my name." ”

"Poor little one."

Kant then briefly treated Roger's wound on his back, and then took him on a tour of the two floors below the lighthouse.

In fact, there is nothing to see, the structure of the interior is simple, and there are few decent pieces of furniture.

This time, though, Roger didn't hear anything strange, and after last night's battle and another night's vigil, he was exhausted.

After a slight hesitation, Roger did not choose to rest in the lighthouse, but made an excuse and returned to his cabin.

He dragged the two fish-man corpses out and dug a shallow pit behind the woods, where they would stink after a long time.

After cleaning the cabin, the tired Roger lay down on the bed and quickly fell asleep.

After 8 hours, he will be alive again.

Meanwhile, on the upper level of the lighthouse, Kant unlocked the key and opened one of the rooms, which was filled with a foul stench of human beings being bound in a rudimentary iron cage.

"It's providential, I didn't want to do it, but they turned out to be a month ahead of schedule."

"Did I miscalculate, there shouldn't have been an attack in the recent past."

Kant held his head.

"Can anyone tell me what I should do?"

"He's just a kid!"

But soon the hesitation in his eyes gradually disappeared, and the expression on his face became hideous.

"Who can prove that he ever came?"

"Nobody, nobody!"

"God wants him to die, as long as he waits a few more days for a ship to dock, he can get out of here."

"But now ......"

"He found out the secrets of the island and will definitely tell the others, and it won't be long before a lot of people come here."

The look in Kant's eyes gradually became firm.

"No way!"

"No one can let our secrets know."

Kant looked at the figure in the cage with a gentle look in his eyes, and he reached out to touch the other man's cheek, but all he got was a violent struggle and a roar in his throat.

All hesitation disappeared completely, and a strong murderous intent appeared in his eyes.

"Kill him, tonight!"
