272 Battle of the Black Bridge
Surrounded by mountains outside the old town of Hope, the legend of the Emerald Mountain God is widely spread here.
There's even a church of the Emerald Mountain gods in this town, which Downey hasn't seen before, but there are signs on it that guide you.
The old pickup slowly drove away from Old Hope Town and along the muddy road.
Downey also got a map from the bartender, which now comes in handy.
Next, Donnie needs to follow a zigzag road to the city of Pokazi, preferably before it gets completely dark.
The city of Pokazi is at the other end of the Saute Salt Lake, surrounded by large expanses of wood.
With the strange sound of the car, Donnie gradually approached the black iron bridge that crossed the salt lake of Sauter.
The iron bridges are divided by number, and Downey has to cross the Black Iron Bridge No. 5.
No matter what material the bridge is made of, it will become pitch black after a long time on the Saute salt lake.
But after a series of inspections, nothing was found, and after several times, it had to be like this.
The fog spread from the surrounding mountains and forests to the road, and the shadow of the No. 5 Black Iron Bridge gradually became clear.
Throughout the process, Donnie kept an eye out for the changes around him.
Fortunately, nothing unusual happened, and Donnie made it all the way to the Black Bridge.
Looking at the Saute Salt Lake through the glass, the whole lake is green, and it looks inexplicably cold.
Donnie shuddered at the thought of the passage that existed beneath the salt lake, and the sea god who had slept in the dream he had weaved.
So Donnie stepped on the accelerator and sped away to the opposite shore.
But sometimes, something happens that is unavoidable.
For example, this old pickup truck broke down on the black iron bridge, and there was a faint black shadow hovering in the lake under the black iron bridge...
As soon as the car broke down, Donnie grabbed his airwing backpack and walked onto the bridge.
"What's going on?" Stepping on the bridge deck, Donnie immediately felt that something was wrong.
There seems to be a layer of slippery slime on the bridge deck, this layer of dark gray that is not good for people no matter what, and the slime that is almost black adheres to the entire bridge deck.
Downey tried to get rid of it, but found it almost impossible to do so, as the slime was extremely sticky and difficult to clean up once it was touched.
And the bridge is also filled with a strong smell of fish, that is, fishy, from which Downey can easily think of the strange race that lives in the deep sea and in the dream of the sea god.
Donnie's mind continued to expand, even thinking of the ancient sea god who had been sealed in his dreams...
As soon as Donnie sketched the uncomfortable figure of the curious god in his memory, he immediately forced himself to break it up and stop remembering it.
The reason why Donnie is so jealous is simple, that is, the sea god in his memories may be detected by the real sea god in his dream.
With Downey's prideful luck, it would not be surprising if he was noticed by the sea god because of this.
In order to save himself some trouble, Donnie naturally did not make trouble for himself.
But the culprit behind this situation is likely to have something to do with those deep-sea weirdness!
Donnie only hopes that these weirdos can ignore him and allow him to pass safely.
Thinking of this, Donnie rose from the ground and headed straight for the other side of the Sauter Salt Lake.
As for this weird slime, it's always good to stay away from them.
In order to avoid danger, Donnie did not fly very high, basically less than half a foot above the ground.
And Donnie also sticks to the side of the Black Iron Bridge to reduce the probability of being discovered.
After repeated troublesome tempering, Donnie has a lot of experience in hiding himself, and using a variety of means together, the whole person seems to have disappeared.
Downey was still twenty meters away from the opposite side of the Black Iron Bridge, and if he burst out with all his might, he would be able to cross this distance in the blink of an eye.
But by this time, the black shadow in the salt lake had already climbed upward, and the transcendents hanging on the outside of the black iron bridge chose to open fire.
A flurry of gunfire knocked down the strange ones from the salt lake, knocking them out of the water from the piers that supported the iron bridge.
However, the fishmen who looked like blue-green strange fish did not give up, and they climbed up the black iron pier in groups, and said words that no one could understand, but when they heard it, they felt dizzy, and the illusions in front of them were frequent.
At this moment, it is naturally the group of hunters who are fighting with the monsters in the water, their strength is good, but if there are no special means, they are afraid that they will be piled to death by the monsters.
Donnie obtains this bizarre information with his Eye of Knowledge, and they are the same deepdivers who have brought deep sea terror to past versions of the Esoteric World.
Personally, Donnie doesn't want to deal with this weirdness.
But it was no longer time for Donnie to deal with them, there were even larger black figures swimming in the salt lake, and when Downey saw them, the latter had already begun to violently crash into the underwater part of the black iron bridge.
Through the exposed scales and half-claws, it is not difficult to see that it is an extremely large and distorted look.
They seem to be a variety of hideous deep-sea races, spliced together from the most powerful and serious parts of their own twisted hideousness, and the visual impact is far from being comparable to the weirdness of vampires who are taken out and beaten every day.
Even if Downey saw this, rather than a normal human seeing them, Downey felt that he was very visually polluted.
So much so that when the huge arms made of the heads of countless deep-sea fish and the feet of octopuses rose from the salt lake, Donnie did not have time to escape to the other side.
But Donnie could see that these weirdos didn't want to occupy the world that belonged to humans, and now was the time.
Instead, the transcendents on the bridge were attacking the weird, and from the mouths of the weirdos who were not so fishy or deep-sea, and could still shout in the federal language, it could be heard that it was the human side that had seized some kind of treasure that belonged to them.
Judging by the weirdos, the treasure could also be someone. Of course, it could also be that the Extraordinary have reclaimed the lost treasure from the Weird.
Exactly what it is, Donnie doesn't know. But most of the things that can make the two sides fight like this are extremely valuable.
Now that Donnie thinks about it, he suddenly feels that the bartender before doesn't seem to be lying, and he really shouldn't have come out.
But in the next second, Donnie saw a group of strange people running from the direction he came, since they appeared from the old town of hope, it means that the town is mostly destroyed...
Thinking of this, Donnie was glad that he set off in time, otherwise he would almost have to face these weirdness.
Donnie's movements were so fast that he had already landed on the ground on the other side before the huge monster in the water hit the Black Iron Bridge again.
At this time, he was not the only one, but the extraordinary people who were hiding on the bridge and fighting with the strange also chose to retreat.
