Chapter 449: Ambush

In the middle of the night, Lucian returned with a bundle of twig rags, and also the package containing the food.

The three humans were sleeping soundly when Jeno made a silent gesture to him at vigil, and the latter's footsteps immediately disappeared.

"I don't need to rest anymore." He handed the backpack to Jeno and gently piled the dead branches on the already barely burning campfire.

This is Jeno's backpack, which contains not only food, but also his communicator, as well as a scarf and two shirts that can be changed in case of a pop.

Jeno spread out the scarf into a thin blanket, draped the shirt over Sarah, and placed the backpack with the food in the corner of the cavern, sleeping beside Ezreal.

As mentioned earlier, Sarah lost her coat and Ezreal lost her food, but Jinx, who is usually the most frightened, doesn't have to worry about it, and he doesn't snore when he sleeps, which is amazing!

After doing all this, Jeno and the demon spirit exchanged goodnight and fell asleep against the rock wall.

When Jeno woke up the next day, the campfire had burned out.

Sarah was glad that she didn't catch a cold last night, and kept throwing winks at Jeno with her scarf, and Jeno asked if she had too much in her eyes.

Ezreal noticed that the food didn't know when it had returned, and thought he hadn't woken up, so he slapped his cheek a lot.

The group quickly followed Lucian to the Twisted Woods.

The black fog of the Isle of Shadows is as enduring as the haze of Zaun, and the sunlight does not shine into the wasteland.

It's also hard to tell the difference between night and day, but if you look up, you can probably see the outline of the sun, probably a halo, like wearing many layers of sunglasses to look directly at the sun.

They walked through the rugged basalt of the shoreline, and the smooth, greasy surface made it unstable to take care of the half-carcasses dragging over the rocks like snails, leaving behind the greasy path.

"Jeno, you said that if we smear some of the flesh and blood of the undead on our bodies, will the undead still notice us?" The dirt on his shoes reminded Ezreal of something bad.

"Eighty percent is useless, I think the undead here rely more on the soul to identify humans, or simply the black fog is directing them, and just covering up the smell can't fool them." Jeno thought about it seriously, this kind of routine operation against zombies would not work on the undead.

The undead on the island are also densely populated, not as many as on the beach, but they are still the same "hospitable".

There is no pattern to the undead's attack, but it is all a matter of Lucian's shot, and only when he encounters a tide of small corpses does Jeno have a chance to help.

However, he is not without help, his role is to act as a target, and the powerful soul is like opening the aura of taunting in the whole map, helping his teammates absorb all the hatred, all Lucian has to do is to shoot these undead before they can approach Jeno's side.

It was only then that he noticed the odd mix of his team, only one of the four ADCs had output, and Lucian was responsible for 90% of the team's firepower output.

Just after a few people had become accustomed to such encounters, Jeno and the others were suddenly ambushed by the undead!

As they entered a soft dirt field, several undead spirits burst out of the ground around them!

Before that, the undead they encountered had all run or fly from afar, which was really surprising!

Jeno couldn't help but wonder, are the undead learning wise?

The undead's actions confirmed Jeno's suspicion - they couldn't help but get smarter, and even their strength increased a lot!

The six undead had blue-gray skin, black veins spreading under their smooth, hairless skin.

They take on the form of rickety humans, half human-tall, without any wounds on their bodies, but their facial features are gone, and only a bloody mouth that occupies half of their face, full of bloody fangs, looks like a deformed giant fetus no matter how they look.

This made Jeno wonder, although the faces of many undead were so rotten that they couldn't be seen, but through the decoration on their bodies and the degree of decay of their bodies, they could still clearly find out the difference, and the six highly similar undead in front of him made him unable to find the difference at all, not even gender characteristics!

Only embryos can be so homogeneous, right? It's a miniature version of the licker in Resident Evil, with the tongue removed and the skull exactly the same.

There are many signs that make people think about the taboo product of some kind of biochemical experiment.

While thinking about it, Jeno had already put on a fighting stance, and he tried to stay away from Ezreal as much as possible.

Six undead charged at the same time, running on all fours, as fast as hounds, black nails longer than their fingers scraping against the ground. In the blink of an eye, the two closest to Jeno had already rushed in front of him in the next moment!

Seeing how fast they were, Jeno immediately changed his approach to the enemy.

The iron wall is horizontal in front of his chest, and the ghost claws are stored at his side.

These ghosts should not be able to distinguish the material of his arms, and when they collide with the iron arms and the form of the body stagnates, it only takes a moment for Jeno to single-handedly grab the fallen souls in their bodies.

But he didn't expect that these two undead would not "spoil" him at all, and he didn't care about Sarah's delicious mortals, so he swept straight past him and rushed towards Lucian alone!

In the moment he passed by, he reacted very quickly and slammed back with his right hand, grabbing one of the undead.

But what is incomprehensible is that the ghost claws actually pass through the undead's body without hindrance, like grasping air, without any real feeling.

There are no "fallen souls" in the bodies of these undead!

What the hell is this!

Seeing the six undead rush towards Lucian, Jeno immediately switched to a warping force field to remedy it, and strangled the two undead he had missed.

A light bounced off the side, leaving a severed limb and three undead spirits rushing towards Lucian!

The two undead outflanked Lucian from the left and right, and he turned his head frequently, his two guns, and the left and right bows, and the pure white electric light tore through the black mist.

But the two undead who were wrapped around him at the beginning seemed to have a higher IQ, and they actually twisted left and right to dodge the fast and ruthless bullets, and finally used their legs to take off and fly towards the target at the same time!

Lucian dodged and jumped back, his back to the earth, and merged his two spears in the air, the muzzles of the guns pointed towards the intersection of the two undead in the air, the lines of the carved stones tightly intertwined, and the carved lines lit up with a shining white light.

Before he could lay down, a dazzling light erupted from the spear, engulfing the two undead in a rage.

The white light undoubtedly killed the two undead, but the only remaining undead also took the opportunity to pounce on Lucian's face!
