Chapter 1132: Sitting and Talking (Part II)
You must know that these annotated scriptures that Murong Feng is reciting now are all memorized by rote from the "Tao Te Ching" she found in Lang Huan's blessed land, and at that time, she felt that the "Tao Te Ching" and the "Lenga Sutra" with the "Jiuyang Divine Skill" must be extraordinary together, so she carefully identified them word by word, but unfortunately in the end, she only memorized a large number of mysterious and mysterious scriptures, and she didn't find any peerless martial arts.
I didn't expect that when I was teaching the scriptures to others now, I had a little insight in my heart. Although this trace of perception was still very vague, it allowed her to vaguely see the breakthrough direction of the Sword Venerable's Dao.
For a while, Murong Feng was ecstatic in his heart, but he still had a light smile on his face.
"That's not right, isn't it?" Suddenly, a puzzle sounded!
Murong Feng looked up and saw that it was an ignorant little Taoist priest, so he smiled and asked, "Dare to ask Daoyou, where is there a mistake in what you said next?" ”
"Junbao must not be rude!" Du Guanting immediately turned around and shouted, so frightened that the little Taoist priest shrank his head and hid behind the crowd.
"Senior Yuyangzi, this little Taoist friend may have different opinions, why don't you let him say it for all Taoist friends to refer to together?" Murong Feng smiled.
Du Guanting turned around and said politely: "This kid is used to being reckless and rude on weekdays, how can he know any big truths, let alone annotate the scriptures of the sages." Please also ask Xiaoyou to continue to explain the following scriptures, all the seniors are still waiting. ”
Murong Feng shook his head and chuckled: "The sage left a book to pass on the wisdom of life that he summarized to future generations, so anyone has the right to put forward their own unique opinions. ”
Venerable Heming nodded and said, "Xiaoyou really has every proverb, and he has won the great wisdom of the sages." ”
As soon as a group of little Taoist priests heard that the big guy had spoken, what were they waiting for, they immediately picked up the pen and wrote down this sentence as a wise saying.
Murong Feng smiled dumbly for a moment.
Du Guanting also shook his head and smiled bitterly, turned to the little Taoist priest and hummed: "Since you want to say it, just say it, but if you talk about any crooked reasoning and heresy like you usually do, the old Taoist will definitely open your kid's butt to flowers." ”
Everyone immediately burst into laughter, and the little Taoist priest also made a big red face, but he mustered up the courage to stand up and stammered: "I also heard from others, so I shouted out just now." ”
"Let's talk about it, don't delay the time of all the Taoist friends." Du Guanting snorted.
The little Taoist priest scratched his head and hurriedly explained: "I once heard the old master in the private school in the town, saying that in ancient times, our human sages first had 'benevolence' and understood tolerance, and this tolerance is also one of the virtues of becoming a gentleman, and at the same time, this 'benevolence' is also the basis of 'etiquette'. It is not, as Miss Zhao said, that it is because people have lost their 'morality, benevolence, and righteousness' that they have the last 'rites'. ”
A group of little Taoist priests listened a little around, and felt that these two views seemed to be incompatible, and they couldn't get along at all, and they didn't know who to listen to.
And a group of old Taoist priests changed color one by one, because these old Taoists immediately realized a very fatal problem.
That is, the views of their Taoist ancestors seem to have diverged from those of Confucian sages, and this kind of thing can be big or small, depending on how future generations understand it. But this involves a question of the right to speak!
You must know that Confucianism and Momen have been fighting with each other for thousands of years in order to compete for the right to speak on their own ideas.
Now, are they going to plunge headlong into this maelstrom for this right to speak? But wouldn't this go against the concept of indisputable action that Daomen has always advocated?
For a while, all the old and junior Taoists all looked at Murong Feng to see how she could solve the problem.
Murong Feng actually didn't expect that the Confucians in this world had different views on benevolence, morality, propriety and righteousness, and they also had differences with the original meaning of the Tao Te Ching.
Murong Feng pondered for a moment, then smiled calmly: "This actually depends on how you understand the definition of the word 'li', if you put the five permanent ways of 'benevolence, righteousness, propriety, wisdom and faith' together, then benevolence is indeed one of the foundations of propriety, because people without benevolence, righteousness, wisdom and faith definitely don't know what propriety is, so it is not wrong to say that benevolence is the basis of propriety." But you ignore that this benevolence, righteousness, propriety, wisdom, and faith are actually the moral foundation of a person, and that a person who lacks one of them must also be a person with a lack of morality, but this does not mean that this person is a person without virtue.
Because benevolence, righteousness, propriety, wisdom, and faith, all of them are virtuous people, such people may not be perfect or even villains, let alone become gentlemen, but you can't deny that there are not often perfect gentlemen in the world, but virtuous villains are everywhere. For example, the foolish people in the countryside who don't know what the truth of the Great Dao is, this is an unwise person. For example, most of the stall vendors on the street who play all kinds of clever tricks for a little profit are unrighteous people. Another example is the prisoner of sin and the gambler, who are unkind and untrustworthy.
However, no matter how ignorant the foolish people in the countryside are, they also know that they cannot fish with all their might, and they cannot pull out the seedlings to help them grow, which is the manifestation of virtue.
However, the seemingly unrighteous street vendors value credit the most, because the untrustworthy are not enough to make a living, which is actually virtue and trustworthiness, and it is also the basis of doing business.
Or the prisoner and the gambler, both may be unkind and untrustworthy, but they pay the most attention to righteousness first, and those who dare to stick a knife in the ribs for their friends abound, let's not care about the rights and wrongs of these people, but this kind of behavior is actually a kind of righteousness.
These people may have all kinds of shortcomings, but it cannot be denied that each kind of person has his own kind of character. And this kind of exclusive character is also the bottom line of these people's respective codes of conduct, and it also restricts these people from doing some things that break the bottom line of morality.
But moral restraint alone is not omnipotent, because there are always some morally corrupt people who cause calamity to the world. So at this time, the last thing to appear must be the ceremony!
So what is a gift? Etiquette is actually the law of etiquette, the rules, and the laws that are common in the world. It makes people know how to deal with others, how to distinguish between superior and inferior. At the same time, etiquette also makes people have a sense of shame and awe, and those who have no shame will be spurned by the world, and those who have no fear will be severely punished by the law.
Therefore, people will only be rude after losing their morality, and on the contrary, it is precisely because of the constraints of etiquette that people will not and dare not lose their virtue! Therefore, the two are complementary and indispensable, otherwise what is the difference between man and beast? ”
A group of big and small Taoist priests were all stunned after listening to Murong Feng's lofty talk, feeling that their three views had been seriously impacted, and for a while, they felt that there was a thunderstorm in their brains.
The sword idiot who was sitting on the side eavesdropping was also dumbfounded, scratching his head and whispering to Murong Feng: "Why do you listen to your crooked reasoning, it seems that something is wrong!" ”
Murong Feng rolled his eyes and said, "Nonsense, something is wrong." Because this is the etiquette doctrine advocated by the Legalists, I just wrapped it up and gave it to these old people. ”
"You cow!" The sword idiot gave a thumbs up and exclaimed: "If you can mix the private goods of the Legalists into the academic ideas of Confucianism and Taoism, you are the only one in the world who dares to do anything." ”
Murong Feng said helplessly: "I can't help it, this Tian Yuan Continent itself is a world with a deformed social structure. If I want to make a change, I must start from the very basics, and a harmonious society under the rule of law is undoubtedly the best choice. ”
The sword idiot really doesn't know what to say, and then look at the gang of bull-nosed veterans in front of him, if they are really transformed into a group of Legalist pioneers by this girl, it will definitely beat any school. Because there is already a precedent for this in Chinese civilization, even after being stolen by Confucianism, it still has to implement the policy of Confucianism to govern the world. Otherwise, we will govern the world only by benevolence, righteousness and morality? The world must not be completely chaotic then.
After being shocked, a group of veterans all fell into confusion and contemplation, and this kind of impact from the three views is not something that anyone can have an epiphany right away.
Until the sun rose, Daoyin Lao Dao was the first to open his eyes, and then got up and bowed deeply to Murong Feng: "Listening to your words is better than reading for ten years, and Your Excellency can be a Dao Sect master." ”
As soon as these words came out, there was an uproar at the scene.
Venerable Heming first glanced at Dao Yin in surprise, then after thinking about it, he also got up and bowed deeply to Murong Feng and said, "Your Excellency can be a Dao Sect Master." ”
At this moment, all the Taoist priests behind him couldn't calm down.
At this time, Venerable Zhengyang also stood up slowly, but this sloppy old Taoist rubbed his armpits, shook his head and sighed: "The master is a teacher, but it's a pity that it is different from the old Tao." ”
Dao Yin frowned, and saw Venerable Zhengyang shaking his head and sighing and drifting away.
The sword idiot snorted and said, "It seems that there are still smart people in this world." ”
Murong Feng said indifferently: "I didn't expect to be able to fool all these bulls, and it was beyond my expectations to be able to keep the two Venerables." ”
At this time, the old servant came to report that the banquet had been prepared.
Although he only said one chapter, it was enough for a group of old Taoists and small Taoists to digest it for ten days and half a month, so Murong Feng proposed to eat first, and then talk about the later scriptures after eating, and all the Daoists naturally did not disagree.
After eating a sumptuous luncheon, everyone followed Murong Feng back to the back garden to prepare to continue the altar and preach. But I didn't expect another group of unexpected visitors to come outside the door.
"Miss Zhao, Yang Xiaoyou, don't come unharmed." The Water Mirror Ancestor smiled and greeted him, followed by two old men dressed as Confucian scholars and a few young people, Na Yue Xi and Lin Yue were also among them, but they all hid at the back of the crowd with their heads down.
"It turned out to be Mr. Shuijing." Murong Feng stepped forward and asked politely, "Master, is you here to find Lord Blood Drinking True Monarch?" It's a misfortune that the adults are not at the house. ”
"No, the old man came to visit you this time." Shuijing Ancestor smiled and said, but when these Confucian scholars saw that there was also a large group of Taoist priests in the mansion, they were very surprised.
"Hehe, it's better to come early than to be lucky." Murong Feng smiled dryly and introduced each other: "Master, these two are the predecessors of the Daoyin Venerable and the Heming Venerable, and these are the Nanyangzi seniors, the Changzhenzi seniors, the Guangningzi seniors, the Danqingzi seniors, and the Yuyangzi seniors. ”
Every time Murong Feng reported a big name, the faces of a group of Confucian scholars changed, and when the introduction of these people was finished, it was called a wonderful face.
"Be courteous in the water mirror."
"It's polite to be in the lower wind."
"Be courteous in Lower Twilight."
"I've seen a few Dao Masters." The two old Confucian students who came with the Ancestor of the Water Mirror stepped forward to salute together. Then there are peers, then juniors, and it is a waste of half a day to wait for a busy time to survive.
But after the two sides exchanged ideas, they all stared at Murong Feng in surprise.
"I didn't expect Miss Zhao to be not only proficient in poetry and songs, but also dabbled in Taoist scriptures." Da Ru Lin Feng was extremely surprised.
Murong Feng smiled and said: "I just happened to read a few unique scriptures that have not been circulated in the world, so I was invited by the predecessors of the Dao Yin Venerable to open an altar to give a lecture here, if a few masters are interested, why don't you refer to them together?" ”
"That's not good, is it?" Water Mirror Ancestor smiled dryly.
"It doesn't matter." Venerable Daoyin and Xu smiled and said, "The writings of the sages are originally left for future generations to evaluate, and there is no distinction between Confucianism and Taoism. ”
"The old man admires the belly of the Taoist." The Water Mirror Ancestor sighed in admiration, and led a group of Confucian scholars to sit down in another clearing on the grassland.
From the different sitting postures of the two sides, it can be seen that the distinction is clear, all the Taoist priests are sitting cross-legged and pay attention to the five hearts and three flowers to gather at the top, while the Confucian scholars are all sitting on the knees and paying attention to the waist board and a straight face, even in the face of a yellow-haired girl to open the altar to preach the scriptures, it is also meticulous, without any rudeness.
Murong Feng looked at the left and right sides, coughed lightly, and said, "I have already talked about chapter 38 of the Book of Virtues in the morning, and I should start talking about chapter 39 now." However, in order to take care of the masters, the younger generation decided to repeat chapter 38 again. ”
Venerable Dao Yin bowed his head slightly in agreement, and Murong Feng reexplained Chapter 38 and attached a note and her previous remarks about her own private goods, and said that this was only her personal opinion, and if the person present had a different opinion, he could put it forward.
As a result, as soon as Murong Feng said this, a group of big and small Taoist priests all turned their heads to stare at a group of Confucian scholars.
And the group of Confucian scholars who came with the Water Mirror Ancestor were still in shock......
There's no way, who let the Legalist school never appear on the Tian Yuan Continent. After all, the core idea of the Legalist school is that there is no privilege, to put it bluntly, it is to strictly regulate and divide each level of people, the capable are up, the incompetent are down, you enjoy the corresponding power at that level, but the existence of a privileged class above the law is absolutely not allowed. Because privilege means that the law cannot be held accountable, the concept of Legalism has always been loved and hated by those in power. Because whoever is in power wants to divide people into three, six, nine, and so on, but at the same time wants to have all the privileges in one. The most typical example is the imperial power of various dynasties.
But in the Tian Yuan Continent, where monks are flying all over the world, you advocate dividing people into three, six, nine, and so on, maybe it really caters to the preferences of many high-ranking people, but you want to deprive a group of monks of all kinds of privileges, so that the harsh laws can also be imposed on those monks? It's not much fun to want to die!
Therefore, there is no soil for the birth of the Legalist school on the Tianyuan Continent, and naturally there is no way to talk about the so-called Legalist concept.
Now, as soon as Murong Feng opened his mouth, he mixed the private goods of the Legalist family into the rituals that Confucianism had always admired, and also directly raised the rituals to the level of the Great Dao of Heaven and Earth. This is like a sugar-coated poison for a group of Confucian scholars who talk about etiquette every day!
Looking at the three great Confucian sitting in front of them, their beards were already flying with excitement, you can imagine how excited and boiling this old man was at the moment.
