1. Introduction:

Zhongnan Mountain, also known as Taiyi Mountain, Dilung Mountain, Zhongnan Mountain, Zhounan Mountain, referred to as Nanshan, is the birthplace of "Tao Culture", "Buddha Culture", "Filial Piety Culture", "Longevity Culture", "Zhong Kui Culture" and "God of Wealth Culture", located in the middle of the Qinling Mountains, is an important geographical indication in China.

Zhongnan Mountain is located in the territory of Shaanxi Province, it starts from Yangjiabao in the easternmost part of Lantian County, which is rich in beautiful jade, and reaches the south Liangliang Ridge of Taibai Mountain, the main peak of Qinling Mountains in the westernmost boundary of Zhouzhi County, between 107°37'-109°49'E longitude and 33°41'-34°22'N, with a length of about 230 kilometers from east to west, 55 kilometers at the widest point, and 15 kilometers at the narrowest point, with a total area of about 4851 square kilometers. Spanning Lantian County, Chang'an District, Hubei District, Zhouzhi County and other counties, stretching for more than 200 miles, standing majestically in the south of the ancient city of Chang'an (Xi'an), becoming the tall and solid support of Chang'an City, the majestic and magnificent barrier. It is known as "the fairy capital", "the crown of the cave" and "the first blessed land in the world".

Zhongnan Mountain is located in the main part of the collision and consolidation of continental plates in the north and south of China, and is the natural geological, geographical, ecological, climatic, environmental and even humanistic dividing line of the north and south of China, known as "China's natural zoo" and "Asia's natural botanical garden", and is characterized by the geological relics of the Qinling Orogenic Belt, the Quaternary geological relics, the geomorphological relics and the ancient human relics.

Zhongnan Mountain is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction, a global geopark, a national forest park, and a national nature reserve. On August 23, 2009, UNESCO officially selected Zhongnan Mountain in the Qinling Mountains as a Global Geopark.

2. Location realm

Zhongnan Mountain is located in the middle of the Qinling Mountains, between 107°37'-109°49'E longitude and 33°41'-34°22'N latitude, 25 kilometers away from Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province, with a total area of 4851 square kilometers.

3. Topography

Zhongnan Mountain is a section of the Qinling Mountains, starting from Baojimei County, Shaanxi Province in the west, and reaching Lantian County, Xi'an, Shaanxi Province in the east. The main peak is located in Chang'an District, with an altitude of 2,604 meters.

The terrain of Zhongnan Mountain is dangerous, the road is rugged, there are five large valleys, more than 100 small valleys, and hundreds of miles in a row. "Zuo Biography" called Zhongnan Mountain "the danger of Kyushu", and "Historical Records" recorded that Qinling was "the obstacle of the world". The "Chronicles of Chang'an County" written by the Song people contains: "The south of the end is across the south of the pass, starting from Qinlong in the west, reaching Lantian in the east, 800 miles apart.
