Chapter Ninety-Eight: Sacrifice
In the dark and deep underground waterways, more than 1,000 civilians in ragged clothes are running desperately in this damp and dark environment.
Due to the difference in age and strength, the team quickly stretched into a long line.
At the front of the line, Omars held the golden Archon's Scepter, and large drops of sweat rolled down his bare forehead.
Omars was also a legendary-level powerhouse, and a rapid march of such strength would not have tired him like this at all.
The reason why he was sweating so much was because of the crazy warnings that his primordial form kept sending out in his mind.
The primordial prototype of Ormars is a very special kind even among the unknown types, this primordial prototype itself has no combat power, and it is still ineffective.
But it was this strange primordial form that made him the target of the three demon gods for a while.
His primordial form allows him to observe through the various energies of this world some scenes that are invisible to ordinary people, and these scenes will be transformed into bizarre fragments when he interprets them.
Such footage has been shown to be an allegorical of real events that are about to happen or are happening, and that when these fables appear, they represent something that no one else knows is about to happen.
In other words, Omars's primordial form was a limited insight and prophetic power, only to be shown to be able to predict only what was to happen in a short period of time in the future.
And not every future can be predicted by him.
After learning of this limitation, the Three Demon Gods slowly gave up their attention to him, but Omars's abilities were still valued by the Demon Fortress Council.
They sent him to the seaport of Kurast in the rainforest to serve as Archon in this special war fortress, where they hoped to make the most of his original form.
It was with this ability that Omars was able to escape from the rapidly falling seaport with some of its inhabitants on the eve of the imminent breach of the seaport of Kurast.
And just now, his original ineffective ability began to warn him frantically, and the same fables kept flashing in his mind, in which a man with a golden sun in his hand was leading a frantic run through a narrow passage.
He was followed by a large group of ragged refugees.
The refugees were haggard and had a more or less frightened look on their faces, and they saw the man in the lead as hope, and ran forward as if they were deadly after him.
Not far behind these people, two terrifying demons with hideous faces were frantically devouring the road they had just run, both green and blue, chasing after these fleeers at great speed.
In the fable, the two demons are chasing much faster than the fleeing people, and if they continue to run like this, they will not be long before they are caught up and swallowed by them.
As the demon slowly approached, a dim purple-black star slowly lit up above the heads of all the refugees, including the man holding the sun in the front, and Omas, who had read countless fables, immediately turned pale when he saw these stars.
He knew those things, and the stars meant very clearly in the fable, which was "the omen of death."
The next fragment of the fable is divided into two simultaneous sections, one of which is the man holding the sun who suddenly accelerates, throws the golden sun he is holding on the side of the road, and rushes alone into the road ahead.
The death omen above his head quickly disappeared and became invisible, but the light on his entire body also dimmed as the sun discarded it.
Behind him, without the guidance of the sun, the fleeing people stopped, their faces glowing with endless despair and resentment, and the death omen above their heads shimmered with a blinding purple light.
Eventually, the demon caught up and swallowed the fleeing people into their mouths.
They glanced down the passage with a look of satisfaction on their faces, and when they saw that the man was already far away, they stopped pursuing and began to turn back.
The man survived.
Another parable shows the opposite ending, with the man abruptly stopping, thrusting the sun in his arms into the hands of the refugees behind him, and then returning alone to face the demons, the death omen above his head shining brightly.
But the other refugees continued to run forward under his delayed deportation, guided by the sun in his arms, and finally found a way out and escaped from life.
But the man died a tragic death under the siege of the two demons.
The demons had taken so much time to fight the men that by the time they reacted, the refugees had already run away.
So the demons didn't continue the pursuit, but just dragged the stump of the bloody man back and turned back.
The man died.
The two parables kept flashing back and forth in Omas's mind, and it was the first time that Omars had seen such a clear foreshadowing since he had received the primordial form.
He opened his eyes and glanced back at the survivors behind him, only to see that the expressions on their faces were almost identical to those of the refugees in the fable.
Then, Omars glanced back at the Archon's Scepter in his hand, a gift that the entire inhabitants of Kurast had created and given him when he became Archon of the Harbor of Kurast.
This thing is only blue according to the equipment level, and the attributes are not a big deal.
However, he has always kept it as his most precious treasure, and he even replaced his original primary weapon with the Staff of the Archon.
"Hey... As fate would have it, I still couldn't run away when I was supposed to come! ”
Omars was silent for a moment, then let out a long sigh.
Immediately after, he stopped abruptly and turned around with a serious face.
"What's wrong, Lord Omas? Why stop here? Hera Tieli asked, looking at Omars with some confusion.
However, Omars did not answer him, but only glanced at the golden Archon's staff in his hand with a reluctant face.
"Old man, the time has come to part!
Help me escape with these innocent poor people! ”
As he spoke, he raised his right hand and poured a soft golden light into the head of the staff.
Then Omas's face suddenly became serious, and he jerked the staff into Hera Tieli's arms, and ordered in a tone that could not be refused: "Hera, take them first, this staff will guide you next!"
Don't ask questions, hurry up! ”
"What?! This... But ......" Hera Tieli was stunned for a moment, and then instantly reacted to what Omars was going to do, and his eyes widened as he looked at this kind elder who had spent dozens of spring and autumn with them, and the expression on his face was full of disbelief.
"No, but! Let's go! Eco! Reisander! Let's go! Let's go!! The expression on Omas's face was three points anxious and seven points determined, and he pushed Hera Iron Force into the passage ahead.
"Old youkai! You ......" Eco wanted to say something with a complicated expression, but in the end it turned into a deep sigh.
"Get out of here!" An incomprehensible smile appeared on Omars's lips, and then quickly retracted as he heard the clatter of the sheep-headed demons' hooves on the bluestone slabs in the passage behind him.
"Hey! Walk! Eco gritted his teeth fiercely, grabbed Hera Tieli who was about to say something, and I don't know where this thin old man suddenly got such great strength, and actually dragged Hera Tieli, who was born as a blacksmith, staggered.
"But......" Hera Tieli was about to say something, but in the end he was glared back by Eco with a fierce look.
"Let's go!"
"Mr. Reisander, please give these to Xue, and let him take them to Mr. Decakane after he gets the last statue, and he will know what to do."
With a very calm face, Omars handed a white cloth package to Reisander, and then hugged Fred with tears in his eyes, and then turned around and walked towards the back of the passage without hesitation.
"Hey!" Reshander sighed as he looked at the cloth bag in his hand, then tied it tightly to his body, and continued to run through the passage ahead with the Kurast survivors behind him.
Soon only Omars was left alone in the dimly lit passage.
Seeing that everyone had left smoothly, a peaceful smile appeared on his face.
Immediately after, his face became serious again, and his right hand reached into the inventory and pulled out a dark gold staff, and the whole person suddenly exuded a powerful aura of crazy galloping.
"Come on! Demon cubs! I'm going to show you what it means to be 'an old dog has a few teeth!'" ”
