Chapter 756. There is no time to wait
"You mean that we may have fallen into someone else's trap?" Cremont asked, slightly surprised.
They hadn't thought of this layer until Devitt made an inference. Now that I think about it, this possibility is incredibly real.
In this way, the purpose of the attack by this group of people behind the scenes should not be the dragons themselves.
"Then once we get out of here, won't we be the target of public criticism?" Abel said.
"This is just a possibility that I have speculated, and the exact circumstances are not yet known." Devitt shook his head and said.
"It's a dilemma right now." Cremont sighed and said.
"Before our entire army comes out, how about sending someone out to find out what's going on?" Abel suggested.
Devit had already thought of this method, and as Able spoke, he replied, "The news that our group is going to the volcano has spread throughout the island. It is impossible for either an elven soldier or a Terran soldier to be sent out to find out the news. β
"So," Cremont suddenly thought of a candidate, and said, "what about Gilbert?" He's a goblin, and it's a coincidence that he joined us halfway. It is also normal for goblins to appear near the volcano. How about having him go out on our behalf to inquire about the rumors? β
"That's right." DeWitt's eyes widened and he nodded in affirmation.
"But what if he doesn't help, or lies to us?" Able worried.
Clemmont shook his head and said, "From what I've observed over the past few days, I don't think Gilbert would do such a thing. β
"Now that we've decided, let's go and ask him what he thinks." DeWitt suggested.
"Hmm." Clemmont nodded in unison with Able.
The three of them caught up with Gilbert, who was running at the front, and repeated their guesses in front of him.
Gilbert was also a little frightened by this possibility, and asked, "And what are your plans?" β
"For the sake of safety, our reconnaissance team will not appear in front of the residents near the volcano for the time being." Cremont explained, "The idea of the three of us is that we want you to help us find out the news and bring it back. β
"Hmm." Gilbert glanced at the group of soldiers who followed closely behind and said, "That's all there is to it now." β
"If you can promise us, we can grant you any request." Devitt added.
"Huh?" Gilbert raised an eyebrow, laughed, and said, "Okay, I promise you. But I'll wait until you get to the volcano. β
"Thank you." The three said.
Gilbert shook his head, turned his gaze ahead, and concentrated on speeding down the road.
"I'll take you out tonight." Gilbert left a message.
"Everyone, keep up!" Able looked at Gilbert's unpretentious back and turned to the soldiers behind him and shouted.
"Why can't Gilbert get tired after running for so long?" Jeb, who was standing in the front row, wailed.
It was obviously a cold winter weather, but sweat droplets the size of beans appeared on everyone's foreheads.
"Don't say it, I can't even see him." Levine was dressed in a big rough fit and said, "Where is he going?" β
"I don't know." Jeb wiped the sweat from his eyelashes and said, "I feel like we can't keep up." β
"What are you two talking about? Hurry up! The leader of the second squad commanded at them.
"Yes!" The two of them could only keep their mouths shut and continue to run with the queue.
Six hours had passed since the early morning departure. Able glanced back at his soldiers, and found that most of them had turned extremely bad, and the elven soldiers who were flying in the air with spells had also landed on the ground due to the consumption of spiritual power, and were running with the Calradian soldiers, but it was obvious that they were not used to this way of traveling. Each elven soldier looked like he had come out of his body.
Abel worriedly said to Cremont, "You have to stop, the soldiers can't hold it anymore." β
Reminded by his words, and also noticing the poor state of affairs of the soldiers, CrΓ©mont frowned, and said, "But Gilbert has already thrown us off a great extent, and when the time comes, what if he can't find us and can't join us?" β
"Let the soldiers slow down for a moment and walk forward. If you can't wait long, let them hydrate first. Abel suggested.
Both DeWitt and Cremont agreed with his proposal.
Able immediately issued an order to the whole army: "All soldiers, march on foot!" β
"Great!" Jeb cheered first.
He almost thought he was going to faint on the ground.
"Everyone remember to stay hydrated, and the walking time is only 20 minutes. In the afternoon, we were still running. Cremont explained to the crowd.
"Yes!" The soldiers replied neatly.
Able walked over to the line of elven soldiers and asked about their health.
"How are you doing?" Able asked.
"It feels like half a life has been lost." An officer who was more familiar with Abel gasped and replied.
"Running is so tiring." An elven soldier replied.
Able took a cursory check of each soldier's physical condition, and when he saw that everyone was fine, he told them, "Hurry up and rest for these twenty minutes." In the afternoon, you can use spiritual power, and you can use physical strength. We still have about four hours to go. β
"Yes, Boss!" The elven soldiers nodded.
"Austinger, drink water. The water in the duffel bag is for now. Levin said to Austinger, who had come to the front row.
"Well, I'll drink it later. I'll start by asking Captain DeWitt something. Austinger replied back.
"What is he looking for Captain Devitter for?" Jeb looked at Austinger and approached DeWitt and asked Levine beside him.
"I guess I asked him about his 'son'." Levin shook his head and replied, "Austinger is so worried that he won't see his 'son' for a moment. Don't talk about that, help me beat my shoulder. β
Jeb heard Levin's request, obediently put Levin's duffel bag on his back and thumped his shoulders for the other party.
While enjoying himself, Levine said to Jeb, "For your sake, I'll be reimbursed for tonight's dinner." β
"Really?" Jeb said in surprise, adding a bit more force to his hand.
"Of course." Levine nodded immediately.
