Chapter 1: The Beavers
Outside the gate of Reipt High School, a banner reading "Victory! Beaver Team!" was hung on the school bus, and today was the weekend, and it would have been empty on a normal day, but today was different. Boisterous students crowded outside the gate, and teachers did their best to control this group of undisciplined teenagers!
"Hey, hey, can't you open the door!" said the impatient student through the bus door, banging on the door and shouting at the chubby driver.
The driver gestured helplessly and shouted at the same time: "Look at the notice in front! This is a special car for players!"
Reluctantly, the students moved their bodies, saw the sign at the front of the bus, and shifted positions to harass another school bus. Of course, these self-righteous boys and girls directly ignored the sign in front of the car that said 'cheerleading special car'.
The patience of the students is disappearing, and so is the patience of the teachers...... Everyone's patience was worn out by this chaotic scene, but there was no way, they were not the protagonists of today, they were green leaves who were asked to appear. The 'Beaver Team' from [Reipt High School] vs. the 'Goats' from [Cosway High School]. In order to boost morale and win this victory, the school used 'watching the game will earn a credit for social practice' as an 'encouragement' to ensure that these green leaves can be present to set off the real red flowers.
In contrast to the impatience that pervades outside the school, on the side of the playground in Reipter, the agitated rugby coach gathers his players for one last time for a pre-game scheduling meeting.
"Victory! Reipter, Beaver!"
After a group of energetic seventeen- and eighteen-year-olds shouted slogans in unison, the coach clapped his hands: "Now, go change into your gear! Get out of Reipter! Let the whole school see your 'shirts'! Go to Fenway Park! And win!"
"Yes, Coach!"
The crowd dispersed and headed to the locker room.
These are the main characters.
"Connor!" a stout young man took off his training uniform, he was not happy, he was very angry! He walked up to another tall young man and asked, "Why are you doing this to me!
The boy named Connor ripped off his shirt and raised his hand to push the boy who questioned him away, he was a quarterback and a captain, how could he be frightened by his 'men': "I just did it, what can you do?"
Now that physical contact has occurred, the next development can be imagined, with four or five boys standing between the two and pulling away the two people who had already begun to swing and kick.
"Kyle! Forget it! He's a quarterback! We're going to play soon! It's not worth it!" the teammates reassured the boy who was the first to question.
But this persuasion didn't work in the slightest! Kyle became even more agitated!
"Why isn't it worth it!He knows I need to do well to get the scholarship! This is my last year of high school, it's my last chance!I have to play well in front of the judging committee!Right wing outfield!Connor! You're targeting me!"
The right wing outfield is the least important position in the whole rugby game, and no one will pay attention to it! Only those who enter the team by connection, or let the newcomers play to feel the atmosphere of the game, will be sent to that position! Therefore, Kyle, who was assigned to the right wing outfield by captain Connor, can already say goodbye to his scholarship.
"Humph!" Connor pulled away from Kyle by a few of his teammates, he already sensed that the atmosphere was not in his favor, and the team was clearly leaning towards Kyle.
"Scholarship?Kyle, do you really need a scholarship?Vincent!Sue this guy, who needs a scholarship?!" Connor was pulling a helping hand for himself, and Vincent was the one he had replaced Kyle. And everyone knows that Vincent's family background is not good, and if Vincent can't get a scholarship, then he can say goodbye to the university!
Kyle looked at Vincent, who hadn't spoken, and then at Connor, who looked defiant, and the muscles in his shoulders arched with exertion. But he didn't continue to speak, his chest heaved and heaved, he took a few deep breaths, pushed away his teammate who was holding him, and stopped talking.
Calm returned to the locker room, and everyone put on their gear in silence. If there is no episode that just happened, there will be a sense of calm and solemnity before the game, but we all know that high school has never been associated with peace.
The players were leaving, and it was the first game of the Barton High School football season, and they needed to get off to a good start, to get there early to feel the atmosphere on the field, to put the Beavers on their mark, which was the 'superstition of the game', or tradition. So getting in ahead of the Goats at Cosway High School was part of the game......
"Vincent, take a good look at Xiàn. Kyle looked up and said to Vincent, who was walking outside.
The honest Vincent nodded, made a 'thank you' lip gesture, and left. Soon, only the two people who had been arguing before were left in the locker room. Obviously, the altercation affected the mood of the two, and both moved slower than their teammates, and the consequence of the slowness was that if the two had an argument again, there would be no one to stop them.
"Hypocrisy!" Connor said into the air.
"What are you talking about!" Kyle slammed to his feet, flicking off his knee pads.
"Do you want me to repeat that?" Connor turned, defiant.
Kyle clenched his fists, his heaving chest made more pronounced by the wide armor, but Kyle held back, turned his face away, picked up his armor, and continued to equip himself.
"What? Are you afraid of me? Kyle Barton, grandson of Barton's founder, no one is stopping me, and now you don't even dare touch me?" Connor continued to provoke, fortunately, he was already helmeted, and we didn't need to see his face now.
"Don't get an inch, Connor!" Kyle suppressed his anger.
"How else? Do you want to hit me?" now we can see why this guy is wearing a helmet. When fighting, the most important thing is to protect your face. Hehe.
Kyle is unmoved, bag in one hand and helmet in the other, ready to leave.
"Are you going to just get away like this?" Connor stepped forward and thrust Kyle, who was facing away from him, "like a coward!"
Kyle, who was unsteady in his center of gravity, staggered against the wall, "You can touch me again!"
Connor stepped forward again: "I touched it, how can you ......"
Connor's voice was forcibly terminated, and the clash of armor and armor resounded in the locker room......!
When the game stopped, the dressing room was quiet, except for the heavy gasps of one man......
"Kyle, Kyle!" A clear female voice came from the locker room door, "Where are you, Kyle?" A girl with a cheerleading ball in her hand stood in the doorway and looked in, "Kyle, are you in there?"
"Lola, I'm here!" Kyle's voice came from the depths.
"Oh, please, brother, you're going to hurry! Where's Connor, everybody's waiting for you two!"
"Don't! Don't come in! Uh, we're not dressed yet!" Kyle's anxious voice came out. "Uh!" the girl quickly backed off as if disgusted, covering her eyes with colored balls, "Thank goodness I didn't see anything!
"Don't wait for us!" Kyle's voice came, "We'll drive over by ourselves! You tell everyone to let them go to the stadium first!"
"Okay, hurry up, let's go first!" The girl had already exited the locker room, and her youthful face rolled her eyes, which was very characteristic of high school girls, and whispered to imitate her brother's tone: "Let's drive over by ourselves!
When the last school bus left for Fenway Park, Reipt High School resumed the dead silence that the weekend should have been.
A black sedan slowly pulls out and into the road, Kyle with his hands on the steering wheel and leaning back in his seat. His face was pale, and his whole body was shaking violently. The road, which can lead to the stadium or to the Barton Police Station, is Kyle's heart struggling......
"Hey!"
While waiting for the red light, a voice interrupts Kyle's thoughts, and he turns his head to the left as if frightened. A man with sunglasses, a hat, and a cigarette sitting in a dilapidated van, reaches out his gloved hand and knocks on Kyle's window, seeing Kyle notice him, his fingers turn and signal to lower the window.
Kyle lowers the window.
"Hey, boy, you're looking so bad. Are you a Beaver player? We're going to watch a game. I want to remind you, please fasten your seatbelts! I don't want my team to lose one player due to a traffic accident!"
Kyle looked at the fair-skinned man and seemed to think of something.
