Chapter 15: Records (II)

After another week of running-in, the Forest team hosts Aston Villa.

Nottingham Forest's starting line-up for this game was no different from the previous league game away to Blackburn. But Donn saw hope in the game – the players were getting better and better in terms of running and passing with each other, which showed that his insistence on training was successful and correct.

However, it wasn't all smooth sailing, and with the home fans singing deafeningly, Forest were intent on attacking Aston Villa to try to score first.

Unexpectedly, it was the visiting team that scored first. Just four minutes into the game, Aston Villa's Sweden international Melberg (olof_mellberg) blasted Darren away with a long-range shot? Ward's guarded gate. The goal sent the City Stadium to a moment of silence.

At the beginning of the song, our team conceded a goal. Many people didn't even find their seats, and when they heard the cheers coming from the direction of the visitors' fans' stands, they turned to look at the scoreboard in surprise.

0:1! Home team Nottingham Forest are behind!

Is there a repeat of the results of the last round of the league? Could it be that Forest's return to the Premier League in four years will start with a two-game losing streak?

The camera lens is focused on Tony sitting in the dugout? Donn, the man who quickly became the favourite coach of the Forest fans since January 2003, is that he always brings victory to the Forest fans when needed. As the youngest manager in the Premier League this season – just 35 years old – many are questioning his ability to lead the team in the Premier League.

Turn your head to look at David sitting next to him? Chrislak, Donn didn't speak. He's used to thinking it's Des sitting here? Walker. When Walker left, he said that his talent was not suitable for the Premier League, so he needed to work on himself.

And Tony? What about Donn? He doesn't doubt his own abilities, it's a necessary confidence, even if it seems a little blind at times...... But now the situation has forced him to start proving himself again.

So he turned to Karislak again and said: "There's nothing to worry about, we've got 86 minutes to equalize...... and overtaking the score. ”

Assistant coach Krislak nodded. Donn was right, conceding in the first four minutes is actually the best situation when falling behind is a foregone conclusion, and it's better than conceding four minutes before the end of the game.

Aston Villa were a bit conservative after taking the lead, and it was clear that they didn't expect to be able to take a one-goal lead in the first half...... Melberg is a centre-back and it is not often that he rushes up and scores from distance.

Forest seized Aston Villa's slight relaxation and counter-attacked at Donn's cue to get back on the tempo of the game.

Finally, in the 38th minute, Forest's wave after wave of attacks put a huge pressure on the Aston Villa backline, and a sharp break by Ribery on the left flank and then a cross left Aston Villa centre-back Laursen busy with a mistake and headed the ball into his own goal!

Own goal!

The City Stadium was cheered.

Ribery, who had achieved the top priority, was surrounded by his excited teammates who congratulated him on his outstanding performance. The Frenchman, who rose from the French third division to become a regular in the Premier League, was promoted as quickly as he dribbled the ball on the pitch. He also won the hearts of the Forest players at a faster pace.

"Well done!" David as an assistant coach? Chris Lak looked even more excited than Donn, and he burst out of the dugout and jumped high.

Don just stood up and raised his arms. Ribery's performance was expected, of course...... How can the core of the French midfield, who will be selected for the French national team in the future and become Zidane's successor, not even cope with such a game?

The Sky TV commentator chanted Ribery's name and praised Donne: "Oh my God! Where did he find this genius? Frank? Ribery! A month and a half ago, he was an obscure little character, and now, he's Scarface! ”

Based on the scar on Ribery's face, combined with the name of the famous Hollywood violent movie, the narrator created a nickname that followed Ribery until his retirement - Scarface!

Sounds pretty good, right? Ribery loved it too.

The final result of this game was 1:1, and Ribery's active performance on the left flank dispelled the doubts of many Forest fans. Tang En looked at people's eyes, and they could only bow and worship.

※※※A promoted horse has their first Premier League point of the season, and such news is only available in Nottingham, out of Nottingham, no one cares if Forest loses again, and no one cares about Ribery's excellent performance. Almost all of England is now singing the praises of one team and one man – on 22 August 2004, Arsene Wenger's Arsenal beat Middlesbrough 5-3 at home to equalling the record set by a Forest team in the Clough era for the most consecutive unbeaten games in the English top flight.

Ahead of the game, the Premier League chief executive presented Arsenal with a small trophy of the Premier League Champions Gold Cup in recognition of their unbeaten record last season, with the words "Arsenal, champions 2003-2004, 38 games, 26 wins, 12 draws, 0 defeats". At the same time, Henry was also rewarded with the "Golden Boot" as last season's top scorer.

It all looked like it was a celebration for Arsenal, and the troubles caused by the Middlesbrough man were quickly drowned out in the cheers of the Arsenal people.

Arthur? Arsene Wenger was triumphant, Arsenal were on top of the pack and they looked almost invincible. All opponents must bow down before the gunslinger.

The feeling of being alone and seeking defeat...... I wonder if Arsene Wenger, a Frenchman, has realized it?

After the game, Arsenal's official website made a special feature, listing the scores and opponents of these 42 games, as well as the time, to commemorate the team's glorious road. Then below the line "42, Arsenal 5-3 Middlesbrough, 22-08-2004", there is a row of red letters:

25-08-2004, Nottingham Forest-Arsenal, 43?

The last "43" and the question mark are both magnified and highlighted, but perhaps...... This is not a question sentence?
