Patrol missions

The town's undead commander is a fat abomination named Segard, a fierce man of rank 9. That bloated and fat body to the extreme, even if the fat wave came to its eyes, it became an inconspicuous little meat. So in order to accommodate most of the low undead, this abomination could only sit flat on the ground, and a tall wooden platform was placed in front of it. So that all the visiting spirits of the dead can stand on the wooden platform and talk to the abomination on an equal footing.

As trainee guards who came here, of course, Fei Bo and the others had to meet with the commander first to report. After a brief welcome, Segard sent them to Burgess, the captain of the town's guard.

The captain of the guard, Burgess, was a large skeleton general, dressed in simple chain mail and a large, somewhat exaggerated two-handed sword behind his back, who was leisurely hiding in the noisy crooked-mouthed tavern and sipping the new moonshine.

Since Deathknell is also the gateway to the zombie lord ahead, Stratholme has also arranged a mission here: Iron Man. However, since there is no special mission hall, this ironhead from the Isa Public Service Center rented a space in a corner of the tavern to provide mission services for mercenaries from north to south.

Therefore, in this tavern with an area of less than 100 square meters, dozens of fierce mercenaries with big shoulders and round waists were squeezed out. If it weren't for Fat Bo and the strength of the handles, maybe a few guys would have been squeezed into pictures and wouldn't have tried to get close to the captain of the guard on the inside of the tavern.

After hurriedly reporting to the captain of the guard, and quickly receiving two related tasks, the 5 guys squeezed out with great difficulty. However, when he came out, he found that one of Ann's right legs could not be found.

Looking back at the crowded field where there was a fight with canned sardines, Ann gritted his teeth for a long time, and didn't have the courage to squeeze in again.

The two missions they just received were: the duties of the undead guards and the Doomsday Grass.

The undead guards are tasked with patrolling the right side of Deathknell to prevent the wandering wild undead from damaging the supplies stored here. It is said that a group of dark dogs that have not yet been domesticated have appeared there, and it is very troublesome to clean up.

As for Doom Grass, it was a commission issued by Holland, a junior apothecary in Death Bell Town, and it seems that it needs to use Doom Grass to make some kind of mysterious potion. According to Blackblade's inquiry, there is a wasteland in the route they patrol that may find this Doomsday Grass.

As soon as a few guys arrived and discussed, they decided to set off non-stop.

Since the entire patrol route was a full thirty miles in circumference, Fei Bo and the others led five bone horses from the stable at the edge of the town according to the usual rules, and set off on them with a tick. As a substitute mount for ordinary guards, the Bone Horse is 108,000 miles worse than the Skeleton War Horse commonly used by undead knights.

Most of the skeleton war horses are summoned from the complete bones of some kind of alien beast, and usually the soul fire is relatively complete, and after a long run-in, it can establish a tacit companionship with the owner. But the bone horse was summoned by the corpse witches with the bad bones and dry bones that can be found everywhere in the undead world. Due to the fact that the whole process is quite shoddy, the performance of the bone horse in all aspects is too far worse than that of the bone warhorse and even the nightmare beast, and probably the only advantage is that the price is low enough and the materials are inexhaustible.

Without the innate ferocity of the Bone Horse and Nightmare Beast, the Bone Horse was a skeleton monster that could run on four legs, and riding on it did not have that sense of majesty at all. But after all, this is also a good means of transportation, so everyone did not dislike it, one by one, they rode their horses and whips, and galloped quickly on the bleak wasteland, along the route simply outlined in the map.

Due to the unexpected defeat of the legendary lich, the territory of the undead forces to which it belongs has been occupied by the Knights of the Black Blade. In order to fill the empty area of troops left after the collapse of the opponent's forces, Stratholme is also constantly transferring the newly recruited undead to this area. Therefore, as soon as you leave Deathknell Town, you can see a long line with no end in sight on the main road next to the town.

Zombies, skeletons, ghouls, ghosts, ghosts, ...... All the undead staggered down the avenue with expressionless faces. It was only when Fat Bo and his party whipped their horses and passed by them proudly that they raised their heads and sent the group of undead out of their horizon with a numb, dull gaze.

It's been a long and difficult journey.

It took nearly a month to travel from Stratholme to the core of the undead forces, so it would take the same amount of time to send them back. The cemeteries and towns built every 100 miles along the way are the central nodes set up for this transfer route. On the one hand, the undead mercenaries running around on this road have a place to exchange information and intelligence, and on the other hand, it is also a small cantonment point.

Now as trainee guards in Deathknell Town, Fat Wave's main duty is to regularly patrol the surrounding area to avoid the wandering wild undead from disturbing the heavy troop transport line.

The patrol route map received from Captain Burgess of the Guard had apparently been revised over a period of time, and had run through almost every nesting location in the vast area to the right of Deathknell. You must know that except for some special races that like to wander, most of the undead are basically the same in their nesting choices, and they all favor those special occasions where negative energy is hoarded. Therefore, as long as you walk through these areas, you can basically find out the dynamics of the surrounding undead.

Undead lords who usually have a fixed territory will also take their personal guards to trample their territory completely along a fixed route every once in a while. In this way, you can not only promote your might, but also a means to sharpen your subordinates. However, with the time system of the undead, such regular parades are usually in a cycle of ten or decades.

The emergence of the cemetery has significantly accelerated the internal cycle. On average, every cemetery village or town will carry out a large-scale armed patrol every two or three days, ignoring the ordinary undead in the area under its jurisdiction, and only pinching off individual thorns. In some cases, they will even support a certain number of undead races as allies to stabilize the surrounding area. However, for the wandering undead from outside, they will be strangled to avoid instability.

Along the way, the undead squad rode on horseback, first along the troop line to the south, and then turned northeast when they were twenty miles away from Deathknell. Along the way, you pass through the Agamande Mill, the Ash Manor, the Spider Canyon, and finally the Whispering Garden. On the patrol map issued by Burgess, this place is specially marked as a target that needs to be focused on patrolling.

The Garden of Whispers was once a hugely beautiful garden and home to the fearsome Crimson Abbey. Legend has it that there is a mysterious monk who has survived for tens of thousands of years and likes to feed on the blood of the living. It's a pity that with the gradual decline of the undead world, the entire plane tends to be undead, and this place will also fall silent together.

The old monk never showed up again, but every guy who trespassed on the Scarlet Monastery mysteriously disappeared inside and never came out again. Therefore, this is also a forbidden place within a radius of thousands of miles, and even the undead who usually have no taboos dare not move closer.

When Stratholme first cleared the surrounding ground, he also sent people to explore this mysterious place, but was repelled by the endless traps and magical attacks inside. So far, I still haven't understood the specific situation inside, and in the end I can only seal it hastily. Therefore, the only task assigned by Burgess to Fat Bo and his party was to inspect the surroundings of the Crimson Abbey to see if any of the stupid undead had strayed into the area and broken the magical seals left by the corpse witches.

After all, magic seals also have special mana fluctuations, and they are naturally easy to attract the attention of some magical creatures, so regular patrols are also necessary.

I don't know why, as soon as Fatty Bo stepped into here, he had a creepy feeling, and he faintly felt that a mysterious gaze had been watching him. However, after asking a few companions, none of them felt anything unusual, which couldn't help but make him a little suspicious.

Riding a bone horse slowly through the barren and abandoned gardens, there is no longer the imaginary bird song and the fragrance of flowers, but the gray and ghostly things. Tens of thousands of years of drastic changes in the world have made this place a world where baby monsters, banshees, and flower spirits enjoy themselves, gathering a large number of twisted monsters who only know how to satisfy their appetites. Every undead creature that intrudes into this place will fall into their endless array of strange illusions, becoming fertilizer for special plants that love death and resentment.

It can be seen that the corpse witches who broke into this place last time should have taught the monsters here a hard lesson. These mushrooms and sunflowers, who looked like they had legs and legs, were clustered in the flower beds on both sides of the road, and instead of casting a talent illusion on Fat Bo and his party as usual, they held hands and sang melodious children's songs, giggling and inviting Fat Bo to join them.

These guys are all smiling mushrooms contaminated with rich negative energy, and once transformed into flower spirits, they have a special ability similar to illusion, although their individual strength is not strong, but they can't stand up to being super terrifying social creatures. Hundreds or thousands of smiling mushrooms can be gathered together to form a mirage-like illusion realm, allowing bewitched creatures to indulge in it without realizing it.

Don't look at their appearance as cute mini smiling mushrooms, but they also eat meat, and they won't let go of their souls.

Perhaps, when a group of smiling mushrooms pounce on the victim, the victim is still smiling and immersed in some unknown fantasy world!
