Chapter 45 Sailor
Captain Hawke watched Bruce leave, then turned to his boss and said, "I've recruited sailors, if you have time now, come with me to take a look." They are mostly barbarians from the north, lost pirates, and a half-orc. When Henry heard this, he stood up and said, "Then what are we waiting for, let's go now." The old captain smiled at him and said, "All right, but what about this Miss Amy beside you?" We're going to Mouse Alley, where there are more rats than in the sewers. If such a beautiful woman were there, it would definitely cause a riot. Amy smiled charmingly and said, "Don't worry, Mr. Captain, if anyone dares to come, I will teach him a profound lesson." After saying that, he used a magic trick to draw a ring of fire in the air. Hawke said to Henry, somewhat surprised, "Oh! Boss, you never told me Miss Amy was a mage! Henry Harry laughed and said, "My captain! She's not a mage, she's a dragon vein sorcerer. Okay, don't worry about this, you just need to know that she has the ability to leave those ** killing pieces of armor behind. β
The old captain took out his pipe and added some tobacco, struck it with flint, took a deep breath, and then reveled in intoxication. He hadn't smoked cigarettes anymore, and these shredded tobaccos were goddamn foreign, and each small bag was enough to bankrupt an average family. After getting off the boat, he took the gold coins given to him by the boss and bought a little for himself. After two puffs, he said to Henry, "Boss, do you want to take a sip, it's a very refreshing thing." Henry smiled and shook his head in refusal, the smell of tobacco he hated the most. Hawke took his pipe in his mouth and said, "Then let's go now, and after we've seen it early, we can get the sailors on board." Otherwise, twenty sailors would not be able to afford so many slaves to-morrow. After saying that, he turned around and walked ahead to lead the way.
In the midst of a labyrinth of streets and alleys, they spent a long time searching for "Mouse Alley". It was on the edge of the pier, parallel to the sea, and looked like it couldn't be walked through in the fog. Long, low warehouses are lined with broken boxes and boxes scattered across the streets, making the already narrow passages a man-only passage in many places. Suddenly, a figure stepped out of the alley, cloaked and hooded tightly around his body. Then the captain spoke, "Hello, dear Whistleber, I have already paid, and now I will take my sailors away." "The black shadow took off her hood, and it was a good-looking woman. She touched the weapon around her waist and said, "Damn Hawke, you should have taken them all after you paid just now!" Now you need to pay a hundred gold for safekeeping, you know those rude guys have made a mess of my warehouse. The captain smiled and said, "Well, if I see them all right, I'll pay." Behind these two are my bosses, who want to see his crew. Now lead the way. β
The woman stared at Henry and Amy for a moment. It's a pity that Amy has already put her hood tightly on and hasn't seen anything, but Henry generously shows her long silver hair and eyes, and looks at each other without fear. Whistlebber's heart raced a little when she saw it, and she turned around and said, "Come on, keep up, be careful not to touch things, otherwise I won't be responsible for any accidents." The group jumped up and down the path, and finally stopped at a dock warehouse. Whistle stepped forward and whispered a secret word to the crack in the door, and the door opened, and out came several men with crossbows standing in the doorway. When I walked in, I found that the whole warehouse was just a façade, and the real warehouse was underground. About one hundred and fifty sailors were gathered here, and half of them, as the captain said, were Northland barbarians about two meters tall. They have muscular bodies and strong muscles, but they don't look like they're in a good place right now, because none of them even have a decent piece of clothing. The other half are down-and-out pirates with various scars on their faces, and their fierceness and cruelty can be seen on their faces. A green-skinned orc sat alone in the corner, silent.
Wheatper turned to the captain and said, "Well, you see that they are all right, and you will take them all away within an hour after paying." Hawke threw a small purse to the woman and stepped forward and shouted, "Quiet! Now you're my crew. Let me introduce you to you, this Mr. Henry behind him is our boss. He is a wealthy lord and a powerful mage, and all you need in the future is to serve him. "The barbarians were visibly flustered at hearing the word mage, and the place where they lived was a veritable magical desert, which caused the barbarians to have both fear and contempt for spells. After a few minutes, a man came out of the barbarians, and he said to Henry in a loud voice, "As long as you promise not to use those evil spells on us, we will agree to serve you." Henry laughed at this, and said, "If this is your custom, then I respect your choice." Upon hearing his assurance, the tall barbarian led all the barbarians to his knees and said, "I, Absen, am here to swear loyalty to you on behalf of the entire Karut tribe. As long as you guarantee our warrior status and do not insult our honor, we will fight to the death for you. Henry knew that this was a ritual of allegiance unique to the barbarians, and that small tribes often took refuge in some powerful force or people in the wild northlands. He raised his right hand and placed it on Absen's shoulder and said, "I accept your loyalty and give you the glory of dying in battle." Now that you are all my warriors, I will give you weapons when I get on board. β
Abson stood up with his tribe and stood behind Henry with a smile and touching his bald head. Henry then said to the pirates, "Don't you like evil spells either?" The pirates cracked their mouths and laughed, and they exclaimed, "Head, of course not!" We like magic to punch our enemies in the face, and we like to be blessed with all kinds of magic. Then the pirates got up and followed. After that, Henry turned his head to the orc sitting in the corner and said, "Mr. Green-skinned, do you have any special requirements?" The orc looked a little surprised by his kind attitude, and he touched his belly and said, "You are the first human who has not insulted me, and I have nothing to ask for as long as I can fill my stomach." Seeing that it was all done, Henry said to Captain Hawke, "All right, Captain, now we can bring them to the ship." With the allegiance of these barbarians, almost no one could incite a rebellion among the sailors as long as they were armed. The captain nodded slightly in agreement and said aloud, "All right, now everyone come with me, and I'll take them to the boat for a feast and a drink." Have a good night's rest and have things to do tomorrow. β
Henry walked out of Mouse Alley with a large number of people, and the thieves and tramps around him were so frightened that they all hid when they saw so many people. Soon after, he came to the berth of the Pier Sword, returned to the ship, and Hawke simply assigned the personnel. In order to avoid unnecessary friction, he singled out four brilliant guys from the original crew as captains, leaving fifteen barbarians and pirates on the Sword. The other barbarians and pirates were divided into two teams to take over the other four ships. Henry then ordered the kitchen to make a large sum of food and gave each man a large glass of ale, and the sailors, who had been somewhat strange, soon became acquainted with each other. After eating, Henry led everyone to the cargo hold, and he opened the canvas to reveal the glittering weapons and armor. The barbarian immediately rushed forward, greedily stroking a handful of steel weapons, and then shed tears. Then he opened his mouth and explained to Henry: "When we were attacked by the Winter Wolves, if we had such a good weapon, we would not have been scattered, and the whole tribe was bitten to death, and only a few people escaped. β
Henry patted him on the shoulder comfortingly and said, "Don't worry, I have a large piece of territory. Your tribe will repopulate there. Now let's distribute the weapons, and as for the armor, I don't think these things made for ordinary humans can be worn on you tall savages. Asembu wiped away his tears and beckoned the men behind him to come and pick up weapons, the barbarians preferred heavy ones such as warhammers, axes, meteor hammers, two-handed greatswords, and disdainful of scimitars, swords, daggers, and spears. The pirates behind them, on the other hand, chose weapons that were light and quick. Once the crew was armed, they returned to their ships and began to rest. Henry also returned to the deck, and he felt that the conditions on the ship were better than the smoky curved dagger. In the moonlight, he saw the orc sitting in the bow of the boat, the green-skinned guy holding a wine glass and sipping ale.
Henry was a little curious, and his intuition told him that the orc must have a story of his own. He walked over to the bow of the boat and sat down side by side with the orc, and then he said, "Don't mind if I ask you about it." The orc cracked his mouth and laughed, "Of course not, I can tell you if you like." My name is Vaughn, born in the Northlands, and my father was a barbarian chieftain. To show his prowess, he killed a tribe of orcs and raped my mother and kept her in the tribe as a slave. Then I was born, and I didn't have a good childhood. My father hated me for feeling that I had tarnished his bloodline, and the rest of the clan rejected me for feeling that I wasn't one of them. I fought hard to get recognition, but it didn't work. And so, after my mother died, I left the tribe and wandered around, starving all the way south, most of the human towns rejected me, and they didn't even allow me to enter. Later, I heard that Luskan treats orcs quite well here, especially when sailors on ships can be recognized if they work hard enough. But when I came here, it wasn't as good as I thought it was, but you look like a good boss. β
"Rest assured, what you're looking for will get here, I promise." Henry patted him on the shoulder and took it up. This is a guy who is haunted by his own bloodline, which happens to most half-breed humans. As long as there is a place to give them some sense of belonging, these half-humans will fight for their lives.
