Chapter 113: The Emissary of Shadow Moon Island
Amanda shook her head after doing a few simple tests on the three little ones. "It's a shame that it didn't become a druid's talent. Maybe you can send them to the Mage Tower to test them out, I've heard that there are also apprentices there lately. ā
The village chief touched the heads of the children and sighed. "Thank you very much for what you have done for us, so forget it, Master Apprentice. Ordinary peasant families like ours don't have enough gold to complete the expensive mage studies. ā
In the following time, Amanda took several apprentices to diagnose and treat the sick people in the village, and prescribed some herbs for them. In the end, with the enthusiasm of the villagers, the group stayed in the wild boar village for one night. The next morning, they packed their bags and continued on to the next village.
As soon as Henry returned to the Mage's Tower, he began to study the notes of the Mad Alchemist. After turning a few pages, he was impressed by the alchemical skills of the legendary mage. In this notebook alone, at least a thousand magical items are made. Next to each magic item, there are several different recipes for the user to choose from. There were some special techniques that he had never even heard of others, and the value of this knowledge was simply immeasurable.
For the next month, Henry nearly locked himself in the mage tower. While learning some of the techniques in the learner's notes, he did some hands-on practice himself. The 100,000 or so experience points were quickly squandered, and when he realized that he had lost a lot of experience points, his eyes were already full of magical items that had been made out.
Henry picked up a piece of dragon leather armor and wiped the dust on it, laughing, every item here witnessed the progress of alchemy technology. Just as he was looking for a place to wash his face and hang his beard, Amy walked in through the door. She saw Henry's haggard face. The deep-sunken appearance of the eyes was startled.
"Master, what's wrong with you? Don't tell you you haven't slept much for a whole month. ā
"You're so smart. I really haven't had much rest in over a month. Take a look at the magic items here, they're all the result of my month. ā
"OMG! It's crazy! You shouldn't be crazy looking at the notes of Hylast's black robe! ā
Henry sighed, picked up the notes on the table and handed them to Amy. "After reading the knowledge recorded here, I realized how ridiculous my previous alchemy techniques were. There's at least a third or so of the recipe in it, and we've never heard of it. I've only slept for a maximum of two hours a day for a month, and now I've learned all the new techniques in this notebook. ā
Amy's notes were put aside and said to Henry, "Leave that alone, there's news from the town hall that Tristan, the High King of Shadowmoon Island. Kendrick sent a fleet to us for help. It is said that a god unleashed storms, droughts, blizzards, and hurricanes in their country, and the entire country has almost certainly been wiped out this year. They want to be able to buy some grain from us in large quantities. to alleviate the crisis in the country. As she spoke, she pulled out a book about Talos, the god of storms, and shook it.
"Take me to meet them first, and wait until we meet." Henry teleported to the door of the town hall with Amy.
The guards guarding the door found that it was the lord who hurriedly ran over to salute, and Henry waved his hand casually and walked in directly. As he walked, he thought about how to deal with this matter, and it was obviously unwise to go against the powerful Storm God for the sake of a Shadowmoon Island. However, what he didn't understand was what the High King had done to cause Talos to make such a big move.
Before he could figure it out, he had unknowingly walked into the mayor's office. Hawke saw Henry walk in and hurried over. "Earl, you're finally here, and I can't make the most of such a big matter."
"Now bring the messenger in, I need some answers from him before I can decide whether to grant their request."
"Please wait a moment, I'll send someone to ask for him." As he spoke, Hawke instructed the clerk standing next to him to invite the envoy from Shadowmoon Island to come and meet.
A few minutes later, the clerk walked in with a middle-aged man in a gown. When he saw it, Henry bowed. "You must be Count Angomel, I am an emissary from Shadowmoon Island, you can call me Achill." Henry stood up with a smile and shook his hand.
"Hello Mr. Archer. I've heard that a certain god is sending down divine punishment on Shadowmoon Island. What the hell is going on? Hearing Henry's question, the messenger smiled bitterly.
"Because the priests of the Bane Resurrection Society launched an attack on Shadowmoon Island two years ago, and we, along with the harpist, sabotaged their plot. He had formed an alliance with the god before Bane fell, and I think it might have angered him, so he sent horrific natural disasters to punish us. ā
Hearing these explanations, Henry immediately understood why. The people of Shadowmoon Island were just being angered, so he could secretly open a convenient door for these people.
"I agree to let you export grain, but not in the open. After all, you're offending a powerful god, and our deal is best done behind the scenes. When the time comes, I'll pick a secluded island to trade on.
Achill breathed a sigh of relief when he heard the affirmative reply, and he had finally accomplished the goal of the mission.
"Thank you very much for your support, on behalf of the High King Tristan. Kendrick thanks you. We pay five times the market price for all the food and give you a unique technology. Now that the whole country is in a state of famine, I am afraid it will not last long. ā
"Rest assured, in three days at most, I will have enough food to transport to the designated island, and someone will take care of this at that time. If nothing else, I'll go back and rest first, you know, I've been doing a lot of work in the Mage Tower for a month, and now my eyes are almost open. With that, Henry pointed to his deep-sunken eyes.
"I'm sorry to disturb your rest. Now that the deal has been negotiated, I'll take my leave, and we'll see you again in three days. With that, Achill stood up and bowed, then turned to leave.
When he was far away, Hawke asked a little nervously, "Count, you won't offend the god by doing this, I don't want to see those natural disasters wreak havoc on our territory." ā
"Don't worry Sir, we can't be implicated in this matter yet. As long as the transaction is carried out in a discreet enough way, it will not attract the attention of others. You go and count our food now, and I'm going to have someone in charge of this. ā
"Rest assured about food, we have enough reserves to supply them for a while. And the autumn harvest is just a few months away, and this year will still be a good year. Hearing that there was nothing wrong with the food, Henry took Amy straight out of the town hall to Robert's Thieves' Guild.
"Master, why is your face so bad?" Robert looked at his sister and then at Henry, asking suspiciously.
"Leave these things alone, I need you to be responsible for one thing. The people of Shadowmoon Island want to buy food from us, but for some reason they can't really make a big deal. I need you to find a hidden island and take care of the whole process yourself. Robert frowned at this request and thought for a moment.
"Master, it is better to choose the island where the slave trade takes place. It's a natural deep harbor, and I've built a warehouse in the cave. ā
"You can do it. I only have one requirement, and that is that it must be hidden enough, and the fewer people who know about it, the better. In addition, the food matter goes directly to Hawke, and he will give you enough of it. If nothing goes wrong, I'll go back and rest. With that, Henry yawned a lot, and he really should have rested.
After explaining everything, Henry returned to the Lord's Mansion, and as soon as he entered the door, he startled the butler.
"Count, your face is really ugly, do you want me to help you call a priest to heal you."
"It's completely unnecessary, it's just the consequence of staying up late in a row, as long as you rest for a few days, you'll be fine." With that, Henry began to walk towards his room, and the butler hurriedly brought a bowl of hot soup from the kitchen into the bedroom.
"Earl, drink a sip of hot soup and go to sleep, or your stomach will be very uncomfortable."
Henry took the bowl and drank it all in one gulp, and he thanked the butler before going to sleep. It didn't take long for the cry to sound, and the butler carefully took off his boots, socks, and coat, and finally walked out of the room and closed the door. When he came down the stairs he happened to run into Henry's mother, and when Lily saw the housekeeper, she immediately asked, "Hasn't my son come back yet?" Nothing will happen to him. I've heard that the real yĆ n performed by the mages is very dangerous, and every year people are injured or even killed. ā
The butler replied, "The Count has just returned, and does not seem to have suffered any harm except that he is very tired. He's asleep in the bedroom now, and if there's nothing important, I think it's better not to disturb him. ā
Lily breathed a sigh of relief to hear that her son was okay. "It seems that my worries are unnecessary, as long as it's okay. If he wakes up, tell him something, and I'd like to discuss something with him. ā
"Rest assured, I will convey this matter to the Count personally. If nothing else, I'll go to the kitchen and prepare today's recipe. ā
"There's nothing else to do, you go get busy, I'm going to Sir Hawke's house to get Lina back." After saying that, Lily left the lord's mansion and rode to the city in a carriage. (To be continued......)
