Chapter Eighty-Three: Flowing Experience Points

There is no day or night in the dark lands.

The noisy moment has passed, and after a busy day, both the mercenaries and the paladins are exhausted. The paladins returned to their strongholds, while the mercenaries slipped into their tents in twos and threes, yawning and falling asleep.

No one noticed, and at this moment, a group of black shadows quietly slipped out of the stronghold and walked towards the depths of the passage. They easily dodged the guards of the colony, then burrowed into the shadows of the dark passages, and groped their way to the cave where Jenn lived.

The Templar Church was based in an abandoned mine of the Grey Dwarves, and Locks and the others built a fortress and a ring of defensive walls on the spot when they arrived. Most of the mercenaries lived in tents, scattered around the perimeter of the fortress. But for the whole, they still live in the mines. After all, in the dark region, it is relatively safe to gather together, and even if there is any trouble, it is good to take care of each other.

Jenn, however, clearly disliked crowded places, and instead simply picked up a cave at the edge of the passage as a place to rest. It's relatively far from the stronghold, and it's not crowded on weekdays, but it's safe because it's in the Holy Knights' defensive circle. It's just that because of the remote location, there is no one to come and go on weekdays.

Because of this, these dark shadows felt unusually smooth along the way, and it didn't take long for them to come to the cave where Jenn was. I saw that the black shadow led by him poked his head out, glanced left and right, and then opened his mouth and let out a few "hiss" sounds. Then, in the gap next to the cave, another dark shadow emerged.

"How's it going?"

Seeing his presence, the half-elf Custer asked in a low voice, and the shadow nodded in response to Custer's inquiry.

"They haven't been in there all this time."

"Good!"

Hearing this answer, Custer's eyes flashed with joy. As the leader of the Thieves' Guild, he came to the Dark Regions this time just to try his luck, but he didn't gain much. After all, thieves are no better than other professions, and it's okay to explore the path or something, but it's very difficult to fight underground monsters head-on. Not only that, but due to the strange and unusual whereabouts of the underground monsters, the thieves under his command not only failed to play a role, but instead broke a lot of people. After this time, Custer has retreated, but he is unwilling to leave from the dark area.

And at this time, Viscount Ralph's bounty made Custer see a new path, indeed, those monsters in the dark region are difficult to deal with, but assassination and kidnapping or something, isn't this what the Thieves Guild is best at?

Because of this, Custer made up his mind to come over and trouble Jenn. Although they know that the other party is strong, the profession of thieves will not confront others head-on, and stabbing them in the back is what they are good at. If this vote can be successful, then my trip to the dark region will not be in vain!

Thinking of this, Custer sneered, and then he hurriedly made a gesture. In an almost inaudible voice, he gave orders to his subordinates behind him.

"Do it!!"

Hearing his words, I saw that several black-clothed people behind him suddenly slipped forward silently, and then they took out a wooden tube from their arms, shook it vigorously, and then lifted the lid and rolled the wooden tube down the ground into the cave. Then I saw that at the opening of the wooden tube, puffs of smoke drifted and dispersed, spreading into the depths of the cavern. The others raised their light crossbows and aimed them at the hole in front of them, and if there was anything out of the ordinary, they would fire their crossbow arrows at targets who dared to rush out of the hole.

There was no movement.

Until the smoke cleared, there was no reaction in the cavern. Seeing this scene, the man in black at the head frowned, perhaps because things were a little too smooth, which made him feel uneasy. But now it is ready to shoot and has to be sent. So he didn't say anything, but beckoned hard, then clenched the dagger in his hand, bent down and walked quietly into the cave.

The cave where Jenn lived was a droplet-shaped cavern with a relatively spacious interior and a passage that was almost ten meters long in the outer part of the passage. Moreover, this passage also has a 45-degree angle, so that people cannot see the inside of the cave at all. At this moment, all I could see was pitch black, and there was no sound inside.

Something doesn't seem right?

Custer frowned, what he had just let his men release was extremely powerful poison gas. Not only is it powerful, but most importantly, it is colorless and odorless, and as long as you inhale it, you will be completely unconscious. Now there is no reaction in it, and it stands to reason that his plan should have succeeded. But Custer was not very relieved, he had also heard of Jenn's awesomeness, could it be that he would really be so careless and just follow his own path so simply?

Maybe it's because they don't know what's going on.

Thinking of this, Custer gave himself another reason. According to their own spies, Jenn and the two women have been staying in the cave for the past few days and have never come out, and I am afraid they have no idea that Viscount Ralph has offered a bounty on their heads. If that's the case, then it's not impossible to be unconscious without defense. Of course, maybe these guys are having a good time inside, and they didn't expect this to happen.

Fantasizing about the vulgar scene, Custer sneered inwardly, and then pulled down the mask that covered his face. These masks are specially treated to shield against the power of poison gas. Otherwise, they wouldn't dare to walk in so rashly.

Merely...............

Thinking of this, Custer glanced at the ground. As a half-elf, he inherited the elf's dim vision, and was able to clearly see the scenery in front of him in the dark environment. Caster had felt that something was wrong before, but now when he thought about it, he realized that what he was stepping on was not uneven ground, but a flat stone slab.

How can there be slate here?

Seeing this scene, Custer was stunned for a moment. It's still an ordinary underground passage outside, why is it that even the stone slabs have been paved in the cave? Could it be that the same Jenn did it? It shouldn't be possible, maybe he found out that there was a cave dug by man here, so he came to live here?

Thinking of this, Custer shook his head and threw his inner doubts aside. They also knew that the stronghold was built in the abandoned mines of the gray dwarves, and when the mercenaries explored the surrounding area, they would occasionally find some discarded equipment of the gray dwarves, rooms and even sculptures. If this was once a place where the gray dwarves used to do something, and Jenn took a fancy to live there, it was not impossible.

But that wasn't the point, Caster just thought about it, and then he immediately gathered his mind and touched forward again. The most important thing at the moment is Jenn and those two women, and everything else will be discussed later!

Just as Custer was spinning the thought in his mind, the corner appeared in front of him. Seeing the dark cavern in front of him, Custer hesitated for a moment, then jumped up, and the whole person swooped through the air like a dexterous wild cat, and then fell to the ground silently. Immediately afterwards, he saw the half-elf rolling on the spot, and the dagger in his hand quickly blocked in front of him. But soon, Custer's eyes widened in surprise as he looked at the cave in front of him.

No one!

In Custer's eyes, the cavern, which looked like it was only slightly larger than a guest room, was empty. Only some miscellaneous items are piled up next to it. The campfire in the middle looked like it had long since been extinguished, and there was no sign of a fire at all. Not only that, but most importantly, there is no shadow of anyone here at all. Neither Jenn nor those two women are here!

How is this possible?

Custer glanced at the cave in front of him in amazement, it was a dead end, and there was no other exit. There's no way Jenn can escape his own surveillance! How did he leave? When did you leave? What the hell is going on?

"My lord, look over there!"

At the same time, several other thieves had already entered, and they were equally surprised to see what they saw. Soon, however, a thief screamed softly and reached out to the depths of the cavern. And looking at the place he was pointing, Custer was surprised to find that in the corner of the cave, there was a huge pitch-black chest!

What is this? Is it a treasure?

Seeing the box, Caster was excited, and he walked slowly to the wooden box and examined it carefully. Then he picked up the thief's tool in his hand and began to pick the lock. Soon, under Custer's men, the wooden box that had been locked jumped up with a "click". Castel didn't take it lightly, instead, he took a closer look around the crate and lifted two unusually hidden traps. Then he reached out and slowly pushed open the lid of the wooden box.

In an instant, the dazzling golden light came into everyone's eyes.

Inside the wooden box, there were glittering treasures everywhere, and countless gold coins were piled up into a small mountain, and on it were scattered the finest gems and crystals that radiated the brilliance of magic. Around the mountain, Custer also saw a dagger decorated with ornamentation, as well as some jewelry, which looked very valuable.

It's developed!!

Seeing so much treasure, Custer's eyes were about to fall out of his sockets, and he trembled with his hands and picked up a handful of gold coins, feeling the cold and heavy touch. The whole person couldn't help but tremble because of excitement and excitement, he didn't expect to find the treasure of doing this in such a place! Hahaha, as long as you can get back a tenth, then it's enough to squander!

Thinking of this, Custer reached out again with red eyes...............

"Poof."

With the cold touch, the golden light and wealth shining in front of him disappeared like a bubble in an instant. The half-elf stared blankly at the black tail blade that came out of his throat. The sharp pain made his mind clear in an instant, it was obvious that it was a trap, and he had become the fool who had stupidly jumped into the trap!

Thinking of this, Custer opened his mouth to shout, but with the withdrawal of the tail blade, air instantly burst out of Custer's throat, leaving only a series of almost inaudible gasps. The next moment, darkness came to him with an undoubted death, completely covering his vision.

[The enemy who invaded the dungeon has been completely destroyed, and the city lord has gained 70 experience points]

Jenn lowered his head and withdrew his gaze from the system information that popped up.

"It seems that this is indeed a good opportunity to improve your experience."
