Chapter 8: The Appearance of the Undead
Silent looked around and saw the scroll lying quietly not far from them. www.biquge.info I don't know if it's an illusion or not, but Celent feels that the scroll is even older than just now, giving people a dilapidated feeling.
Celent hurried over to pick up the scroll, but just as he took it in his hand, a chilling sensation suddenly struck him, and the air around him seemed to freeze, binding him in place.
"Little one, did you use the Soul Resurrection Charm just now?" A dry voice like metal grinding sounded from the depths of the forest, and a black-robed man with his whole body as if he was hiding in the shadows slowly walked out of the forest.
"Necromancer?" The black-robed man exuded a suffocating aura around the man, and Bishop Fren's efforts were not in vain, and Celent recognized the identity of the person at a glance.
I don't know if it's an illusion, but Celent feels that under the shadows, there are many holes in the necromancer's robes that look like they have just been created.
"What a gifted child. "For your gift, I can give you a choice, to sacrifice that scroll, to betray your faith, to surrender to me, and I will grant you eternal lifeβor be part of my army of the dead." β
"Isn't the result the same? I'm afraid that what you call eternal life is to become an undead," Serent said sharply.
"It's amazingly smart. But there is a difference between eternal life and eternal life, one is to have one's own wisdom, and the other is to become what you call the walking dead. The necromancer was surprisingly patient, "How do you choose?" You have ten seconds to think about it. β
"And what about him?" asked Celrant, looking at Alfie, who was frantically writing something on a note. For some reason, the necromancer just restrained him in place, while Alfie was not affected in the slightest.
As soon as the necromancer appeared, Alfie's heart was full of alarms, and the necromancer gave him a feeling of extreme danger that he had never felt before. He pinned his hopes entirely on the mysterious note, and when he realized that the necromancer's attention was completely out of his mind, he quickly began to write on the note:
"What to do with this necromancer?"
The note did not respond, Alfie once thought that the note had lost its magical effect with the name change, but just as he was about to give up, the following sentence suddenly appeared on the note:
"This is not possible with the current capacity of the host. It is recommended that the host play dead. β
Unreliable guy! Alfie's nose was crooked.
"Unfortunately, I have no interest in a walking corpse, if you want, I can make him a zombie to accompany you, of course his soul is not to be kept, a god of the underworld has taken his soul not long ago. The necromancer said unconcernedly.
What's going on? The necromancer didn't seem to treat Alfie as a living person at all, could it be that Alfie, who had been communicating with him for a long time, was just a walking corpse?
Alfie understood that the necromancer was actually not wrong, the original soul in Alfie's body was indeed gone, and his soul was afraid that the necromancer was not aware of it, after all, this kind of thing had never happened on this Ariad continent.
"The time has come. It's a shame. Your choice is not very wise. With a mocking gesture of his hand from the necromancer, Syrent found his body floating uncontrollably, and a strange but irresistible force began to break his fingers gripping the parchment scroll.
One, two...... Just as Celent felt that the sheepskin scroll was about to be released, another incredibly powerful force suddenly burst through the air, and as soon as this power appeared, the power that the necromancer had bound him immediately disappeared.
"Lucas, why did you tear up the agreement between us and run to the southern part of the Warcraft Forest? Are you declaring war on me?" a deafening roar resounded through the heavens and the earth.
"It's so fast!" the necromancer cursed secretly, and then replied in a loud voice, "Old lion, you are still so old-fashioned, compared to Milinda's chick, you know a lot more." β
"Don't compare me to that unprincipled goblin, I'll just ask you, did you want to start a war again by tearing up the agreement?" the roar of the old lion sounded again, but it never showed its true face.
"I said I was just borrowing a road, and the original agreement didn't say I couldn't pass through your territory. Lucas, the necromancer, quibbled.
"But you've launched an attack on humanity in my territory!"
"Far from it, it's just a bit of a movement, and this is already the edge of the Warcraft Forest. Lucas said slyly.
"Strong words!" roared the old lion angrily, "Lucas, put away your little cleverness. I ask again, are you trying to start a war again?"
"Okay, okay, for your sake, forget it this time. After the necromancer finished speaking, he said to Serent, "Little one, you are really lucky, and it is clear that the god of luck is watching over you. Take good care of that scroll and don't let anyone snatch it. We'll see you again soon. β
After saying that, the necromancer suddenly turned into a puff of black smoke and disappeared into the ground. Maybe it was an illusion, and Celent felt Lucas squeeze his eyes at him strangely before leaving.
After Lucas left, a majestic aura swept the two of them over, and the huge coercion pressed the two of them in place and couldn't move, this feeling was even greater than the pressure that Lucas had put on them just now. As if after confirming something, the aura that Lucas called the "old lion" fled in the direction of the Warcraft Forest.
"Is this saved?" asked Silent, who had fallen from mid-air and was half-dead, in surprise.
"I don't think so. Alfie looked around warily, and he realized that after crossing into this world, his intuition had become much sharper, perhaps it was some kind of talent left to him by his predecessor. Although the necromancer who posed a great threat had left, the warning signs in his heart had not disappeared.
"Be careful!" Alfie suddenly reminded in a loud voice, and he noticed an eerie black circle appear at Serent's feet, and as the circle appeared, gusts of wind appeared around them with a creepy ghostly cry.
With Alfie's shout, a crack suddenly opened in the circle on the ground, and billowing black smoke rose from it, followed by a thick skeletal arm sticking out of it, and the gray hand bones grabbed the scroll in Serrent's hand like lightning.
