Chapter 654: Nameless Mothership

Mayhem Canyon.

Alan climbed up a high ground and looked down. As far as he could see, the Cato were like a troop of ants, struggling between the sea of grass and strange rocks. After a three-hour trek, Alan believed he had entered the middle of the canyon. In the depths of this valley, the frost star's sunshine, which was not strong in the first place, was even more lifeless in the canyon.

The bleak light of dead fish white fell on this gloomy canyon, and when I looked up, the craggy cliffs that stretched up around the valley were exposed to the air like the bones of giant beasts, and the gray stone cliffs and the miserable green moss made the peaks look like moldy bones. The whole canyon was damp and oppressive, the ground was untouched by snow, and there were dark brown grass and mold-clad rocks, or crooked leafless bald trees, or caves on the cliffs on either side. They were pitch black and looked like mountain peaks with empty mouths.

As its name suggests, the canyon is teeming with twisted, chaotic flora and fauna. Yes, it's not just the terrain that's messy, it's completely irregular. Even the creatures that inhabit this canyon are completely different from the outside, some look like spiders and are the size of hunting dogs. But what looks like an abdomen is actually a head, a mouth grows above, and several eyeballs appear unevenly on both sides of the head. There are also humanoid monsters that look like a strange rock when they are still and still, but in fact they are humanoid monsters with three hands and four legs with large and small eyes on their upper bodies.

There are too many lives like this to mention, and in the three hours that Alan has been in the valley, he has seen too many strange things that come out of abstract paintings.

Like at this moment, a stone suddenly slashed at his feet. As he passed over the boot, a large eye suddenly opened on the surface, and multiple arthropods protruded from the edges, trying to climb onto Alan's shoes. In disgust, he stepped down and trampled the little monster into mud.

Looking down further, the Cato team had disappeared around the corner of a ravine.

Eren left the highlands and delved into a world full of long grass and strange trees, constantly on the lookout for strange creatures that are extremely deceptive and very good at camouflage. They can be a rock, a large tree, or even a long piece of grass. These things will always jump out of the cold and bite you, and if you have an easy bite to eat, they will soon become their real food.

In order not to be used as food by monsters, Eren hid his blood in his hands. Occasionally passing by some camouflaged creatures, if these creatures don't pounce on them for a long time, they will usually be silently split in half by the blood, or even more into pieces. This heavy knife has become more and more comfortable in Allen's hands, and has reached the level of the temple mentioned by Catherine that day. Now that the heavy knife is used by Allen, it is no longer limited by instrumentality. It's obviously a heavy knife, but it's like an embroidery needle when it is used by Allen.

Otherwise, the sound of the heavy knife breaking through the air would have already aroused the alarm of the Cato.

But then again, the Gato warriors, who were known for their ferocity, were fearless on the battlefield, but they were not alert. Alan hung far behind them, but even the self-proclaimed smartest Brico did not notice him.

Go all the way deeper.

Towards the end of the day, Alan saw a wilderness. It's hard to imagine a place like Chaos Canyon to see such an open and flat environment in front of you, where the earth glows like a layer of gold in the last golden afterglow of day. At the end of his sight, Alan saw hundreds of starships parked haphazardly on the ground, their metal shells reflecting the light of the setting sun.

And on it, there is also a mothership hovering in mid-air. Alan was sure that it was not a Cato starship, this mothership was elegant and mysterious, its deep fuselage like a black jewel, and its clean lines were too far from the style of the Cato. What's more, on the black mothership, there are noble and gorgeous golden lines, which are incompatible with the rough and barbaric style of the Cato people.

The only thing that can compete with this mysterious mothership in mid-air is the royal starship of Idahua. It's just that the two are very similar, but they are extreme in color. One is as silvery as the polar day, and the other is as black as eternal night, like the two extremes of the universe.

Alan was certain that the wilderness was not formed naturally, but was artificially altered by the Cato or the mothership in mid-air. They razed a corner of the Chaotic Canyon to life, and it was on this flat ground that Alan saw black machines. They resemble a huge, black diamond-shaped crystal. Underneath, three brackets of the same color extend to hold the machines with their shimmering red surfaces firmly to the ground.

At the lower end of the diamond-shaped machine, beams of bright red energy were continuously spewing out, and they were deep into the ground, and they didn't know what they were doing. The whereabouts of the Cato are so secretive that it is not difficult to imagine these machines, as well as the mysterious starship in the sky. Their work must be detrimental to the Federation, and Alan heard a commotion in the distance. He was lying on a high slope, using a twisted tree next to him as a cover, looking out towards the earth below.

It was a makeshift camp, with a distinctly Cato tribal style. Bai Ligo's team was among them, and the fat man was really conspicuous, and Alan saw him immediately. At this moment, Bai Lige was arguing with an unusually tall figure over something. It was an unusually slender humanoid being, covered in a black robe, and even his head was obscured by a hat.

His robe, with its blood-like lines, was adorned with dark blue, turquoise, and pale gold hedrons, which weaved intricate and mysterious patterns into the robe. A pair of long, blood-red arms protruded from the inside of the robe. Behind him, a pair of bony wings protruded from his robes, covered with gaps like rags.

When he was excited, blue flames would rise from under his feet, and they would roll up towards the onlookers as if spiritually. At this time, the Cato always retreated in a panic. They really had to be afraid of this blue flame, and Alan saw with his own eyes that a Cato warrior was licked by the blue flame because he didn't have time to retreat, and his whole body immediately burned. Blue Flame was like a viper desperately burrowing into the warrior's body, and when the scream came from the warrior's mouth, blue flames spewed out of his mouth and eyes.

But even so, Bai Lige was not afraid, and in the end, the black-robed man brushed his sleeves away. He was obviously extremely angry, and with a flick of his long hand, a large area of blue flames poured out from under his robe, and suddenly more than a dozen Cato warriors were affected, and they all turned into dark blue fireballs. It wasn't until they took their last breath that the eerie blue flames were extinguished.
