Hou Weidong's postscript
:
Since January 1, 2008, I have typed down the first line of "The Romance of the Official Road". "Official Road Merry" was not originally called this name, but "Upward Staircase", and the editor said that this name was not suitable for the Internet, so it was renamed "Official Road Merry". After publication, it was renamed "Hou Weidong's Notes on Officialdom". On March 18, 2017, the book finally ended. This ending is naturally not the end I originally envisioned, and the original envisioned ending Hou Weidong's position should be higher, as a member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee of the provincial capital. Due to various reasons, Hou Weidong's post stopped as secretary of the Maodong Municipal Party Committee, which is not bad. The last two chapters only explain the fate of the main characters in this book, and the endings of some characters are not explained, which is a pity.
When I typed the first word of the book, there were three things that didn't come to mind:
First, I didn't expect Hou Weidong's writing to last so long, spanning ten years. In addition to Hou Weidong, the Hou book series was also developed, in addition to Hou Haiyang (Wang Qiao), there is also Hou Tianming in "Save My Life" (this book is serialized on the WeChat public account, one article a day. There is also the upcoming "Hou Canghai Trade Route Notes". Hou Weidong, Hou Haiyang (Wang Qiao), Hou Canghai, Hou Tianming and other characters together constitute the huge system of the Hou family. The Hou family is the representative of thousands of ordinary Chinese families, and it is estimated that my creations will be inseparable from the Hou family in the future, and eventually form a family tree. The heroine's natural surname is Zhang, Hou and Zhang, which are the surnames of my wife and me, and the surname Wang of Wang Qiao is the surname of my mother.
Second, I didn't expect this book to be loved by so many friends. First of all, I apologize for the long-term stop, there are more subjective factors (deep apologies) for the long-term stop, and there are also objective factors (not much to say about the objective factors), but after hard work, Hou Haiyang has been continued in another way (Wang Qiao), and Hou Weidong also has an ending that is not the end. From now on, I can proudly say that Xiaoqiao's works do not have eunuchs: "Yellow Sand Wears Golden Armor in a Hundred Battles" - completed, "The Official Road Merry" - not the end of the ending, "Hou Haiyang's Grassroots Storm" - completed in the form of "Once Upon a Time in Jingzhou". You may not be happy with the ending of the last two books, but that's it. I finally did not completely live up to the hopes of my friends and threw the title of "eunuch" into the Pacific Ocean.
The ending is not my original ending, but the relationship between the main characters is still the same as originally envisioned: Hou Weidong did not divorce Xiaojia or be with Guo Lan; Li Jing is far overseas; Duan Ying has her own happy family; Only Guo Lan has become the pain in Hou Weidong's heart and the regret of eternal life. Life is regrettable, literary works are inevitably regrettable, and perhaps a life with regrets is the real life.
Hou Weidong, Guo Lan, Li Jing, Zhou Changquan, Zhu Yan and other characters are no longer characters in Xiaoqiao, but have become real friends of flesh and blood, and sometimes even confused, feeling that there is really such a group of people living in another space.
Third, Xiaoqiao himself changed his life path because of the success of the Hou family, obtained a good income, and completely changed from an administrative cadre to a writer. Writing will be Xiaoqiao's lifelong career.
Thank you very much for your support to Xiaoqiao in the past ten years, and I hope to continue to support Xiaoqiao in the future, and the news about Xiaoqiao's new book will be published on Sina Weibo and WeChat public account.
Bow, bow, bow!!
