Chapter Forty-Eight: Enlightenment in the Temple
In the dark temple, Li Xiaofeng sat cross-legged, closing his eyes and quietly feeling all the fluctuations between heaven and earth.
As if the five senses were closed, Li Xiaofeng could not see, hear, or smell Li Xiaofeng, who had really entered the meditation, only the perception of the primordial spirit was slowly immersed in the vague fluctuations between heaven and earth.
Li Xiaofeng only felt that his consciousness fell into a fog, and slowly, brilliant colors appeared, and all kinds of mysterious and mysterious breath fluctuations were clearly felt by Li Xiaofeng. However, it is precisely because those breaths fluctuate too much and are mixed together, even if they are real, they only feel more and more confused.
"The fluctuations of the Tao are really mysterious and indescribable," Li Xiaofeng, who sighed in his heart, quickly reacted: "I swallow dates like this, I can't chew too much, and I definitely can't improve my efficiency." It's better to specialize than to specialize, so let's choose a clearer way to fluctuate the breath of the Tao and feel it carefully. ”
His mind was placed on an earthy yellow light, feeling the heaviness, vitality, and creation fluctuations contained in it, and soon Li Xiaofeng was confused again. This should be the way of the earth, although it is only one of the five elements, but the complete way of the earth is still very subtle and complex, and it is not so easy to understand, and it is very difficult to understand.
This enlightenment is not like learning gradually, first learning addition and subtraction, and then learning multiplication and division. The Tao is not from simple to complex, it is so mysterious and mysterious, you can only feel its subtlety over and over again, slowly feel it like a water mill, experience a lot, feel deep, and finally suddenly have an epiphany, Daigo empowerment like a full understanding, and then understand it thoroughly. To understand is to understand, and not to understand is not to understand.
Tao is a kind of mystery that cannot be divided and analyzed, that is to say, it cannot be elaborated. It is a vague whole, not a concrete composition. There is no way to go from shallow to deep, only the depth of your understanding.
That's why it's so difficult to cultivate the Tao, why it's so difficult to become an immortal and a god, and why it's difficult for those who don't have great wisdom, perseverance, and great opportunity to achieve great things. In the final analysis, it is because the Tao is difficult to understand.
The so-called master leads the door and cultivates in the individual. Even if it is some powerful guidance disciples, they can only give a general and general guidance, and cannot be very specific. If you want to succeed in cultivation, what should you do? If you want to achieve enlightenment by yourself, you can only realize it by yourself. You must endure loneliness, not be arrogant or impatient, and have an epiphany that is hard to find, and the path of cultivation is more like a long time of grinding water! If you have perseverance and perseverance, you will not be able to understand it if you do not have wisdom and understanding. If you have perseverance and wisdom, you don't have a chance, you reach the bottleneck of cultivation, you can't break through, at this time wisdom and perseverance don't play a big role, only by chance, you can't get an accident, an accident and then you have an epiphany, and you figure it out.
Take those powerful preaches to the disciples as an example, he preaches the mysterious and mysterious way, giving you a vague guide and mention, then what the disciples can gain depends on your own understanding and luck. He is not like a teacher who teaches students and says that you don't understand this question, but the teacher will explain it carefully to you and you will understand. But you don't understand this way, and it will be in vain to tell you a hundred more times. Because the Word is indescribable, it cannot be explained clearly. Your teacher can't explain clearly, so how can your disciples understand it?
Besides, Li Xiaofeng felt that it was not easy to comprehend the way of earthly practice, so what should I do? No, I could only put it aside for the first time and try to comprehend other ways.
There are actually many ways between heaven and earth, and there is a saying that there are three thousand avenues. Some people may be puzzled, is there really so many Taos? Yes, what we usually know, what Yin and Yang, the Five Elements, Wind and Thunder, Destruction, Creation, Chaos, and so on, we can think of, and you will find very few Taos that you can speak. How can these 3,000 avenues be afforded? Where did they come from?
Now that we've mentioned it, we're going to talk about it here. There is such a saying that the Tao gives birth to one, life to two, two to three, and three to all things, which is a saying for the derivation of the Tao. Generally speaking, what about the chaos that gives birth to Wuji, Wuji to Taiji, Taiji Yin and Yang, and the five elements of wind and thunder?
We should note that the path of evolution of this path is the process of differentiating from the most subtle path of chaos into one path that is getting simpler and simpler. According to this subdivision, there will be three thousand avenues. And the Tao in our usual sense is a common Tao, even if it is the Tao of the five elements, their levels are relatively high, and they are higher Dao.
The higher paths can be subdivided into the lower and simpler paths, and the simple paths can in turn form the higher paths. The higher Tao is not easy to comprehend, so the lower and simple ones are always much easier, right? After understanding the simple ones and then comprehending the higher ones, does it seem to be gradual and easier?
And this step-by-step, the gradient is actually very large, which is equivalent to a step-by-step process. After all, no matter how simple the Tao is, it is still subtle and vague, and it is not easy to understand it.
With the attempt to perceive and analyze slowly, Li Xiaofeng finally discovered that there is a difference between high and low Tao. He originally thought that the simple path of the five elements was actually not simple at all, but it was all a higher path.
In the end, Li Xiaofeng chose a path derived from the way of earth walking, which tended to exert its power and subtlety. Anyway, Li Xiaofeng didn't know what this kind of Dao was called, but it was already a relatively refined and lowest-level Dao. This is a very practical way to use the power of the body, which can be combined with the power of the body. Therefore, Li Xiaofeng wanted to understand it first.
And after trying to meditate and comprehend, Li Xiaofeng finally reluctantly discovered that even if it is the simplest way, it is easy to comprehend part of the mysteries, but it is difficult to understand it.
"Could it be that my understanding is so poor?" Li Xiaofeng couldn't help but feel a little depressed and helpless in his heart.
Feeling that he couldn't understand it in a short period of time, Li Xiaofeng didn't drill into the horns, but began to choose other low-level ways to understand. After trying a few times, hey, Li Xiaofeng found another situation, that is, some Dao is very smooth and easy to comprehend, and some are very slow.
"Oh, it turns out that it's not that I'm too talented, it's that I have talent for some Dao and no talent for some Dao!" Li Xiaofeng suddenly rose in his heart. In fact, the truth is very simple, people always have what they are good at and what they are not good at. There are thousands of Taos, and you can't say that you can comprehend every Tao. Human energy is limited, and even for monks, their long life spans are not wasted. If you understand what you are good at and be able to achieve something, then you will be fine.
Next, Li Xiaofeng put his mind on some simple ways that he was good at, and he didn't seek to be able to understand them directly, but tried to understand each one. When encountering a very fast and smooth understanding, I will try to see how much I can understand, but almost all of them are at most half of the understanding, and it is much more difficult to continue to deepen the understanding.
Time passed slowly in the process of Li Xiaofeng's enlightenment, and Li Xiaofeng, who was immersed in his understanding, couldn't notice the passage of time at all.
Slowly, Li Xiaofeng, who had already tried to comprehend hundreds of low-level paths, and had a deep or shallow meditation understanding of one or twenty of the ways he was good at, and Li Xiaofeng, who really couldn't understand any kind of way, was ready to end this enlightenment.
In the still dark and silent Pangu Temple, Li Xiaofeng, who had been cultivating cross-legged for an unknown number of years, finally slowly opened his eyes.
At this moment, Li Xiaofeng's whole person was a little in a trance, as if he had slept for a thousand years, and he was dazed and couldn't react for a while. Li Xiaofeng, who has been immersed in the mysteries of the Dao, has a very uncomfortable feeling at this moment.
Li Xiaofeng, who came back to his senses after a long time, couldn't help but take a deep breath, and a smile appeared on his slightly stiff face: "It turns out that the feeling of enlightenment is like this. It's no wonder that some monks may have been in retreat for many years. is so immersed in perception, the concept of time is faint. ”
"I don't know how long it took me to cultivate this time, but don't once I go out to cultivate, I will be able to walk all over the ground in the wilderness, and there will be as many immortals as dogs!" Li Xiaofeng, who stood up with his stiff body, couldn't help twisting his neck and muttered to himself: "However, the twelve ancestral witches should not have been born yet, right? Otherwise, it would be impossible for them not to come and see the Pangu Temple so close." ”
