Chapter 83: There is a Bodhisattva in the Heart
The journey from Wanhua Valley to Quanyang City was very long, and even if Bai Luofeng changed fast horses and kept copying the dense forest path, it would take four or five days.
Originally, Bai Luofeng thought that although the battle situation in Beiguan was unfavorable, it should just be stuck in a stalemate offensive and defensive battle. However, as he met more refugees in the north, the words that came out of their mouths made his heart sink more and more.
The situation in Quanyang City was already so bad that Bai Luofeng didn't expect that the Korean army would face an entire Mongolian army that was several times larger than them. Since the beginning of the trip, he has not slept for two days, and the horses have already killed two horses, but he still thinks they are too slow, and he knows that every moment of stay will make the battle situation in Beiguan one point more dangerous.
What if Quanyang City is lost? What if Liu Jizong is killed?
The more he thought about it, the more irritated Bai Luofeng felt, he raised his horsewhip and wanted to give birth to a pair of wings, and the corners of his clothes stained by dust faintly showed blood stains - because he took a shortcut to the mountain road, he had already met several waves of bandits blocking the road along the way, but fortunately, they were not high, Bai Luofeng basically sat on a sword and drove away, and finally rode away.
At this moment, the horse under the crotch gasped for breath twice, fell headlong, and the whole horse immediately pouted forward, and the person on the horseback was immediately thrown out.
Fortunately, Bai Luofeng reacted, and immediately turned his body in mid-air, and finally landed safely with his feet, but because the horse's momentum towards him was too great, he staggered and stopped.
Immediately after that, the sound of horses' hooves trampling on the sand was also heard behind the road he walked, and several figures gradually appeared on the horizon, and by the reflection of the sunset at dusk, the people who came showed their faces in Bai Luofeng's field of vision.
Quit Kong, Sword Wine Song, Liu Changyi, Li Xianggao, Xiao Xizhi.
They're all here.
"You're running so fast, we can't keep up with you. The sword wine song strangled the reins of the horse, and then carefully took out the wine gourd tied to the belt, and took a small sip appropriately, as if he had just passed 108,000 miles, "I can't toss an old bone like you, as the saying goes, if you want to hurry, you can't reach it, the more anxious you are, the easier it is to mess up, how can you have the energy to help the front-line general?"
"Alas, there is not much to go, look at the smoke over there, it is estimated that there will be a village after a few steps ahead, it is better to stay for one night to recuperate. Jie Kong Yao pointed to the ethereal white smoke in mid-air and proposed.
"You're not tired, and the horses are tired, you can't tire a few more horses, right?" Li Xianggao said to persuade.
"That's right, if you go down again, I'm afraid that people will die halfway before they reach Quanyang. Liu Changyi joined them.
Bai Luofeng listened to their words, and his impulsive emotions gradually calmed down, looking at his friends in front of him, and then at himself covered in mud, his cavity was full of guilt, and he finally agreed graciously.
The night came as promised, but Bai Luofeng lay on the bed and tossed and turned and couldn't sleep for a long time, and after thinking about it, it was better to find some wine to relax and relax first.
The most important thing to drink is to have someone to accompany you, one person drinks is bitter, and a group of people drink wine becomes sweet.
Bai Luofeng pondered for a long time, because the village was not big, and each family could not have so many empty rooms, so the group of them separately found a family that was willing to take them in, gave them some silver taels, and lived together for the night.
And Liu Changyi, Li Xianggao and Xiao Xizhi stayed several rooms away from him, and it was close to midnight at this time, Bai Luofeng didn't want to disturb the master, so it was inconvenient to take them with him.
As for the sword wine song, he is so good at drinking, Bai Luofeng feels that he has drunk a lot less every time he drinks with him, so he can't bring the old man with him.
But when I knocked on the door of the empty room, I found that the room was empty.
When the sleepless man was feeling discouraged, and secretly blamed the monk for not being able to enjoy himself at night, he suddenly remembered an abandoned temple that he passed by when he entered the village, and the whole person jumped out of the low wall as if he had been poured chicken blood.
Bai Luofeng is very sure that the abstinence must be there, because the abstinence has a habit that cannot be quit: every time he has to face a big event, he will honestly find a place to seriously ask the Buddha and Bodhisattva for protection.
Entering Beiguan is a major event related to life and death, Bai Luofeng understands this better than anyone else, and what he is puzzled about is: why does he not respect Buddhism on weekdays, and the precepts that resist him are willing to hand over the ending to something he doesn't trust at a critical time?
The path from the entrance of the village to this place has long been flooded with waist-high weeds, and the ruined temple seems to be a mushroom growing from the ground, accompanied by the chirping of insects and frogs, and the rhythmic beating of wooden fish.
Ordinary people do not dare to walk this kind of night road, and the temple at night, especially this kind of temple that has been abandoned for a long time, will be heavier than the mass grave.
It is said that it is because the daytime imps do not dare to make random times in front of the Buddha and Bodhisattva, so they can only wait for the night or after their incense is completely cut off to gather together to show off their might.
But Bai Luofeng is not afraid, he usually steps into the grass, the moonlight lengthens his shadow, a bit like a night patrol Yin soldier, even the snake and scorpion hidden in the dark are retracted into the hole.
When the visitor struggled to squeeze out of the grass, he was already covered with a lot of grass wool, and look at his clothes, how could there be anything neatly said to be neat? It may be a young gnats or an ant with no long eyes that has accidentally crawled into his trouser leg and scratched it all over his body.
After taking a few steps, the buzzing of mosquitoes at the root of his ears sounded a few times, and in the end, he couldn't stand the itch and scratched the neck that grew a big bag, Bai Luofeng angrily pulled out his sword and wanted to swing away this large piece of weeds, but the fireflies in the air stopped leisurely on his sword.
The sword seemed to have become a thousand pounds in an instant because of this heartless insect, and it was impossible for people to lift it, and then the whole grass seemed to be sensed and instantly jubilant, and the stars of fluorescence were floating around overhead.
Bai Luofeng felt that he should not be blamed for such a beautiful scenery full of vitality, and he was annoyed that he had forgotten that he could borrow his body method, which not only made him embarrassed, but also disturbed so many small things that could not be rested.
The sword was put into the sheath, and the person holding the sword took a light step, brushing open the cobwebs hanging upside down at the temple gate, and saw a ridiculous picture: a person on the lotus seat with cotton wool exposed was babbling Buddhist scriptures with his back to him, the wooden fish in his hand was knocked intermittently, and occasionally the mosquitoes were beaten away with a snap with his free hand, and a shiny back of his head was in a trance.
"Isn't a monk who doesn't kill?" Bai Luofeng teased him.
"It's not easy to kill. The monk put down the Qianzhi who knocked on the wooden fish, turned his face sideways to entertain Bai Luofeng, this person was indeed quitting the void as expected, "I gave the mosquito a chance, drove it away three times, and it came back three times, I knew that this scourge was deadly and difficult to change, so I saved it, and I hope it will reform in the next life." ”
Bai Luofeng couldn't help laughing, but he didn't insist and said: "Don't you Buddhists have Shakyamuni cut meat to feed the eagle?
"Buddhism pursues the equality of all beings, which means that people and all things, and I and others are equally precious, so we must not kill. "In that case, why should I lower myself, and I have to swallow my anger when I am disturbed by it." ”
Bai Luofeng opened his mouth and couldn't spit out a word.
"Take the blood-sucking mosquito and fly as an example, according to Buddhist theory, it is equal to me, so why is it only allowed to take my blood, and I am not allowed to add to it?"
When it comes to the avenue of Buddhism, even a hundred Bai Luofeng can't be worth a precept, so Bai Luofeng can only laugh, he thinks to himself that if he hears the monk's "crooked reasoning" for those guys who are self-proclaiming, he is afraid that he will be angry and scold endlessly.
So, Bai Luofeng pressed down with interest, hoping that Jiekong would have the opportunity to find an excuse to justify himself: "So you don't listen to the Buddha, so why do you still worship the Bodhisattva?"
"The bodhisattva I worship is not the bodhisattva that sentient beings ask for, but the bodhisattva in my heart. The monk put his fingers together, "Sentient beings ask too much and give too little, so the bodhisattvas of sentient beings are too busy to take care of them." But my bodhisattva is different, and when I am lonely, the bodhisattva is also lonely. I worship him to beg him not to be too afraid of loneliness. ”
The air instantly fell silent, and even the insects outside the temple who were singing a moment ago stopped talking.
"Are you afraid, why do you still want to come?" Bai Luofeng asked.
"I'm afraid, but as long as the bodhisattva in my heart is not afraid, he can bless me, and when I think about it, I will slowly become afraid. Jiekong patted his chest lightly and smiled, and then sighed unconsciously: "But not everyone will have a bodhisattva blessing." I came so that they would not be scared in the future. ”
Bai Luofeng didn't ask anymore, he felt that even one more word would be disrespectful to the Bodhisattva in the hollow heart.
He can afford to quit empty, just as he can afford to quit empty, they all know that no matter how much the people in the rivers and lakes criticize and scold, they can't change a fact - quit empty is a unique monk.
In fact, there are many "bald donkeys" who chant and worship the Buddha every day in this world, but they are not necessarily real monks, and there are also many "wicked people" who love to drink and kill, but in essence they are real monks.
People who have a bodhisattva in their hearts, whether they have a scar on their head or not, whether they are wearing a robe or not, and whether they love to eat meat and wine or not, will never be afraid of loneliness all the time.
