Chapter 5 Rescue of the Hostages

He pointed to the village and said, "The battle plan remains the same, what has changed is the path of retreat. We don't have time to go around in circles anymore. After we rescued the target, you were responsible for taking the hostages out of the village and waiting two hundred meters north of the village. The gypsies and little Bill are in charge of sabotaging the communication station, and I cover for you. Walker, when the hostages are withdrawn, you immediately set directional mines on the road out of the village from the outside around the north of the village, and guide us on the way to retreat. ”

"Understood." Several of us answered in unison.

John looked at his watch, looked down at the mountain, and said, "The man is coming soon." Let's get ready, everybody. ”

We all ducked into the grass and waited quietly, while John controlled the sentry. It took about another ten minutes for the sentry to change the guard to come up and even burp as he turned the bend towards us.

"Little Bill. Kill him. Right away! John's deep voice came from his ears.

As soon as he finished speaking, there was a muffled "poof", and little Bill pulled the trigger. The man who had come to change the guard fell limply. Little Bill and I quickly ran out of the bushes, I picked up his gun, and I dragged Bill Jr. by one arm and dragged him into the grass.

"What about this lover?" The beggar asked.

John glanced at the two of them and said coldly, "Old rules." ”

Just when I doubted that the old rule meant to kill them, the beggar just casually held a gun and shot at the lovers who were already crying.

I looked at the two corpses in a bit of amazement, though I had seen a lot of dead people. But the killer unarmed captive, and there was a woman among them, I really couldn't accept it for a while. But everyone else is indifferent.

"I'll tell you why I'll do it later." John patted me on the shoulder and said.

I looked at the dead lovers again and didn't speak. Instead, he subconsciously nodded in acceptance. After all, there are more important things to do now, and it is a high-risk thing, which is related to one's life and death.

According to the plan, I was in a group with little Bill. They quickly descended the mountain and hid in a dense meadow at the entrance of the village, waiting for John's signal that they were in position. And I took advantage of this time to observe the guards at the entrance of the lower village.

There were two guards in them, and they seemed careless. One of them smoked a cigarette and the other talked about something from time to time. They stood relatively stationary and did not walk around. There are faint people walking back and forth in the village, but they are some distance away.

"Number 1 is in place." The sound of John in his place was heard.

After we had also replied in place, John said, "Confirm the number of visible enemies." Two sentries in the north of the village. ”

"There are two sentinels in the south of the village. People can be seen moving around the village. I replied.

"The people in the village are the ones who go to dinner. Now it's time to get your hands dirty. Walker, who was in charge of observing the snipers, said.

"Confirm the goal. I'm right 1" John said.

Beggar: "Left 1"

Me: "Left 1"

Bill Jr.: "Right 1"

"3, 2, 1" As John finished counting, two muffled "poofs" sounded, and the two sentries in front fell.

"The target is down." Voices came from the earphones.

Little Bill and I ran out quickly, dragging the bodies of the two sentries into the grass by the side of the road. Then we ran to a wooden house at the entrance of the village. There was no one in the room, and I looked sideways outside, and the sun had already set, and the light was only enough to see a faint figure.

"Moving in the direction of the goal." At the behest of John. Little Bill and I went around. I walked in front and little Bill was in charge of my rear. As we walked forward, we could hear the militants talking and laughing, but no one noticed us. We arrived in the vicinity of the target building without any problems.

We stopped by an adjoining wooden house, and I looked inside. There were two people lying in the room, as if they were already resting, because faint snoring could be heard. Outside the target building, there are two sentries. On the opposite side of the house is the location of the communications equipment we are going to destroy, and there are two people standing in the doorway of it.

"Report location." John's deep voice came.

"The target building has been reached. Now two sentinels can be seen outside the communication house, clearly. There are two sentinels outside the target building, and the shooting is not ideal. I replied.

"You're in charge of killing the two people outside the communications house. We're responsible for taking out the ones outside the target building. Get ready! You fire first. John said.

I motioned to Bill Jr., and I continued to be in charge of the one on the left, and he was in charge of the one on the right. He gave a thumbs up in understanding.

"3, 2, 1" Just as I was shooting, John pulled the trigger as well. After a few rapid pops, the four sentries fell almost simultaneously without a chance to raise any alarm.

"The target is down. Confirm the fall. "We all said it. Walker, on the other hand, said softly, "The situation around is safe. Let's go. ”

Little Bill and I leaned out from the back of the house, and John from the opposite side waved at us, motioning for us to clean up the bodies in front of the hostage room, who were in charge of the communications room.

I walked over to a corpse and bent over and just dragged two meters. Just listening to the squeak, I immediately realized that it was not good. Immediately put down the body and was about to raise the gun and look at the door of the house, only to see a person just walked to the door, and I was about to pull the trigger, the man suddenly tilted his head and burst out of his head with a bloody sword, and fell to the door.

"The target is down. Safe. Walker said in the communicator.

I let out a long sigh of relief and gave a thumbs up in the direction of the mountain bag. Then I quickly dragged the body to the back of the house.

John ran over and motioned for me and little Bill to go and stand guard in the communications room. Little Bill and I nodded and ran over quickly. John then went into the house with the beggar.

Little Bill and I looked inside the communications room, and there was only one man on duty. The man was leaning back in his chair, his feet on the table, and he looked very comfortable.

At the same time, there was movement from the target building, and John walked out with the men and handed it to the beggar. But it seems to be different from the previous plan, because two people were brought out.

The beggars withdrew first with the hostages. John, on the other hand, leaned over to us and motioned for us to get started.

I gently pushed the door open, after making sure it was just one person. Little Bill pulled out his dagger and whispered behind the man's back, covering his mouth and slitting the man's throat. Then we had a row of radios on the table, and it was a strafing fire. Before leaving, I pulled out a grenade and pulled the ring and pressed it under the corpse. Then he and little Bill walked out of the house.

Just then, Walker's voice came from his ears. He seemed to be moving quickly, gasping for breath as he said, "There is a situation in the south of the village. Between 10 and 20 armed men. There are two pickups, one truck. There were heavy machine guns on the pickup. ”

We came to the door, and I looked south of the village. At this point, you can already see the flashing lights there, as well as the sound of the car engine. At the same time I felt the danger, this strange but familiar feeling. I glanced at Minami and saw a man getting out of a car. I wondered how the sense of danger intensified when I saw this person.

Walker had only arrived here when we had quickly retreated to the north of the village. As planned, he was late. Maybe it's because of this situation.

"Walker. You give me the directional mine. You and the beggar withdraw first into the woods. We can't follow the road. Once you've found a good spot, show the way. After John finished speaking, he took Walker's backpack and set it up a hundred meters outside the entrance of the village.

Little Bill and I watched the village on both sides of the road, covering John.

Soon, there was movement in the village. The people inside began to stir, and people came out of the house one after another. They must have found out that the sentry was not on duty and found the body. Just as John was signaling for us to withdraw, an explosion was heard in the communications room, and someone had won.

I, John and little Bill quickly got off the road and leaped into the woods. The movement from the village clearly showed that the guerrillas had judged the direction of our retreat and pursued them from the north entrance of the village.

Soon, two more explosions were heard. The directional mine set by John exploded. But before we could look back, the guerrillas cunningly pursued the same path instead of continuing the pursuit, but also towards the woods.

But the speed of our few men was very fast, and it was difficult to catch up with us at the speed at which we were searching and moving forward without finding a clear target. It was strange to me, because why did my sense of danger persist if I couldn't catch up.

We had been walking for about ten minutes when we heard Walker's voice. He saw us and told us that the partisans in the rear had been left far behind us, and that he was on a hillside not far in front of us.

We quickly joined Walker, who said that the beggar had continued to head north with the target hostage. John looked at the direction and told us that if we continued to walk north for about half an hour, we would be able to get out of pursuit, because our self-defense forces were very close to us.

By this time it was completely dark, and the dense jungle looked even more eerie at night. We all put on our night vision devices, and I told John about my dangerous feeling before continuing on our way. After hearing this, he did not speak, but first contacted the beggar who continued to run in front of him, confirmed the direction, and then continued to set off with everyone.

We moved fast and in a short time passed the markers marked by the beggars on the road. Just as he was about to catch up with him, a few flashes of light flashed in the jungle ahead, and then he heard the sound of gunfire. I could tell by the fact that I heard the gunshots about two seconds after seeing the flash, and the person who fired the shot was about 600 to 700 meters away from us.

Just as we stopped, the voice of a beggar came to our ears: "There is an ambush. Repeat: There is an ambush ahead! ”

As soon as he finished speaking, the gunshots rang out again. And it's constantly shooting. This means that the beggar has been discovered, and a moment later he begins to fight back.
