Chapter 228: The Question of Axiom

Since the Czechoslovak crisis of February 1936, Infantry General Hersmann has been in the Eastern Front Command in Dresden, waiting for an order from Berlin to go to war with Czechoslovakia!

Three armored divisions, three motorized infantry divisions and eighteen infantry divisions, as well as two mountain infantry divisions, were already in place. More than 1,000 combat aircraft of the Luftwaffe's Fourth Air Force also arrived at the various front-line airfields. More than a dozen "Ferrena" radar systems, developed by GEMA, were deployed on the northern front of the G&German border long before the end of 1935.

A small detachment of the Miuta Special Forces under the Military Intelligence Service has also infiltrated the Sudetenland and connected with the German People's Party, which had been infiltrated by the Stasi organization as early as the 20s, and most of its leaders were Stasi's co-operative informants. Large quantities of weapons and equipment, also smuggled across the border and airdropped at night, were delivered to these special forces squads and the German People's Party.

The Germans in the Sudetenland had already begun to take arms. An invasion of Czechoslovakia seemed imminent.

However, military invasion has never been Hersmann's first choice, and the first plan in the "Green Plan" is to surrender without a fight, and to take the whole of the Czech Republic reasonably and legally.

On April 5, 1936, a month-long League of Nations survey finally gave the results:

First. Czechs and Slovaks are not the same people, and the basis of the Czechoslovak nation-state does not exist;

Second. The population of ethnic Czechs is only about 5.95 million, or 47% of the total population of the Czechoslovak Republic;

Third. In 1919, the Czech politicians Masaryk and Benes used fraud to deceive the Allies, making the Czechs, a minority of the population, the dominant race in Czechoslovakia;

Fourth. The long-term monopoly of the Czechs on the political, economic, cultural and educational aspects of Czechoslovakia has resulted in oppression and discrimination against ethnic Germans, Slovaks, Hungarians, Ukrainians and other minorities in the territory;

Fifth. There is abundant evidence that ethnic Czechs committed genocide against ethnic Hungarians and Slovaks in Slovakia and Carpathian Ukraine during the Hungarian Wars;

Sixth. There is no evidence of any connection between the assassination of former Czechoslovak President Masaryk and the Sudetenland;

Seventh. Czechoslovak troops were massively stationed in the Sudetenland. A serious threat to the survival of the Germans in the region!

The above seven opinions were later called in history: the Seven Articles of the Fall of Czechoslovakia.

However, they do reflect the real situation that existed in Czechoslovakia at that time - the original historical fact, after the liquidation of the territory of Germans, Poles, Hungarians and Ukrainians (Carpathian Ukraine belonged to the Soviet Union), the state of Czechoslovakia was still unable to maintain itself, and it was divided in two in the upheaval of the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe. One can imagine what Czechoslovakia was like before World War II.

After the publication of the "Seven Articles for the Death of Czechoslovakia", Hersmann was recalled to Berlin to participate in a joint military-political conference aimed at a definitive settlement of the Czechoslovak question.

The meeting was held at the German Presidential Palace at 73 Wilhelmstrasse, and was chaired by the elderly Ludendorff himself.

After Ribbentrop, who was the representative of the League of Nations inquiry mission sent by Germany, reported on the results of the League of Nations investigation. The German president coughed lightly and said in a deep voice: "Well, the situation in Czechoslovakia is very clear, this is an illegally created state!" So what should we do? ”

"Mr. President is right," Hersmann immediately took over, "Czechoslovakia was founded by a handful of Czech politicians by intrigue and deception. We must therefore ask the League of Nations to find it illegal...... Czechoslovakia should first return to the status quo ante to the Treaty of Saint-Germain.

The Czechs, Germans, Slovaks, Hungarians, Ukrainians and Poles would then form a multi-ethnic confederation of democracies under the auspices of the League of Nations and on the basis of the principles of democracy, national self-determination and local self-government. ”

Hersman proposed a "confederation" rather than a "federation."

The two are not the same concept at all, and the typical modern federal state is the United States, although the central government and local governments are separated, but the power of the central government is still relatively large, and the federal constitution and laws are also higher than the local constitutions and laws. In fact, the federal system in the United States is a polycentric compound republic.

And after the Civil War. The authority of the federal government in the United States has risen markedly, and the localities have basically not dared to confront the federation.

Other than that. In the twenties and thirties of the twentieth century, the United States was a country divided by skin color, and the mainstream white family was dominant, and there was basically no ********.

The "confederation" that Hersman was preparing to impose on Czechoslovakia was similar to that of the Holy Roman Empire. Each of the confederate states had their own "small central government" with military and diplomatic powers, and there was no confederate central army.

"What does it mean to return to the status quo ante to the Treaty of Saint-Germain?" Adolph. Hitler had already heard another trap from Hersmann's words. "Do you want to restore the Kingdom of Bohemia? And return Slovakia to Hungary? ”

"It's impossible," Hersman shook his head with a smile, "Britain and France will certainly not agree, but we should fight for the property of the Sudeten and our Austrian brothers...... Since the Czechoslovak government was illegal, so was its confiscation of German property. It should be returned first, and then discussed in the confederate formation negotiations whether it should be confiscated again. ”

During the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the German nation was the dominant nation and naturally had a high economic status, and in the territory of the Kingdom of Bohemia at that time, a large number of land, castles and industrial and commercial enterprises belonged to the Germans. And after the establishment of Czechoslovakia, most of the Germans' property was confiscated.

And Hersmann's current demand for "restitution" would immediately result in the loss of a large amount of property to the central government of Czechoslovakia, or to the state government of the future Czech national state. At the same time, it was able to curry favor with the German aristocracy and the capitalist class of the Austrian system, most of whom owned property on the territory of the former Kingdom of Bohemia.

"It is perfectly legal to repossess property!" Hersmann smiled mockingly and said, "I have consulted legal experts that the confiscation between 1919 and 1920 was based on the decree of the Czechoslovak government, and if the government that issued the decree was illegal, then the legality of the decree did not exist." So these properties should be returned! ”

Hersmann's trick was even more poisonous than what Hitler had played back then. Hitler was brute force, while Hersmann was a man of reason, and the axiom was on the side of the Germans - and historically, the truth was on the side of the Germans.

Czechoslovakia was founded on false accounts. Moreover, the Czechs kicked the Slovaks aside as soon as they came to power, and the oil and water of the entire country were in the hands of the Czechs, who accounted for less than 50% of the population.

If the Entente in 1919 and 1920 were to be reasonable, Czechoslovakia would have been a federation of Czechs, Germans, Slovaks, Hungarians, Ukrainians, and Poles.

Of course, the current Germans have not only axioms, but also planes, artillery and tanks, and a lot of them.

……

"The Germans are right!"

At the premises of the British Mission to the League of Nations, Neville, who had come to attend the League of Nations meeting. Chamberlain had just sent off the head of the German delegation, Ribbentrop, and then to the French Minister of Defense, Eduard Edward, who was standing beside him. Daladier Says:

"Czechoslovakia was an illegitimate republic...... What should have been a federation or confederation was formed, not a nation-state. 47% are enslaving 53%, this is a scandal that must be corrected! ”

"Yes, it must be corrected!" The short, bald, and fat-headed French defense minister nodded repeatedly. "We can't think of a reason to oppose the Germans, it's not the same now as it was in 1919."

In 1919, Germany and Austria-Hungary were already on their knees, and now the Germans are standing up again, and it looks like they are still hooked up with the Soviet Union!

"yes, it's a different story now," Neville. Chamberlain and Darla were the first to turn and walk towards the building where the British delegation was. "It is necessary for the Czechs to return their seized property, but ...... The existence of this country is still conducive to the stability of Central Europe, and this is what we should insist on. ”

If Czechoslovakia were to disperse, the Germans would likely swallow up the entire Czech region - the German-speaking part of the Czech Republic was scattered around the entire periphery, forming a siege of the Czech-speaking region. If the German-speaking Czech Republic were to join Germany, it would be difficult for the rest of the country to survive on its own.

In this way, the entire industrially developed Czech region would be annexed by Germany, which would not only receive a large number of factories, but would also increase their population by more than 9 million people, to 75 million.

If you add in Austria's 8 million and Baltic's 4 million, Germany would have 87 million people, more than Britain and France combined!

"Maybe a loose Bohemian federation could be formed," said Neville. Chamberlain said that he was not in favor of organizing a Confederacy, which was too loose.

He said: "The rights of the Bohemian Germans should be fully guaranteed, they should have their own property, they should have their own self-government, they should have their own Wehrmacht, but they could not merge with Germany or Austria." Slovaks, Ukrainians, Hungarians, and Poles should have the same rights as Germans. The Czech-controlled armies, on the other hand, should first retreat from the territory of other nationalities. Then in Geneva there were negotiations for the establishment of a fully equal federation to form a free and democratic Bohemian federation in accordance with the popular will. (To be continued.) )
