Chapter 33: The Conflict between Good and Evil
When I was young, I guess I started at the age of 12! Second, question all of your own existence, such as questioning why you have to take the exam, why you have to take a lot of exams, why you are not interested in the things you are examining, why you have to cut your head flat when you are in middle school, why do you exist, why why you can never stop questioning.
I found that both humans and Terrans were very different from others. After graduating from junior high school, when I was about 15 years old, I was the first to go out and the last to go home.
Except for loneliness or loneliness, it is almost completely incompatible with this world. It's just alive, and it doesn't mean much to the author. I accidentally found that some people in the book were imprinted with the author.
As mentioned above, Socrates and Zhuangzi used to have existed in this world who were as different from the author, and most of them were called thinkers or philosophers.
It's just, it's just that why some people can't understand what the author writes?
Obviously it is a Chinese character, and it is clear that thought is the most precious meaning of the human race, how can the author not understand it?
I don't understand at the age of sixteen, I don't understand at the age of twenty-six, I still don't understand at the age of thirty, and I don't understand it now, but it's not important, forget it, if you can understand, you will understand, and if you don't understand, it won't affect the author's realm.
Hegel and Kant almost don't understand that books have been bought several times, and they have been bought and bought, bought and lost, and there is no place to put books, and it is wrong to have too many books. The right book for you is a good book!
Now the author doesn't read online articles here anymore, and has ordered about 500 books. Speaking from the heart, it doesn't help the author, it's almost the same, even if many writers or authors say that they are innovative, they know that the Tao is here again after a few clicks, and it's such a thing, and I've been tired of it for a long time.
Once, let's just say last year! The consumer here ranks first, and the Taiwan is third, and you can buy a house. The author thinks that's enough. This is already the greatest support that the author can do.
The author likes books, more than many people, books with imagination and thoughts can attract the author, and the author has bought more books. There is so much that there is nowhere to put it. Mostly lost. A small part of it was donated. Why don't you donate all because of the trouble.
There are a lot of troublesome things, and the author is as lazy as a hermit. Just like the bunch of idiot passers-by at the beginning, they were all deleted. Leaving evil words without reading a book proves that there are bad people everywhere in the world, and bad people don't know that they are really bad people.
Bad people are everywhere, and the ancient wise man said that ignoring them is the wise man, because destroying them is sanctioned by the law, and individuals cannot eliminate it, this is the world of the human race.
People come and go, all kinds of people, it's superficial. The real situation, after years of research, the author has come up with his own answer: Oral Zen! Don't doubt it, there are only good people and bad people in this world.
The good heart is always good, and the bad heart is always bad, and any environment is. How do you distinguish the good guys from the bad guys? Only time will tell.
Mencius (372 BC-289 BC), a famous Confucian thinker in ancient China, a representative figure of Confucianism during the Warring States Period, and a native of Zou State (now Zoucheng, Shandong).
He is the author of the book Mencius. He inherited and carried forward the ideas of Confucius, and became a generation of Confucian masters second only to Confucius.
Mencius's thought is mainly divided into political philosophy, i.e., benevolence, and philosophy of life, i.e., sexual goodness.
Pre-Qin Confucianism paid great attention to the question of good and evil in human nature. In the history of Chinese sexuality, the first to put forward the theory of sexual goodness was Mencius.
It is an indisputable fact that human nature is good, just as water flows downward. Mencius believed that all human beings are born with the most basic common natural nature, which is "goodness" or "intolerable heart", or compassion and compassion for others.
For example, he said, people who suddenly see a child falling into a well ("at first sight a child about to fall into a well") can feel fear and sympathy.
This kind of sympathy is not to please the child's parents, nor to gain a good reputation among fellow villagers, nor to dislike the reputation of not being able to save oneself, but it is completely derived from the natural nature of man, which is the "heart of inbearance".
"The heart of intolerance" is also called "the heart of compassion". In addition, there is the "heart of shame", "the heart of resignation", and the "heart of right and wrong".
These four minds (also known as the "four ends" or "four virtues") are the basis of Mencius's discussion of the inherent goodness of human nature. Mencius believed that the difference between man and beast was very small, and that it was only that man had these "hearts."
If you don't have these "hearts," you can't be counted as a human being. In his view, if he is not good for others, it is not a matter of nature, but because he has abandoned his nature and has not maintained it well, it must not be said that he does not have these "good" natures in the first place.
Therefore, if a person has bad thoughts and actions, he should close his door to check whether he has given up those gifted "hearts" and try to find them back in order to restore his true nature.
This is what Mencius called "reassuring him", which later generations called "restoration".
If you reflect on yourself and everything is in line with the natural moral concept, then that is the greatest happiness, which is what Mencius said, "Reflexively and sincerely, happiness is great."
Mencius's theory of sexual goodness had a great influence on traditional thought, and the first sentence of the "Three Character Classic" that circulated after the Song Dynasty was "At the beginning of man, nature is good." The theory of sexual goodness also became the orthodoxy of Confucianism in the future.
"The people are precious, the community is secondary, and the monarch is light. This means that the people come first, the country comes second, and the king comes last. Mencius believed that the monarch should give priority to caring for the people, and that the ruler should protect the rights of the people, which is Mencius's people-oriented thought (some people think that Mencius is a pioneer of democracy).
Mencius agreed that the people had the right to overthrow the monarch if he was unreasonable. Mencius believed that to obtain power, one must love the people and have legal means.
Moreover, the political power must depend on the will of the people, and if the virtue and conduct of the person in power are not accepted by the people, then the person in power will be disqualified from continuing to govern.
Mencius also quoted Shang Shutai's oath: "Heaven sees itself and the people see, and heaven listens to its own people" to warn people to attach importance to the people's hearts.
Xunzi (313 BC - 238 BC), the name of the people, the people of the time respected and called Qing, because the ancient sound of the words "Xun" and "Sun" are connected, so it is also called Sun Qing. At the end of the Warring States Period of the Zhou Dynasty, he was a native of the Zhao Guoyi clan (now Anze, Shanxi). A famous thinker, educator, and one of the representative figures of Confucianism, he developed Confucianism and advocated the theory of sexual evil, which is often compared with the so-called Mencius's "theory of sexual goodness".
Xunzi put forward the famous argument that "human nature is evil, and its good ones are hypocritical". He believes that the nature of human beings is: when they are hungry, they want to be full, when they are cold, they want to be warm, and when they are tired, they want to rest, which is the true expression of human nature.
In his view, "good profit", "evil", "good voice", etc., are all human natural desires, and they are also manifestations of human nature.
And the moral consciousness of goodness is the result of artificial processing. This kind of artificial processing is called "fake".
In response to Mencius's theory of sexual goodness, Xunzi used the categories of "sexuality" and "hypocrisy" for the first time to explain the relationship between human nature and social morality, and opposed the moralization of human nature.
Emphasizing the "distinction between sexuality and hypocrisy", it is believed that human nature is the desire for material life based on physiological functions, and social moral norms are the restriction and regulation of such desires, and the two are opposed.
At the same time, the two are unified, "If there is no sex, there is nothing to add to it, and if there is no hypocrisy, then sex cannot be beautiful." sexual conjugation, and then the name of the saint one".
This means that without natural nature, human nature cannot be artificially processed without social morality, and without human processing, human nature cannot be transformed from evil to good.
The role of the saint is to combine and unify "sexuality" and "falsehood" in a very good way.
Xunzi comprehensively discussed the relationship between the opposition and unity of "sexuality" and "falsehood", and emphasized the transformation of human nature, and put forward the views of "turning sex into hypocrisy" and "Tu people can be Yu", believing that everyone has the possibility of changing their nature and becoming a saint.
Xunzi's view of sexual evil had a great influence on Legalism, but it never became the orthodoxy of Confucianism.
Fu Sinian believed that Xunzi's views were similar to Confucius's, but Confucius and Mencius had very different views on sexuality, and this difference was "Song Confucianism knew it, not Song Confucianism dared to say it." (To be continued......)
