Chapter 1156: Purifying the Dharma Line
Because they regard this subtle scripture as a sutra for blessing and protection, they are reverent day by day instead of contemplating their minds, and they suddenly see what they are. On Fuhui, whichever side you are biased will cause deviation. How?
Start with your own habits and troubles, look at your body, and get rid of your gross habits. This is the first step. The second step is to practice concentration, either contemplation of the mind, or samadhi, meditation. In short, cultivate wisdom until liberation. This is the way to cultivate wisdom, but work hard from the heart. There are those who are in charge of the waste. If you think that a single thought is enough, what kind of mantra do you use, or think that the Dharma is the Dharma of the mind, so why bother offering Buddha statues. These are going the other way around. Although offerings and releases are events, they are indeed the origin of the accumulation of good fortune and merits. Speaking higher than the sky, when there is no good fortune and no food, how to talk about the mysteries. To be able to hear about the Mystic Law, you need to accumulate great merits, not to mention the clothing, food, shelter, and transportation in the world.
On the other hand, when I hold mantras every day, my mind is scattered, but in order to make up the number, I still recite it diligently. Or to make your wishes come true. This is good. But on the other hand, the law of dependent origin in the world is indispensable. For example, if someone wants to seek wealth, he just holds a mantra every day. It's not good not to work on the worldly law.
In short, we need both good fortune and wisdom so that we will not get lost on the path of Bodhi, and we will not go astray until one day, we will be able to hear the Dharma and prove that there is no life under the throne of the World-Honored One.
In the Sutra of Wisdom and Foolishness, there is a story about King Bishamen and Mahasna Upayi.
In this article, the Buddha said that if you want to achieve the Buddha's path, you should be willing to recite and speak the sutras, even if you are a white-clothed layman, and all the heavens, ghosts and gods will come to listen to it, not to mention the monks.
Even when the monks walked, "they recited the sutras and said verses, and there were always heavens, and they listened to them as they could, so they should recite the sutras diligently." ”
At that time, there was a female monk from a small village, named Mahasna Yuvayi, who went to the country of Sawei to listen to the Buddha's teachings, and asked the Buddha to give him the five precepts, and said that his home was far away from the Buddha, and asked the Buddha to give him things to worship.
The Buddha then granted the Dharma Sutra and asked her to go home and recite it devoutly.
When Mahasna arrived home, he recited the Dharma Sutra at night on the upper floors of the house.
At that time, the king of Bishamen, with a thousand medicine forks, thought of the king of growth in the south, and flew over the house of Mahasna, and when he heard the sound of chanting, he stopped in the air and heard the sound of the scriptures.
The king of heaven exclaimed, "Good, good, good, sister, good, Now if it is not fitting for me to give you the treasures of the gods, I will give them with kind words.
Sariputta and the Venerable Gandharan will come to this place, and tomorrow you will invite them to your home to make offerings, and when you vow to dedicate yourself, please recite my name.
When Mahasna heard the voice, he looked up into the night, and because he had no heavenly eye, he could not see the king and his family, and asked, Who are you?
A voice came from the air: I am the king of the medicine fork, King Bishamen, and I have stopped here for the sake of listening to the Dharma.
Mahasna asked: The celestials do not say in vain, you are a god, I am a human being, why do you call me a sister?
The king replied: The Buddha is the Dharma King, and he is also the loving father of all sentient beings, such as human beings and heavens, and I am a Buddhist male layman, and you are a female layman, and they are all disciples of the Buddha, so I call you a sister.
Mahasna rejoiced and asked, "King of Heaven, what good is it for me to recite your name when I make offerings to His Holiness?"
The king of heaven replied, "I am the king of heaven, and I have heard of him who calls me by name, so that he may call me so that he may increase my power and his dependents." I also use my divine power and ghosts and gods to protect people, increase their blessings, and keep them from decay. ”
From the words of the king of Bishamen, it can be seen that the king of heaven has the ears of heaven, and the ears of heaven are heard from afar, and he can hear the name of King Bishamen.
If you recite the salutation of King Bishamen now, he will know that you are remembering him on Mount Meru.
Since the king of Bishamen knows, such as the Emperor Shakti, the Great Auspicious Celestial, the Firm Earth God, the Big Dipper, etc., you recite their names, they also know, not to mention Avalokiteshvara and Jizo Bodhisattva.
When the vow is dedicated, reciting the name of the king of heaven can increase the king's power, virtue and dependents, so the king will use his divine power to edict the ghosts and gods to protect this person, increase his blessings, and keep him away from decay.
For this reason alone, we should have faith in the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas and all the great heavens.
The mantra is returned to them, increasing their power and dependents, and in turn, the Heavenly King has ordered his subordinate ghosts and gods to protect you and increase your blessings.
After all, the Heavenly King is of a very high rank, so he rarely comes in person, but rather depends on ghosts and gods to complete this task, unless you are very good at practicing the Dharma, diligent, or have the credentials, and are worthy of the Heavenly King's personal visit.
From the above words of King Vishamen to Upayi, we can be inspired that we call on the name of King Bishamen and make a vow for him, so that we can increase his power of virtue and prosper his dependents. At the same time, Bishamen and his dependents will also bless the pedestrians and increase their blessings. This is the same as when we make offerings to Buddhas and Dharma Protectors, and we make offerings to make statues of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas...... This series of dedication accumulates merit for oneself, and at the same time establishes a relationship with the Buddha and Bodhisattva, and can receive the blessings and help of the Buddha and Bodhisattva.
In the same way, in the language of the world, we have created value for the king of Bishaman, and we have increased the virtue of the king, and the blessings and energy of the king will flow to us. This is this cause and effect, and it is also a kind of conservation.
Therefore, if you want to change your fate, you need to learn to be altruistic and learn to give sincerely and selflessly. Sow good because you get good results. And if it's just for the sake of the ego, this ego, then you're just going to fall into a misunderstanding.
When it comes to studying and practicing Buddhism, there is a problem that cannot be ignored, and that is the problem of wealth. Some people have been cultivating for many years, and the economy is relatively poor. In fact, each method corresponds to a certain root mechanism and cause, and it is self-contained, with its own character and origin. For example, some methods tend to be born, some tend to subdue demons, and some tend to rest and eliminate diseases, so cultivating them will make you safe and auspicious, and you will have time to practice. However, the financial aspect may not be perfect, after all, this may not be directly related to birth. Every Buddha-figure and Dharma, when they attain Siddhi or are more corresponding, can complete the Four Karma Dharmas of Increasing Interest and Suffering. However, it is not easy to say that ordinary lay people recite and practice a little every day, and they do not have the ability to meditate, so they can freely realize the four kinds of careers.
As for the practice of Tantra, there are many people who have practiced for many years, but the Dharma experience is not great, and in reality it has not improved in all aspects, and the reasons for this are briefly as follows:
Failed to receive the empowerment lineage of a virtuous guru. If one seeks the Dharma in a pure lineage, the Dharma Master is a great achiever, and the disciples strictly observe the samaya vows and do not retreat from their faith, the blessings of the Dharma stream will inevitably flow from the Buddha-figure Guru into the practitioner's body and mind, and the Dharma will gradually appear.
