The scripture says: If you point to merit, the sky is like an eye. Instantaneously reciting the mantra of the mother dharani. Let the true merits come to protect each other and increase the treasures.

The ancient Chinese ancestors had high wisdom and spoke loudly. For example, if virtue is not matched, there will be disaster. Virtue can be regarded as virtue and ability. From a Buddhist point of view, it can also refer to good fortune. Nowadays, education emphasizes more on grades, and countless people do their best for scores and ivory towers in their dreams.

The education of cause and effect is also a top priority. In "The Four Teachings of Liaofan", Zen Master Yungu said this sentence:

Yungu said: "How can it be only Kodi. Those who enjoy the property of a thousand gold in the world must be a person of a thousand gold; those who enjoy the property of a hundred gold must be a person of a hundred gold; those who should starve to death must be a person who starves to death; the sky is only because of the material, and it has been added to the slightest meaning.

That is to say, if a son is born, he who has the virtue of a hundred generations will have a hundred generations of descendants to protect him, a person who has the virtue of ten generations will have ten generations of descendants to protect him, and a person who has the virtue of three generations and two generations must have three generations of descendants to protect him. ”

Those who can be presidents and chairmen must have the good fortune of being presidents, and those who can become the richest people in the world must have the good fortune of becoming the richest man. If a person is in a high position, but he is incapable and his good fortune is insufficient, his position is not guaranteed. In the same way, the general focus is on the effect, but not on the deeper cause.

For example, business people in the United States like to write autobiographies, and the conditions for success are self-confidence, positive thinking, and vision...... These factors are also true, but they are not the root causes. The reason why Master Fa Sheng observed Jobs' success was that he was a merchant in his previous life, giving to monasteries with porcelain, and vowing to become rich.

Jobs's inspiration and wisdom in this life came mainly from the results of meditation in his previous life, plus the result of his knowledge in this life. He had pancreatic cancer because he had kicked a doctor to death in his previous life. After passing away in this life, he became an earth-dwelling celestial. As far as Master Fasheng could see, Jobs was now located near Apple's headquarters. It is a staggered time and space, that is, the same place, presenting another world.

After Jobs' death, people wrote biographies of him, summarizing the factors of his success, such as paranoia, charisma, innovation, ...... These are the reasons, but if you compare them to what Master Fasheng saw, they are superficial reasons. The root cause is still the good cause he once planted.

Therefore, there is a saying in Buddhism: Bodhisattvas fear causes, and sentient beings fear results. For many things, especially the questions of many Buddhist students, why do you have no response to the vows for a long time?

The origins of this are very complex. For example, a person who does not usually have a business acumen wants to become the president of a company. After fulfilling his wish, it may not be a good thing for him, he will not be able to manage, and he will be defeated. Some people ask for a luxury car, but they don't have this blessing, and if they drive, they are very likely to get into a car accident, and even have a hard time.

The giving-get-and-get of the Dharma realm is eternal. Some people are desperate to make money, and finally pay for their health.

What Confucianism says is: a gentleman is in his position, and he does not want to care about it. Su rich and noble are rich, poor and lowly are poor, Su Yidi is poor, Su Yidi is evil, and the gentleman is not satisfied without entering.

The meaning of this passage is that a gentleman should do what he should do and do his duty. Of course, we can actively pursue it, but don't be swayed by the material things we are pursuing.
